We had a Travelzoo deal for an app, 2 entrees, and 2 glasses of wine.
Pros: Our service was awesome. Travis, our server, gave great suggestions about the wine list and was very knowledgeable about the menu. He was great! Also, the wine and the ambience was very good.
Cons: The food. The bread was cold, like sitting-in-a-refridgerator cold. Our appetizer (lobster ravioli) came out lukewarm/cold and had pieces of shell in it. Our entrees were just okay. My sea bass came out in a large bowl full of a too-salty tomato-y sauce and my wife's chicken piccata had almost no flavor.
Overall, we probably won't come again unless they get a new chef.
Waiter was great throughout the meal. We had a groupon. App (lamb) was good but small and our meals were good...I had the beef and he had the salmon and dessert was something with pineapple.  Martini and sangria for drinks....both a bit small  Then when we were done we waited and waited and waited for the bill and he explained there was a 'special tax' because of the groupon (never heard of this before).  Was hot outside and they definitely need their AC serviced. We were both sweating and uncomfortable. Made the long wait for the bill more painful!  We will not return.
Review Source:Ugh. Â Went there for lunch to escape the office for an hour and sat at the bar. Â I was the only one there, but the bartneder decided to turn on techno music, drowning out the TV, as soon as I sat down. Â When I asked him to turn the music off, he did then turned the volume on the TV off. Â He also kept leaving for several minutes at a time and I had to wait quite a few minutes for my bill.
The food was marginal - the crab cake was a little burned on the bottom and the crab shredded so finely that it had cat food consistency - not good. Â The cuban sandwich was decent but the fries were terrible - limp, soggy and oily. Â Won't be back.
This place is such a hidden gem. Â Ok, maybe it's not so hidden with its prominent location on Broad Street...just takes getting down there to find it.
Dara is such a delight and makes a kickass martini. Â Her adorable smile and quirky little comebacks add to the relaxed charm of this place.
Oh, in the mood for some late night eats? Â Truffle parmesan fries. Deadly. Yet oh so delicious.
Horrible all around... With the exception of the prosciutto potato pizza - that was delicious. Â We were there for a department lunch, 12 of us, and the service was horrible. Â With 12 people, I don't expect the food to be prepared quickly, but given there were only 2 other tables the entire time we were there, no reason why it took us 2.5 hours to eat lunch. Â Our server was bad, food orders were wrong or just didn't come at all, no apologies offered as to why it was taking forever for the food to come. Worst part was that they automatically tacked on 18% gratuity because we were a large party. Â No wonder they didn't care about the level of service provided.
Also, the truffle mac n cheese was some of the worst mac n cheese I've ever had. Â The noodles were really overcooked and the sauce was bland and watery with some unmelted parm cheese sprinkled on top.
With so many other lunch places in the financial district, don't even bother with VIntage.
OMG. Prosciutto Potato Truffle Pizza. A bunch of words that have never before occurred in my mouth all at once. And what amazingly delicious words!!! It even reheated really well.
Vintage Lounge is a nice quiet spot for lunch, dinner, or drinks. A classy place to go when you want to have a conversation with someone. The fries are fantastic too.
Located in the middle of the financial district. The place is perfect for a drink with co-workers but also, the food is far above average for that kind of place. Not too crowded, relaxing lounge music. All good. But the real attraction of this place is Caitlin the barmaid. Her charm will make you forget even your most miserable days at work.
Review Source:Went here for a quick bite to eat with a few people interviewing me for a position at a company located in Two International Place. Â We went for lunch on a week day and were the only ones there. Â The service was slow, but the staff was friendly and the food was excellent! Â I ordered a Classic Wedge Salad and it was phenomenal! Â I don't often enjoy getting salads for meals, but I would order this again in a heartbeat. Â The lettuce was crisp and fresh, and the bacon, blue cheese, and chicken really added great flavor.
Review Source:I've been to the bar side several times. I like this place; they have comfy chairs and lounge seating and exceptionally nice/ attentive bar tenders . The food is OK, the duck spring rolls are very good although they are VERY small. Generally i have NO complaints about liquor pricing, i know how Boston is, but last night I paid $30 for two small shots of cafe patron with ice chunks in them, maybe i wouldn't have minded paying that much if they were straight up martinis but come on..
