Checked in here for a quick bite with drinks before a show at Laugh Out Loud with a group of friends. Whatever came out of their kitchen was completed perfectly in taste and quite diverse as well. They had typical yet tasty bar food items, but what truly shines are their uses of the brick oven on they have on hand. Their flatbreads and skewer creations really sets them apart and I highly recommend going in that direction if paying a visit.

On a Saturday night they also featured some drink specials as well where in the city is usually unheard of for a weekend night.

Service was perfect. Don't know why previous yelpers have been hawking on the place as of late...

Service was slow. 15 minutes before server came by for drinks. Meals took another 30 minutes to arrive.

Lunch date on a quiet Wednesday afternoon.  Arrived at the noon hour and there were a handful of people here.  I love how airy and bright it is here...perfect bar setting, but also great for lunch and dinner meals.

The food is terrific.  It was my first visit here, but my hubby's been here several times now (usually w/coworkers) and has been raving about it, so we had to go.  I had the meatloaf sandwich which was perfectly seasoned and tender...and the bread was toasted just right.  Choice of homemade chips or fries...I opted for chips and they were cooked and prepared just right (well, at least how I like them...not greasy, sliced thin but not too thin, and crispy/crunchy).

Hubby had the short rib sandwich.  I took a bite and it which was just as great as the meatloaf (actually better, and next time I'll be ordering that!), with the homemade fries (seasoned and crispy!).

Next time I want to also try the Lobster Mac & Cheese which my husband's a fan of.  Lots of great menu choices.

It was quiet and we enjoyed good conversation...we also liked the flatscreen TVs to catch the news or ESPN/games on at that time.  Again, perfect for our lunch, but I also imagine it'd be a great setting for a night out to catch a game or have drinks with friends, particularly after a movie at the theater next door.

It's a smaller sized place (bar on the side of the restaurant when you enter), but would hold a good-sized crowd.  Service was great too, very friendly and efficient.

    Two thumbs up!

Flatbread is good. Decent beer selection. Prices are reasonable. Service not so good. Not a good place to watch a game. TVs are in awkward places. If you have one of the few good seats, it's fine - if not, you're screwed. I would stop by again (and pray for a good available seat) but would NOT go out of my way for this place.

Wicket's Bar and Grill is at the Streets of Woodfield in Schaumburg, Illinois. You can find it across from the parking garage. Years ago, Dick Clark's Diner was in the same spot. The restaurant that followed Dick's was shut down by the health department (according to our very chatty and amusing waiter). It seems neither place lasted very long. Hopefully that won't be true of Wicket's.

I stopped at Wicket's on a Monday afternoon when the place was almost empty. At the time I dined in, I saw a handful of corporate types and retired people. Wicket's is small and most of the seating is on high bar stools. I'm a little lady but I imagined to boost myself up onto the seat without assistance. I'm more for booth seating, but this place is a bar so it's fine as-is. All around me were televisions of various sizes showing sports channels. The television near the bar was particularly huge, about the size of an entire wall.

For my drink, I ordered the Grapetini, which is a grape martini. It was a bit weak for my liking. It tasted mostly like grape juice. If I return to Wicket's, I hope for a stronger martini. The lunch item I ordered was the Char-grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich with Fries. The sandwich was served on lightly toasted ciabatta bread, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The chicken was tender, juicy, and rubbed in herbs. The herbs provided nice, mild flavoring. On the side, I was given a white sauce for the sandwich, which I presume was a cucumber sauce. It wasn't advertised in the menu listing. The Fries were quite salty and had me drinking all night. In all, I really enjoyed my lunch and the friendly atmosphere at Wicket's.

I hope Wicket's avoids the fate of its predecessors. It is an inviting bar with good food and a convenient stop after a movie nearby. I would return when I am in the area again sometime.

