Great food, I LOVE the pizza and the sweet potato fries the most! Burgers are decent, subs are better. The salads are really really good too!
Delivery tends to take awhile, sometimes up to an hour and they often forget something. Most times they redeliver the forgotten item in no time and are always really nice about it.
Got a Greek salad here the other day and was disappointed because when I went to eat it the next day the lettuce was not good at all. Â Didn't seem like they use fresh ingredients.
Other than that, I've eaten here quite a bit and the food is pretty good. Â The breakfast is probably the best in town (although it can be very slow) and the egg sandwiches are the best!
I have been stopping into this place for years to get a slice on the go. Â It's the best NY style pizza around. Â Just picked up 2 pies to serve to my parents while they're visiting and they both loved it as well. Â We live in Ipswich and there is no good pizza in our area. Â
I would go out of my way to get pizza here but my husband prefers Chicago style so only get to get it on the go typically.
I'd have to say that after living in town for a few years, Village is my favorite take out place. The food's always good. However, having said that, the service is abysmal. I have yet to have a nice, friendly person take my order and if you don't call ahead, you can wait up to an hour just for a pizza. I love their food but do find myself going to Nicky's and Pizza Factory more often since their service is so much better. I think Village had gotten a little to comfortable with their business and they just don't take the extra step to make you feel welcome.
Review Source:Village Subs & Pizza is my go-to place in the area for Pizza. Â My husband loves their steak subs, but I've never tried them. Â Their pizza is similar to a thin-crust italian style pizza. Â All of the other pizza places in the area are owned by Greek owners (not sure if Village is), so if you're not a fan of greek pizza, good luck in the Rowley/Gtown/Newbury area! Â
The crust is amazing, sauce is great, and cheese is plentiful. Â I have had issues with their delivery as well. Â Since I live in Rowley, it almost always takes them 45 minutes to get to me, so I always go and pick up. Â Delivery is definitely not their strong suit. Â Also, I have had a few "customer service" issues when waiting for my order--I notice they aren't the nicest when THEY make mistakes. Â But I'm willing to overlook that since their pizza is so good!
I have been here a few times. I'd say it's best to order out then to eat in cuz the staff often seems mindless and forgetful of those eating in and you often have to wait longer than if you take out.
The food itself is good and an okay price. But it's Georgetown so I guess I'll take the higher price.
They have great appetizers and pretty good pizza. The parking is all street and during peak hours always a hassle, try to park down the street a bit and walk down.
All in all it's A-Ok but not my favorite sub place in the area.
Village Pizza is a good all around sub/pizza shop.
The Pizza is very good, it reminds me of the north end type of thin crust pizza. Its a little greasy, but overall very good.
Subs are also very good and are average size/price. One of my favorites is the cheeseburger sub, loaded with patties and all the fixins you want.
They also have a good selection of salads, their greek salad is one of the best ive ever had as they have very good greek house dressing and load the salad with soft (not stale) feta.
There are tables for you to eat inside, but your probably better off taking it home, or better yet.....delievered.
They also do a very good breakfast, almost all of the items are delicious.
I don't even live in Georgetown and yet I will make a trip to this place. Â The service is top notch. Â I can only comment on two things, the chicken kebob salads and the pizza. Â The salads are huge and soooo good. Â My friend lives in the area and when I visit, I ALWAYS stop here on my way to her house. Â There is always parking out front and they also deliver.