Review Source:There is a nice spacious area in the back to grab and table and hang with friends after work. Â Good selection of wines by the glass and there is also a cocktail menu. Â Their food was OK but it was way overpriced. Â Their small bites menu are literally very small bites--as in 2 pieces of shrimp or an uber mini crab cake. Â We tried out the meze platter which was mostly just small groupings of veggies, which was good, but overpriced for what it was.
I think VL needs some better portion sizes/pricing for sharing dishes for people to munch on with their cocktails and less of a full meal menu.
I've been here 3 times in two business trips and each time have had excellent service and food. They've got a decent selection of beers, and while the interior is beautiful, it's also a great place to eat outside. I haven't tried too much of the food, mainly because I've enjoyed the tuna sashimi wrap so much and keep ordering it. Funny anecdote to wrap up review. We had eaten lunch here earlier in the day, and had time to kill before the train back to NY. So we asked the concierge at the hotel for a 'place we could drink outside.' As he wrote down the address, I realized he was sending us to the Vintage Lounge. AMUSING!
Review Source:Do you like going to restaurants where waitresses have no idea what's on the menu? Or what are in the dishes? Do you like going to bars posed as restaurants? Do you expect your cocktails to arrive 20 minutes after being seated? If so, then check out Vintage Lounge.
My husband and I checked out this place just because we wanted to try something new. We made reservations and were seated pretty quickly. Walked through the bar area to the back where the "restaurant" was located. Â There are only 10-15 tables tops in the area run by 2 waitresses. We ordered cocktails after we were seated and waited for nearly 25 minutes before they finally arrived right before our entrees. Sad thing is that we would have ordered wine too, but we waited so long to get our cocktails that at the rate it was going, we would have gotten our wine after our dinner.
While we were waiting for cocktails, we ordered the antipasta plate and the waitress brought it to the table and walked away without telling us what was on the plate. Only after I asked, did she come back to tell us what was on the plate but when I asked her to describe the cheese a little more, she said, "I don't know." Â
For entrees, based on the reviews here I ordered the scallop and lobster ravioli (full portion) and my husband ordered the filet mignon. Â My lobster and scallop ravioli was less than adequate. Â For $31, the full portion came with 4 ravioli and 2 miniature scallops. I'm scared to think what the half portion would be. My husband's steak was decent and was worth the $29 price tag.
For dessert, the waitress comes out and tells us the options for dessert: creme brulee, molten lava cake, blueberry pudding, and apple crisp. Â After we order the creme brulee and the apple crisp, the waitress smacks her head and says, "OH MY GOSH, I just realized that we sold out of the creme brulee. I'm so sorry. You're the 2nd person who I've broken their heart because they wanted the creme brulee." Really? Then don't tell me you have something when you don't. Â Then she asked me if I wanted one of the other options. Â Well, I don't like chocolate, and I don't like bread pudding. She then asked if I wanted coffee or tea, but I also don't drink coffee. I eventually ordered the apple crisp even though I didn't want it and my husband ordered the lava cake. The lava cake was all liquid lava and little cake. Â The apple crisp was burned and sickingly sweet. The only saving grace for the apple crisp was the vanilla bean ice cream. Â
This was definitely a bar and not a restaurant. I won't ever come here again. Poor service, overpriced food, incompetent wait staff, and bad food.
I purchased a Travel Zoo coupon for Vintage Lounge which included 2 glasses of wine, 1 appetizer, and 2 entrees. As soon as we sat down the waitress was very nice. However, as soon as i told her we had a Travel Zoo coupon (which i noted on my dinner reservation before i even got there...) i might as well have told her i ran over her dog on the way in. She just responded with "DID YOU GIVE IT TO THE GUY WHO SAT YOU?!?!"... Lets just say she didn't get much nicer there after...
For the wine i got the house Sauvignon Blanc which had a floater in the glass. Typically i'm all for added bonuses when i order things... but the dirty glass that the wine went into wasn't really the added bonus i was looking for. After dropping off the wine the waitress disappeared for an extended period of time. I attempted to flag her down several times as she scurried by but she ignored me. Finally she came over and i told her what happened and it looked like she just fished the floater out of the cup and then put a little bit of wine back in the cup.