After tonight's experience, it's time for an update. I'm not changing my four star rating, but I did want to hit on a few things. I've been in a few times now and tonight was the first time with my husband. He just doesn't love food. To him it's all just food. To me, finding good food is important and almost a challenge that's never ending.

He tried the braised short rib sandwich with fries and I went with the tilapia sandwich. Mine was even better than the first time. There was a nice kick and the fish was seasoned really well. The fries were a little too salty for my liking. He liked his sandwich, but didn't love it. Since I can't remember the last time that he 'loved' food, I'm not too concerned here. He ate all four of the nice, thick pickle slices from our plates.  We had the chicken samosas to start and they were delicious!  He was a fan as well. I've had them before and they were more doughy. These were nice and flaky served with two dipping sauces. A mango chutney and a cucumber sauce.

Didn't realize that the unlimited refill soda is only $1.50. That's a plus in my book. And Peter, our server tonight, was all over that business. We never went thirsty (even with very salty fries)!

They were packed on this Saturday night and I was so glad!  Lots of football fans eating, drinking and having a good time. The atmosphere was pretty lively and much better than previous visits.

Finally, I am sad to report that their carrot cake is no longer being served. I loved this cake!  Carrot cake is my hubby's favorite and I was sooo getting a piece to go when I discovered that they don't carry it anymore. Sounds like it had something to do with food costs.

One more thing, they're a Belly location. I just discovered the Belly app the other day, so I'm still learning, but I think I can earn free food after multiple visits.

Still very good. Atmosphere improved. No complaints from us.

This is my second time coming here. I mostly come for the booze, and while it looks classy, and in an expensive-ish area, I leave with a modest bar tab. The people here (especially bartenders) are *underlined* very helpful and friendly. The last time I went was a Sunday during football season, and with a simple request, the turned one of the TVs to the Saints game (yay!). I know that's a common bar request, but since this feels like "not your average bar" I thought it would be helpful to mention. Both times coming here, we stayed for a prolonged period of time. Not once did we feel rushed or unwanted. They readily informed us of the cheapest beers and specials. We weren't a dollar sign, but treated well. It's like a fancier, contemporary version of Cheers...  minus Kirstie Alley and Ted Danson.

Was there this week for lunch. Are you kidding? Loved the place when it first opened. Now it is a shame.NO ONE in there!
No atmosphere. Kind of feels like a cave in there. Lousy service. Staff busy talking to an old man drinking at the bar. Won't be back, too many good restaurants to go to.

This place opened in the back of Streets of Woodfield a few months ago and I always forget about it. Decided to look at the menu online and saw a few good craft beer selections. After convincing my wife to check it out we rolled in on a Sunday night. I expected to place to be packed because football and stuff, but there were only a few people inside.

The food was pretty good, I had a flatbread that was pretty much a pizza. Still good, just thicker than I was expecting. So that's good but here's the problem. The service was absolutely atrocious. We didn't see our waitress for long stretches of time. I had no drink for a good chunk of my meal. It was almost 15 minutes after we got our food that our waitress came back to check on us. Like I said. Not busy. No reason we couldn't find her.

So, a weird place all in all. Should be packed but isn't. Has good food and drink. But lousy service. I wonder how long a place like this can stay open in the sure to be expensive to be in Streets of Woodfield.

Been here a few times with the GF and we walk away with the same impression every time

The food? Pretty decent to good actually. The Turkey Burger and Hummus are excellent. Hard not to finish the entire plate. Wings are pricey, but they are big and full of flavor. They have really great lunch specials if you work in the area where you can get a great sandwich and soup for under $10. So why two stars?

What's consistently disappointing about this place is the service. We've been during the week, weekend, lunch, dinner sat at tables and at the bar and every time I would describe the service as lacking to be generous. We've noticed at times it seems they are woefully understaffed and also have servers who seem either under trained or just disinterested

I don't know if I've ever had a server there welcome me and tell me their name. Check backs and refills are virtually non-existent. Being in the service industry, it takes a lot for me to be disenfranchised with the service because I know how difficult it can be, but this place really pulls it off.

