A Whistle Stop Ale House

Two thumbs up from me!  The moment we walked in the door, the owner of the place welcomed us and invited us to sit down at the bar (it was just me and my friend).  We were given drinks and menus, and ordered the lemon pepper calamari.  Holy crap was it good!  I ordered a steak salad while my friend had a sandwich.  Both just AWESOME.  I agree with another Yelper about the parking - pretty much non-existent.  But there is plenty of street parking.  I would definitely recommend this place if only for the calamari!  Please sir, can I have some more???

Comfy homey atmosphere and good food with lots of choices. Love coming here with family---easy parking and excellent service all around. There is a great kids' menu which is helpful, and the booths are big enough for everybody to sit together (6 of us last time but I think 8 would fit). Kids eat free on Mondays--how cool is that? It's not noisy and everyone is friendly. Reminds me of cafes my own parents used to take us back in the day, and that's not just because of the nostalgic decor hanging from the ceiling!

Went there tonight with my fiance' and future mother-in-law.  Wasn't very busy at all, which is usually a red flag to me, but I had been there once before with pretty good results, so we went anyway.

We were seated and had drinks within 5 minutes, and our order taken within 15 minutes, giving us some good time to chat over our drinks.  The food came out not 10 minutes later, when we realized we made a mistake on one of the orders.  My fiance' has a dairy allergy and forgot to tell the waiter to remove the cheese from the sandwich.  When we let him know we goofed up, he offered to make a new one, no problems or questions asked.  The remade sandwich came out about 5 minutes later, with plenty of time for all of us to eat together.

Needless to say they got a great tip.