For the app we decided on the Meze Sampler. Which came with hummus, artichoke, olive and tomato crudo, tabouli with carrots, spiced beet chips, green beans, and pita. The hummus was ok, the tabouli was really dry and seemed like it was rushed when it was made, and the artichoke, olive, and tomato crudo was pretty good. The carrots and green beans seemed limp and like they had sat out for a day or two and the beet chips were soggy and tasteless.
For my entree i went with the Sea Scallop & Lobster Pasta. When the plate came out it was in a white dish, and the ravioli and scallops were in a pool of white sauce with a big black blob of spinach in the middle which wasn't very aesthetically pleasing. The lobster raviolis were just ok. There were only about 3 or 4 of them on the plate, there wasn't anything spectacular about them. There were about 5 "jumbo" George's Bank Sea Scallops (which weren't very jumbo at all they were probably the size of a quarter) they were mushy and had no flavor. All i'm saying is a little spice goes a long way.
I will say even with the poor service from our waitress, and the less than stellar food, there were a few redeeming things about this place. The ambiance was pretty nice. The guy behind the bar was very quick to help us find our seats in the dining room and the girl who came around with the water, bused the tables, and brought us bread was one of the nicest, sweetest, most accomodating people i've ever seen in food service. Â She alone is the only reason i *generously* gave this place 2 stars.
I will most definitely not be returning.
**Update** The waitress for this establishment emailed me directly and apologized for the poor service. Though the apology was much appreciated i still stick by the original review.
This place is awful stay far away.made reservations on a Friday night,me and the bf wanted to go at 8 but they were booked until 9. We show up and wait for the hostess for at least 5 min.the place was pretty empty only 4 other couples so we were confused why we couldn't come at 8. Then as the night went on we realized why .the poor hostess girl was not only doing that but also making drinks, taking our orders and bussing  the tables.there was only one waiter who I think was the manager.
The whole experience was weird I bet there was only one chef too it was like three people running the place.
Oh and the reason why they take your food before your done (which the waiter/manager mentioned) is because they have no heat lamps .what???!!!! You couldn't pay me to go back to this sad establishment they call a restaurant.
I bought a gift certificate on Rue La La that includes an app, (2) entrees, and (2) desserts. Â
We went on a Sunday night and the place was empty, (which is to be expected on a Sunday night), the server we had must have been new or something b/c he wasn't a very good...
We ordered the mac and cheese with truffle oil - this was delicious! Â
I ordered the seafood bouillabaisse - which was very disappointing. Â The broth was like a tasteless tomato soup. Â The server mentioned that there was crustini coming, but it never came. Â
The husband ordered the steak and loved it, that came out really well. Â
Then the server asked if we wanted the check, (uh, we hadn't had any desserts yet?...)
So we tell the server that we'd like to order dessert so he says sure, and like never comes back... Â that is, until the other server comes back and gives us our dessert choices. Â
Husband orders the apple crisp and I order the chocolate lava cake. Â The apple crisp came out a little burnt, the chocolate lava cake was good, but mostly lava than cake.
Overall, I was disappointed, I had such high hopes, maybe during the week it is more happening? Â Not sure, but not sure that I would go back.
Why on earth is this isn't jam packed every night! Â The food is fantastic! Â I did this travelzoo deal and was able to try a few different things from the menu! Â OMG, truffle mac and cheese, onion soup, lamb, seafood ravioli with HUGE chunks of lobster! Â WOW!!!
That was my first dinner experience and it rocked, so I stopped by last night after a few beverages and had some truffled fries and a turkey club at 1am - love that the kitchen was still open!
The waitress was super cute and friendly, food came out quick and the prices are ridiculously reasonable!!!
Ummm, the owner is really nice too - and I think in an effort to get out how good the place is, they do groupons/buywithmes/travelzoo/ et al...so check it out!!!