It's not surprising seeing a lot of people with similar complaints. I hope the management takes this as constructive criticism and spends the time and effort to adequately staff  and train their employees. It's a great location and should be a booming business, but the lackluster service is really holding it back.

The food is pretty good, but hard to say we will ever be back especially with places like Westwood in the area that generally have excellent food and service.

Came to Wickets on a cold rainy Saturday afternoon and the place was pretty dead... Kinda sacred me that no body was there but service was friendly. I was looking for a place that severed Lobster mac and cheese and score found this place on yelp! It was pretty good with nice chucks of lobster but maybe next time I could do without the bread crumbs it was a little much. When it arrived it looked kinda small but I was full and still had left overs. I also got a cup of chicken noddle, it was more like a bowl! It was good just a little to seasoned with spices for me. My boyfriend got the chili and fish tacos and said both were good.

I will be avoiding this place at all costs...which actually won't be hard.

Back story: wrote a review in February. Owner contacted me and offered a $15 gift card.

I've had this gift card since February and thought last night was the perfect time to use it. We were going to see a movie at 7:50 pm. We arrived at Wickets around 6:50 pm. The plan was to order a quick appetizer and then take off to the theater next door.

When we arrived, we were promptly seated but not before the hostess licked her fingers to retrieve the "specials of the week" menu. You know how you lick your finger to turn a page? That is what she did. Even my bf mentioned it when we sat down. If a guy notices something like that, you probably shouldn't do it. Licking fingers in a restaurant should be a no-no.

Anyways, we are seated and about a minute or so later, our server came by and took our drink order (I don't recall her name but she had dark blonde curly hair that was pulled back). We ordered 2 soft drinks. Nothing complicated. Well, she never came back. There was a table next to us of about 6 people that came in shortly after us. Their server (different than ours), took their drink order AND delivered their drinks (all beer/alcohol) before we even received ours. I watched as our waitress walked casually around the restaurant. She brought mayo to a table, went to the bar area and talked to a group of older guys and even stood by the kitchen pickup area for a few minutes just standing there. We waited approximately 10 minutes (we timed on our phone) before getting up and leaving. We didn't have hours to sit around so if its taking 10+ minutes to get a coke and diet coke, how long will it take to get our meal? Maybe we were invisible? It really felt like she just completely forgot we were there. The place wasn't that crowded either.

I am pretty bummed because I wanted to try the pulled pork nachos (special for that week) PLUS we had to now order over priced food at the theater...we were starving and was planning on having Wickets fill that void.

Based on this experience, and the previous experience, I can confidently say I will NEVER EVER go to Wickets again!!

Now, I have this $15 gift card which I will be throwing in the garbage. I'd rather do that than give it to any family/friends because I wouldn't want them to have the same crappy experience that I've had.

Note to the manager or owner: Please don't contact me again. Nothing you can say or do will make me want to step foot into your establishment again.

Ok, why was this my first time coming here!?!?!?

Love this place! Right next to the AMC Theater at the Streets of Woodfield, great addition!!!  The hubby and I came here with a friend for dinner last night and we really enjoyed it!

The location seemed a bit small, but they had PLENTY of tables! We were seated right away on a Friday night at 7pm!  I ordered the Vegetable Sandwhich...I am praying that is a regular menu item beacuse it was AMAZING! Ok, I don't like tomatoes, but it had tomatoes, zuchini and fresh mozarella on a cabatta bun with some pesto type mayo...OMGEE it was so good.  I couldn't wait to eat the leftovers today!  The fries were very yummy as well!  The hubby ordered the black and bleu burger, which he said was very good as well!

They had some drink specials going on when we were there, pretty good prices I must say!  During football games, they seem to have awesome food and drink specials as well!  I would love to come here for a football game and try their wings!

Service was excellent.  Our waiter was good, and they constantly had people coming around to check our table to clear it, or if we needed anything.

Definately will be coming back here very soon!!!

Horrible, horrible, horrible. If I could give a zero rating I would. The place was dead for Sunday football. No service when we were seated because the hostess "forgot". Ordered a turkey burger that came out plain.. and I mean no lettuce, onion, tomato, ketchup, nothing. Took over 25 minutes for this burger as well and was asked how I wanted it cooked? Um bro turkey is cooked well EVERYTIME unless you want to give me food poisoning. We asked the server what was on it and he had to get a menu because he had no clue. All the other servers were at the bar watching the football game too so we didnt even have silverware. We got up and left. Never going back.

Went looking for a lunch place at the Woodfield mall before a client meeting the other day. A colleague and I settled on this place over Shaws as we assumed the service would be faster. The food was fine and about what I would expect from a suburban American  restaurant. I went with a cup of chili and a Caesar salad. What I got was the largest cup of chili ever (might as well have served it in a mixing bowl) and a non memorable Caesar. Next time I'm in the area looking for a food option, I'll probably look elsewhere, but the service was good enough and I'm sure it plays well with the suburban mall crowd.

if i had to rate wickets on a scale of 1-10, especially after their interaction on facebook? they'd hit a solid 1.5.

Wickets serves a flatbread that they tout as being fantastic, spectacular, insert other superlatives here. however the truth of the matter is it is very undercooked, to the point where the dough is raw in the middle. not only that but when you advertise a specific type of lettuce in a salad and serve it with iceberg instead, thats just disgusting. and to boot, wickets refuses to acknowledge any negative customer complaints on their facebook page; they'd rather delete the comments so no one else sees the negative opinion.

i wont ever return here, and if you continue these types of business practices and continue to serve raw food, i doubt wickets will even be AROUND to visit a year from now.

Really exceptional service. Our server was Carlos, and if I went back I would ask for him again.

I grabbed dinner with my dad after work, and wanted to try somewhere new. After already giving us some suggestions, my dad asked for more and Carlos quickly obliged. We ended up ordering the fish tacos and the skewers plate (which Carlos even had split for us since we wanted to share). Both were really good. The rice for the skewers was great.

I wanted to order a drink, but if you know me at all I'm a typical drink menu girl. They only had martinis on their drink list, so I asked if that was the only drink menu. It was, but Carlos said if I didn't see something I wanted he could have something else made. I told him I like sweet drinks but usually not juice. He got me a malibu, peach schnapps with cranberry and a splash of pineapple. It was decent, not the best drink ever, but hey there was an effort to make me happy.

We were always asked if we liked what we ordered, he also offered to get me another drink if I wasn't happy with mine. Addressed my dad by his last name when he brought back the bill, and even ran over to get the door for us on the way out.

I really can't remember the last time I've had such great service. It really makes going out to eat even that much better, and I would definitely go back and hope that he is there.

I can't believe this place isn't busier.  I've been three times and it's never very crowded, but my experiences have been great.

    I've tried:
    - Burger and Soup lunch special
    - Flat-bread Pizzas
    - Wing Appetizers

The burger is one of the best around; large patty on a soft, buttery bun.  Very tasty.  And the Tomato Soup is absolutely fantastic!  They even serve it with a little grilled cheese sandwich/crouton.

The flat-breads are pretty good, too.  Last night I had the sausage and pepper.  I've also enjoyed the artichoke and tomato/mozzarella.  The best thing about these is that they have an ongoing promotion with the AMC theater next door (Streets of Woodfield) so they're FREE with a movie stub.

Service is good but not especially fast.  If you can get over that, I highly recommend Wickets.