Met up with some girlfriends here for after work, post-weekend catch-up drinks. We all got caught in a torrential thunderstorm right as we were heading over (thanks, Boston weather--the one storm of the day just had to be from 5-6pm) so we looked like bedraggled, sopping wet kittens by the time we arrived. Luckily, the only other people at the lounge were a raucous group of drunk investment bankers who paid no attention to us, so there was no one to point at us and laugh at our misfortune.
Dripping wet, I was in the mood to be cradled by my alcohol but a Hot Toddy was kind of out of the question so I settled for the libation equivalent of hot chocolate--a thick, creamy, insanely delicious Chocolate Strawberry martini, topped with a juicy red strawberry. What it lacked in warmth, temperature-wise, it made up for in heat, vodka-wise. Mmmmm.
The Tiramisu Martini was disappointingly too coffee-esque (like an iced coffee--zero chocolate) but the Lychee Pisco Sour was a delicious Asian take on a Peruvian favorite. Creamy yet tangy, sweet yet sour. And the Blueberry Pie Martini, made with Stoli blueberry vodka, Baileys Irish Cream, butterscotch schnapps and a graham cracker rim was glass-licking good.
A few of us munched on some delicious Truffle Parmesan Fries while we gabbed. They were plentiful and packed with truffle flavor. Definitely worth splitting a bowl of these with friends.
I wish this place were more T-accessible but if you happen to be in that State St/Aquarium dead zone and need a place to hang out and eat, drink and be merry, definitely come here. There's seating for all kinds of parties including comfy leather couches. I plan to come back at least a few more times before the weather turns abysmal.
This review is for dinner only:
We went there for a Saturday nite dinner. We got there and were presented with a bar and a closed off side bar that said private function. We really didnt know what to do, so a bouncer came up to us and asked if we needed help. We told him we had reservations, and he escorted us through the function to this back seated area behind a curtain... We were the only ones there and It was quite uncomfortable. We had a waiter that kept going back and forth passing hor'derves and waiting on us.
As a side note, there should be a limit on how talk you can be if you want to be a waiter. If you are close to 6'10", it is really hard for us sitting down here to hear you, especially if you have a low toned voice. Maybe a bar back, or bartender is your true calling...
Anyway, the food was just ok, sevice bad, atmosphere odd. Not a place I would ever go back to.
Our first encounter with the Vintage Lounge did not start perfectly. While I know that it's been a bad winter for everyone, someone at Vintage needs to break down and do some shoveling out front.
Once we found the entrance, we were seated immediately. You enter into the lounge area, walk through the middle of the restaurant where the hostess station is, and then all the way to the back where a small, intimate area of maybe 10 tables was sectioned off. Seeing as they could have stuck us in the lounge or in the open seating area, I was happy to sit in the quieter, more private area.
After a few minutes, our waitress came by and took our drink orders. As everyone has mentioned, there isn't a cheap drink to be found at the place. Since this was our first visit, the wife and I decided to start with the bites platter. This was a fun way to sample several different foods and is a great way to start a dinner if you're very hungry, or it would be nice snacking/bar food. The platter included:
-Baked brie en croute stuffed with apples, pears, and almonds: this was great. The pastry was fluffy and light and the brie was delicious. The only thing I didn't love was the crunch provided by the fruit and almonds. The flavors they provided were nice, but the texture was not my favorite.
-Fried Vermont chevre with cranberry compote: This was also very tasty. The cheese was nice and mild and the compote was a perfect accent.
-Chicken and pear pate on French toast crostini: I know I'm missing out on a chance to sound evolved here, but pate is not my thing and never will be.
-Jonah crab cake with chive aioli: I didn't love this as it tasted more of vegetables than anything else.
-Peking duck wonton with soy syrup: For me, this was the absolute highlight of the bites platter. There's not much detail I can go into here since the name describes it all. If this sounds like something you might like, you'll love it at the VL.
-Butternut squash souffle: This was quite nice. My only problem is that after other bites that included cheese, apple, pear, cranberry, and pear again, I was tired of eating sweet things and this was the sweetest of all of them. If this stood on its own, I would have enjoyed it more. Something a little more piquant would have been welcome in this slot.
For our entrees, I ordered the seared yellowfin tuna and my wife got the sea scallop and lobster pasta.