    I TRIED:
    - Grande Nachos (2/10)
    - Grilled Chicken Tikka Sandwich (3/10)
    - Skewer Sandwich: Beef w Veg (3/10)

So, I'm on a roll this week for trying out new places that took over defunct places. First Lincoln's Whiskey Kitchen (replacing Ted's) and now Wickets (replacing Asiago...I think). Whatever, never went to Asiago or the place before it. SO here I am, setting foot in new territory in Schaumburg!

Except...I set foot in here, and wasn't really sure what to do next. See, I make it a point that when I review restaurants, I review food. Imagine the kind of ratings Wiener Circle would get if you bothered to introduce service into the star rating, or a dozen other busy dive places that only crank out great street food without worrying about service. But this was pretty outrageous.

We went for lunch, and waited in the front for a good minute (no one at the counter) before someone walked up to us and seated us. Then waited a good 5 minutes before someone (manager?) took our drink order, then 30 seconds later, the waitress introduced herself to take our drink order. Forgetting the fact that we've been doing nothing but read the menu like 50 Shades of Grey for the last 5 minutes, she says "oh" and just walks away! Drinks come out (yay!) but it's not our waitress, so she doesn't take our order. More minutes later, waitress comes back asks for food orders. We order appetizer and 2 entrees. 40, yes FORTY! minutes later, we get our appetizer. How hard is it to make nachos?! And no, they were not busy. Grand total of 20 people in the place. Another 15 minutes, entrees come out. Never visited after that. I had to flag down another waitress to get our check. The credit card in the billfold sits on the table for about 5 minutes before it's actually picked up. Boredom ensues. We leave without a "bye!" or a "Thanks!" or anything. There is NO "front of the house" in this establishment! There was never a person at the front for more than 30 seconds! I watched 3-4 different parties show up at the front wait for minutes, and one even walked out. Ok, I'm done ranting.

...Wait! What excites me about this review, is that the food sucks. So I don't have to torture myself with giving them a good score because the food is worth the bad service. Ok, now I'm done ranting, about the service at least.

    NACHOS
Bars, Sports Bars, Restaurants, Fast Food chains, 7-11. They all have decent nachos. This...is not one of them! When a menu says "taco meat," it's a little suspect. The size is not nearly as "grande" as they say it is, and on top of that, this thing is drenched in salsa/chili. There is actually a pool! Once they deliver it, you can munch on a few chips, but within 2 minutes, you find yourself eating this with a fork. Nachos have all pretty much dissolved into this mush in the middle of the plate. So, texture is offensive. Taste? It's like someone took Taco Bell nachos, and tried to get really fancy, without knowing what they were doing. It's a mess, it's disgusting, and tastes terrible.

    TIKKA SANDWICH
The place looked classy enough, so I ordered a classy item (International = Classy). It's literally, ciabatta bread, and a chicken breast. When I say no frills, I mean as plain as water flavored popsicles. Ok, it gets points for not tasting like and feeling like cardboard, but not much more. I was drenching every piece in the yogurt sauce, but in the end, it's just edible. Fries were crispy, which was good, but tasted as plain as oxygen scented potpourri.

    SKEWER
Just had a piece of the steak, and it was cooked medium well-well done (yuck). Also these are, as my friend put it, "cinder block sized pieces," and I can't imagine these ever claiming residency on a wooden skewer without destroying it. Extremely light smoke flavor, pretty dry, and no fun.

    NO Ws HERE
I really love the decor. It's very urban, and reminds me of when I lived in the city (and I LOVE the city). BUT, food sucks, service sucks, and I don't ever want to come here again. I'll watch an 80's Bulls exhibition game on my iPod eating saltines, drinking a Zima before trying Wickets again. HOW DO YOU SCREW UP NACHOS?!?!?! 1 Star Lounge for Wickets!

I came here the other night with friends after we had made a stop at the mall. I didn't even realize this place had opened (better marketing maybeeee?). It was a weeknight at dinner, and dead. This gave me a scare, but we were here so I may as well stay.

We got a few drinks, which were good. Their prices are not cheap, but they do have drink specials. Their menu has some interesting items that you don't usually see at your average burger place. I ended up getting a burger and some mac and cheese to share with a friend. I was very pleased - the meal was very good! Our server was very attentive, patient, and nice. They even split the burger for us on a separate plate since they knew we were sharing.

They need to do something to liven this place up because they have some great food and a nice atmosphere. I would recommend it and go back again!

I want to like this tiny place but during a noon lunch hour it was completely empty!! I had the chicken skewers and they were just ok.

I'm sorry but I'm just not gonna give my heart to a place that will soon be shut down for lack of revenue!!

This place had good food and good prices.  Stopped in here on a weekday for lunch and the place was empty.  My mom and I both got sandwiches, hers was grilled cheese (with four types of cheese) and mine was braised short rib sandwich.  The fries were so good.  I could eat a huge plate full of them.  The sandwiches were also really good.  The only bad thing about the place is that the menu isn't very clear about what comes on the sandwich.  My sandwich came with a bunch of onions and I had to ask for a new one.  I felt bad, but it never said anything about onions on the menu.

Service was good.  The waitress was really friendly.

We went on a Monday night for drinks and possibly more if atmosphere was better. had scheduled to order pizza but decided ahead of time if we were having a great time at the bar, we could stay there to eat and watch the hockey game.  We went in and there was probably 3 other tables filled, and this place is huge.  There are TV's all over the place but the volume was only on the Basketball game.  We were watching hockey and baseball so it was confusing to have sound for basketball while watching two other sports.  We wanted to watch Hockey.  We stayed till the game we wanted to watch came on, still sound was on Basketball (which I understand because we were in Chicago afterall).  The game we were interested in was the Blues.  We left when the game came on, went back to the hotel.  Drinks were moderately priced.

Just know before you go that the kitchen closes at 9.  We went back on Tuesday night for a late dinner and we were greeted at the door with.  "Just wanted you to know that our kitchen is closed already.  It closes at 9."  I think it was just 9 - maybe a litte after.  We went somewhere else....

Super friendly service, dependable food --with good, fresh veggies. Entrees were a little salty, but man, were potatoes delicious. And the staff could not have been nicer -- exactly the right level of attention. Not too much, but very alert and present for questions, with additional silver, etc.

Definitely a good spot for a casual, comfortable, friendly dinner.

I am SO glad I didn't just judge this place by my first experience and not return.  I am really glad I gave it a second chance!!

My husband wanted to come here for his birthday dinner, so four of us met here at 6:30 on a Friday night.  It wasn't overly busy when we got there, and there was no wait for seating.  That being said, it did pick up throughout the rest of the night, but even when we left around 8, there wasn't a wait.  Which is good for us, but shows that it's not as busy as it should be!!

I hope this place makes it!

We had the same waitress as I had on my previous visit, and she really upped her game for this time.  She remembered me only after I had asked for my salad to come out before the meal!!  I had decided to be as specific as I could to try and give everyone the best chance :)

We ordered calamari, and it was SO delicious!  The dipping sauce was fairly standard, but oh WOW was the actual calamari and breading amazing!  VERY yum!

For my meal, I got the roasted chicken.  It was really good, and the mashed potatoes were really well-seasoned as well!  My cake martini (on special that Friday night) helped me wash down the deliciousness!

The fries are really good, and my husband ordered the southwest burger or something along those lines.  He really enjoyed it!  I snuck a bite of my friend's lobster mac n cheese, and the REAL lobster in it was delightful!!

    I will DEFINITELY be back!!

I think I have told just about everyone I have talked to this week, about Wickets: my new favorite place in Schaumburg. I'm sooooooooo happy my sister talked me into making this our dinner choice Saturday night.