The tuna was fantastic, drizzled with a soy sauce glaze and served with room temperature jasmine rice and tempura delicata squash rings. The fish with the rice and the soy was almost like a deconstructed sushi roll sans nori, and was a pleasant and light combination of flavors. I wasn't excited about the squash rings but those turned out to be the highlight of the meal for me. Crisp but not crunchy and fluffy but not puffy... really outstanding. I'm also not sure if it was the oil used or my unfamiliarity with delicata squash, but there was a flavor in there I didn't expect and still can't place. Some kind of mild saltiness that brought the tempura and the tuna together. If the VIntage Lounge was a take-out place and the squash rings were on the menu, I would probably eat them every night.
I tried some of my wife's pasta and it was also really good. The sea scallops were just barely cooked, which was fantastic as it made the whole dish nice and soft, and the lobster ravioli were excellent. When the dish came out smothered in lobster cream sauce, I was afraid that we had been served some thick, gooey mess... not so! The sauce was just substantial enough to coat the pasta, but not so hearty that it coats your digestive system.
While we had already eaten plenty, we decided that the food was so good that we would be remiss to skip out on splitting a dessert and trying one of the wines paired with them. We waited for 15 minutes after our plates had been cleared.... our waitress had disappeared. We were in that back room with no one but another dining couple for quite a while. Once our waitress reappeared, she flew into the room carrying linens and begin taking down and setting up tables for tomorrow. At this point, I decided that destiny had intervened and dessert would not be happening. We had been at the VL for over 100 minutes and it was time to go.
Overall, the food at the Vintage Lounge is closer to 4.5-5 stars for what it is. Little detractions in other areas bring the total score to 4 stars. One weird thing was the music. When we walked in at 8:00, there was light music in the lounge and no music in the dining room. After about 20 minutes, they began pumping loud music into the dining room. This was odd because we had been nearly whispering so as not to disturb anyone else and then had to triple the volume of our voices to talk over the music. After adapting to this, the music stopped again. 5 minutes later, music returned at a background volume. Weird.
I liked this place a lot. Â Super friendly bartenders and good drinks. Â Small enough but not too crowded. Â And it's right in front of Hilton so very convenient to bring a girl to your room afterward. Â Totally kidding! Â
Lots of different types of food and great drinks here. Â If I am in town for work and need a place to get some food and drink alone, I think I would definitely come here again.
There is a new chef in town at Vintage so check it out!
The new Menu is coming out July 1st! I tried two pizza's during lunch recently. The size was bigger than I had expected thinking I was getting a "personal pan". Next time I'd order one and share.
One was a bit odd but I am odd so I figured I'd try it. Hmm didn't work for me with mash potato on it. However, the salmon one was delic. It had great pieces of salmon with fresh veggies and was really yummy.
I also couldn't resist the ice cream. Maple Carmel with pistachio. Again, another interesting combination but ooh so good. The size again is big so it is worth sharing.
The service was awesome. Â I met a friend and then a big party came in so it was hard to talk so they moved us and closed up the area a bit so we could hear each other.
With the new menu coming be sure to check it out!
i really really really was excited about going to vintage. I really wanted this to be one of my favorite bars. It was a fun and i did have a good time but they DON'T have St. Germain! Come on guys! Get on that!
I do have to say that the bartender is very adorable. I'll be back to visit soon.
I went here for a friend's birthday party not to long back and we all seemed to have a good time. It's kind of a funky place, you walk in to a relatively small space and then you can (if it's open) walk down a long hallway to another bar area. Now, the interesting thing was when I was there I came to realize the bathroom happens to be in one area where people seem to congregate--bad planning perhaps?
The drinks where pretty good, though a bit stiff and to be fair a bit on the expensive side. Unfortunately, I can't speak for the food, when I was there I was on a liquids only diet.
As for the ever important, "is it a good date place" question. Without having had the food I can't give too much of an opinion but I can say that the classiness of the place is nice and I'd consider taking a date there for drinks after dinner if I were in the vicinity.
In short:
If you're looking for a slightly more upscale place to grab a cocktail and mingle or take a date--and you're in the area--I'd check it out. But, I wouldn't make a special trip to Broad Street just to check out the Vintage Lounge.