I have to say, I was shocked that the line wasn't out the door. I think they just have a crappy location. Don't worry, Wickets, your time will come. They are alllllllll reading my Yelp review and they will come. I promise. (well, no guarantee, but I'm gonna try)

First glace, I love the atmosphere. A very nice, clean, relaxing atmosphere with a TV every 6 inches. Perfect place to get the boys to come when us ladies wanna enjoy some nice dinner.  About 5 minutes in, I looked at my sister and I have to say, its just so cozy in here. I love it!

We were just here for some apps and possibly dinner depending on how the apps went and then we were going to be off to another place for a cocktail or two, but somehow, we just couldn't leave this place.

Aimee greeted us with her sparkling personaliy and smiling face and she knew that we had a plan. We started with an app of calamari. We enjoyed every single bite. It was fresh. It was delicious. It had jalapeno slices breaded and mixed in. Creative and spicy!!!! Very innovative. Gold star for Wickets!

My sister had been going on and on about their chicken soup since her visit the previous weekend. I'm a HUGE soup fan. She knows it and so does anyone that reads my reviews. If a place has good soup, they have Catherine P. as a patron. Simple as that.

We ordered a cup of their soup and informed our server that we were going to share it. So splitting it, was a good option. Wait for it...................she split it for us without us having to ask. Another Gold Star, that one's for you, Aimee! Their soup has huge chunks of white meat, beautiful noodles, lovely veggies and a hint of lemon. Oh man, you didn't know chicken soup could be such a topic for discussion, did you? Well, if you go to Wickets, and order yourself a cup (which is actually a bowl, I might add), you will know why I'm carryiing on like this.

After the soup, we decided that dinner was not going to happen. We decided on trying out the Chicken Samosas. Something totally different and this is the place if I'm going to venture out of the norm. Everything just seems to be of higher quality, including the service.

I was impressed. I'm so glad, this place is close to home. It almost seems Oak Brook-esque and I'm glad they chose Schaumburg's Streets of Woodfield. I believe we will be going again Friday night and I can't wait.

The one and only flaw, ALL of their tables, are high tops, so I do not forsee bringing in any older, more fragile people from my family. I mean, I don't see Grandma climbing up into one of their chairs. Perhaps, a thought for the future, Wickets.

My co-workers and I decided to celebrate the end of a busy week at work at Wickets in Schaumburg.  We were looking for a place for drinks, appetizers and maybe a meal.  We did not expect to receive such exceptional service.

First of all, the drinks were great and fairly priced.  There was even happy-hour rates up to 6pm during the weeknights.

For appetizers, I have to say the sliders were awesome.   The Asian meatball appetizer was really good also.

For entrees, most of us had the Wicket Skewers (either chicken or beef) and they were very tender.   The "Wickets Potato Hash" which came as a side dish with the skewers were really good also.  One of my co-workers ordered Salmon and said it was cooked perfectly and seasoned well.

Our server was Amy, and she made our first time visit to Wickets all worth it.   Amy was informative of their menu and offered great recommendations.   She was attentive, without being overbearing.   The restaurant manager even came by and checked on us.

We had a table of six and each of us were impressed with the service.  We will definitely come back to Wickets again.

Met some friends at Wickets before seeing a movie next door.  With the free garage parking right across the street, this is the perfect place to meet up before a movie.  There weren't too many people in at 530 pm on a Wednesday, but they had TVs showing the baseball game, and a sunny, comfortable ambiance.

Our waiter was a bit weird - it's hard to explain, but my friends said that they've had this guy before and he's always this way.  Just one of those awkward people, I guess, who makes you feel uncomfortable even just asking if you're ready to order.  I know that not all the servers are this way, as the woman who came by to refill our water glasses was bubbly and friendly.

I had the spinach/artichoke/fontina flatbread.  It was better than I expected, with a real wood-fired taste.  In the future I'd get a different flatbread - the spinach on it was raw, and there was TONS of it  I expected it to be wilted - it's a bit messy eating something covered in raw spinach, it was falling off the flatbread left and right.  The artichokes and cheese were tasty, and there was a lemony zest flavor - maybe a bit too tart for my taste.  But it was clearly well made, and I bet if I got the basic margherita I'd have loved it.