I would like to give less than a star. Met with the owner. Excited to have my Bachelorette party here on a Saturday night. Because he told me there would be a DJ in both rooms and we show up to NOTHING.
Sorry but PS: the owner is a lawyer and he will be getting a letter from my lawyer.
It pains me to write one star reviews, as I always like to pull some glimpse of redemption out of each dining experience... but Vintage Lounge provided no opportunity for salvation.
So upon receiving our drinks, I look down to see a full on lipstick print on my pint glass. Â Not just a lip smudge, but a full on unwashed lipstick print. Â So, I kindly bring this to our server's attention, and she promptly removes the beer to bring another in a clean glass. Â Just as she leaves, my boyfriend notices that his glass is also full-on dirty with smudges and brown flecks stuck to the inside of the glass.
So, our server returns, and we bring the second dirty glass to her attention. Â The drink is replaced.
After a lengthy debate about whether we should just leave and call this experience a fail... we decide to stay and at least finish our drinks.
After finding both original drink glasses in the break-down lane, we were thinking that SURELY a manager would be over to apologize. Â Perhaps, based on this complete embarrassment, one or both of our beverages would be comped. Â CERTAINLY, they'd make some attempt to save face amidst TWO dirty glasses.
Alas, there was nothing but a quick apology from the waitress. Â No manager intervention to countervail this quandary.
Vintage Lounge did not seem to care about our return business, or their reputation, and therefore I will not return.
Visited the Vintage Lounge on a business trip to Boston and I must say it's probably one of the best bars I've visited. Â Like others have said, the atmosphere here is perfect - loungy music that isn't overbearing and you don't have to yell to have a discussion. Â
The staff is super-helpful and friendly as well, and always willing to make a drink or food recommendation.
Went here as part of an event through ABC Club Boston (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.abcclubboston.com%2F&s=3233872e5be595c76c9dbbf440ae5ecd3bfbad6e073bf9c092a0eb6458d603d3" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.abcclubboston…</a>).  The atmosphere is lounge-y, with dimmed lights and low, comfy chairs and tables.
Drinks are expensive. Â $7 for a beer is just too much, especially when it's the same for draft and bottle. Cocktails were $10-$15. Â But there are deals to be found on the wine list - we got a good bottle for $22. Â
They provided some free appetizers for the group - because I don't eat meat, the only ones I got to try were mini-cheese pizzas which were fine, if not anything special, and the french fries, which were delicious and perfectly salted.
Not really my type of place, so I'm not sure I'll be back, but I'd recommend it for people who like Enormous Room, Clink or that type of place.
I love this place! My friends and I stumbled across this little gem a couple weeks ago after giving up on waiting in lines at places I didn't want to go to in the first place.
Atmosphere is great - the music is present but not painfully loud, so you can talk to your mates without having to scream across the table at them; the sprawling leather benches are sleek and comfortable, and can easily accommodate large groups as well as small ones (one note here: there's not a lot of seating at all, but I've never had a problem with this place being overcrowded); Patrick the bartender is a great guy, recognized me after the second time I was there, and was incredibly accommodating the whole night...he mixed great drinks and by the end of the night was practically part of the crew.
True, the drinks are expensive (so are the bottles) but I think it's completely worth it for a little slice of cozy semi-quiet luxurious comfort away from the hustle and bustle of the other clubs in the area.
I've never had dinner here but I'd like to sometime, and I definitely plan on making it one of my regular haunts.
I get in late Sunday and I knew the kitchen was open at VL. No sooner than I walk in, Patrick the bartender brings me a 7&7 without even asking. I hadn't been here in over a month, I was impressed at the remembrance.
Food is still great and the people are very friendly. Still a big fan.
First off, this place is clean and pretty. Â The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Â However, the place had two major problems. Â We had a private party of over 100 and sadly only one bartender for most of the night. Â You can just imagine how difficult it was to get an $11 gin and tonic...yes $11..
Then there was the music...it just kept getting louder as the night progressed. Â So if you're going to this "lounge" Â to talk to people..good luck..you'll be lucky to walk out with your hearing. Â
All in all it was a decent place that a few improvements can surely make it a place I'd return to.
As a first timer, I had no expectations of Vintage Lounge. Â I was a little disappointed at the $10 cover ($15 for guys), especially since it was pretty dead when a group of us arrived (probably midnight). Â
The lounge is split into a latino dance floor and a hip hop club. Â Hip hop club was pretty creepy. Â There are tons of rather nasty dudes lining the walls watching a handful of music video model wannabes shake their assets like they don't give a damn. Â Didn't stay in that room very long. Â
I did however, spend the better portion of my night pretending to be some latin dancing fiend. Â When I wasn't scraping my jaw off the floor at how amazing everyone was, I was making a fool of myself with my boyfriend who was a great sport for letting me think this was the season finale of Dancing with the Stars.
It was an experience, that's for sure. Â Not positive that I'll be back. Â At the rate they were going at the bar, I probably won't get that drink I ordered until next Tuesday.
Great place to have grab cocktails and apps after work!! Â Â The drinks are delicious (a bunch of really great martini choices, you can't choose wrong) and the food really is great. Â Wait service can be a bit slow - I have experiencd far worse - but it is without attitude and is very friendly. Â Bartenders are great!
Friends and I attended a wine and dessert tasting not too long ago and it was FABULOUS!! Â Desserts were yummy and found a great new wine! Â Worth checking out!!
I really enjoyed this lounge. We had just light food, fries, hummus plate, but it was tasty and nicely presented. The whole place has a cool post-modernist feel to it, and you don't feel strange showing up in a suit and tie or jeans and t-shirt.
The service was a little disappointing - slow, slow, slow. I was also really disappointed that they charged me $8 a pop for Guinness in about an 8 ounce glass (seemed like about 2 swallows) - Guinness is supposed to come in pints! They did have some very nice specialty martinis.
I do not do justice based on a fleeting trip here- let's just treat this as a prelude to the real review, cos if I am back in Boston, I intend to cough up some cash and soak in the scene at this anything but vintage lounge. For a brief scoping trip, I was smitten - two bars for the serious drinkers, a few leather cubes and couches spaced out to create a trendy lounge look for those sparkling conversations and tucked away in the back, a formal yet intimate white-table cloth dining space for the serious diners - here's a one-stop shop for the night. All I can comment on food-wise is their cream of tomato soup which was expensive and SO good! Nothing spectacular on the menu, but a very respectable wine-list makes up for that.
Note to self - return trip due to VL
Vintage Lounge is the greatest place ever... I discovered the place on a business trip in June 2007 (that drug on for about 3 weeks) to Boston, and I stayed at the Hilton Financial on the same block... The bar tender (AL) immediately became one of my great friends, and I ended up at VL for dinner every night - the food is phenomenal and I just couldn't get enough... the drinks are fabulous as well... on my most recent trip back to Boston from San Francisco, I (again) went there every day - I SO fell in love with the Pomegranite Martini's, although, they are WAY too pricey ($15 a pop!) but one will keep you buzzing for a while... on my last afternoon there, I had just about everyone in there trying to find me a later flight out of Logan just so I could stay a little bit longer...
Whether you live in Boston, or travel there for business, or vacation, this is a FABULOUS place to frequent... tell them the girl from San Francisco sent you!!
Thanks to our fearless leader Ligaya, I have decided to explain my star rating. Starting with five stars:
- one star for lacking a Vintage drink list (Golden Cadillac, Pilot, Mint Julep etc.)
- one star for lacking Vintage decor
+ one star for excellent Vojitos (Mojito sub vodka) with fresh sugarcane.
- one star for playing the Pointer Sisters' Neutron Dance
= three stars

A low key lounge. Works for me as I can't stand the other lounges that are loud; where people think that they can dance and create their own dance floor and keep bumping into me and spilling my drinks.
The bartender is very polite and cool and makes an excellent Vojito. and garnishes them with real sugarcane! One time I came in and asked for a Singapore Sling and the same bartender gave me a strange look and said, "Isn't that really retro and old-fashioned?".
I retorted, "Isn't this the VINTAGE Lounge??". Check Mate.
He laughed and admitted defeat.