I'd happily go back and try more things - for a casual pre-movie dinner and drink, it's a good bet.

Went on a Sunday for dinner around 5:30 and felt bad as we were the only customers in the restaurant. That's too bad, because this place has better than average pub food. But the space might be perceived as being cursed with two or three restaurants having gone in and out over the last few years.

The menu features everything from sliders for appetizers to skewers for entrees.

Our waitress was super-attentive and friendly. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. It came on ciabatta bread with a very generous portion of hand cut fries.

The sandwich was quite good (and actually hard to finish) and the fries were equally as good. My wife had the grilled chicken tikka sandwich with tikka tandoori. She liked hers, too. Unfortunately, our son didn't do much with his flatbread margarita pizza--not because it was bad, because he wasn't used to a pizza being served this way. I ate it for leftovers the next night and thought it was delicious.

Again, we liked our dinners, we liked the space and would be open to going back sometime soon, but I really hope they're still around when we do.

It's not a good sign to be the only diners on a Sunday night at the height of the dinner hour.

Wickets' menu and quality is one of the better options at the Streets of Woodfield for my lunchtime fare.

Thrice I was there, I couldn't bring myself to get anything else but the fish tacos ($8) and the tomato bisque. The portions are substantial and quality fresh.

The main caveat I have about Wickets is its speed. Most office lunch hours are 1 hour; and the wait for service and check is excruciating. I hope the nice owner sees this review and invest in more servers if he wants to keep this going. From what I've heard, restaurants that open in this location right next to the Lowes' theater has not been able to thrive.

This is one of those restaurants which I'd define as "cool". It has the nice relaxed feel of a casual restaurant/bar but a "hip" menu like those you'd find in downtown Chicago or Milwaukee. The prices are also good with large portions and relatively good service (at least for weekend lunch). They also have plenty of TVs so it's easy to catch a variety of games on at the same time.

The mussels appetizer is pretty nice, a large plate with a side of crostini. The broth isn't overly powerful although it could be a little less salty but overall one of the better mussel dishes in the area. Served in a white wine instead of a tomato broth.

The flatbreads are pretty good, pretty similar to other restaurants in the area.

The chicken noodle soup was quite a surprise. It comes in a large plate with a side of crostini. The taste is fresh and there are plenty of chunks of chicken, carrot, and celery to enjoy. Clearly house-made instead of from a box or can.

The shrimp skewers with potato hash are really nice. It comes with grilled vegetables and pita slices. The flavor is light plus rich and there's a variety of textures in the dish.

My favorite burger is the bacon burger which has perfectly cooked beef, crispy bacon, and a runny egg. Like all the other sandwiches, it comes with a huge pile of fries. I also enjoyed the braised short rib and crispy tilapia sandwich quite a bit but wasn't too crazy about the meatloaf.

The lobster mac and cheese is worth a visit alone, it has a rich flavor with plenty of lobster and bread crumbs for texture. It's not very big but it packs a huge amount of flavor inside the small dish.

This will tell you how long it's been since I've been to the Streets of Woodfield: Jason and I had a hard time finding Meatheads tonight. OK, we couldn't find it; we ended up here. How long has it been since Johnny Rockets closed and Wickets opened?

When we walked in, we received a warm reception by the host. It was a quiet evening so he let me choose our seats.

There are nooks in the corner and along the windows for semi-privacy; sit front and center of the TVs so you don't miss any sports programs; how about near the bar with transients? You can't choose wrong, the restaurant is open and airy.

I ordered the $14 Quarter Herb Roasted Chicken. Served with Parmesan Mashed Potatos.  $1.50 Coke, no refills were offered so I didn't ask.

Jason suprised me when he asked for the $12 Lobster Mac & Cheese. Real Lobster with cheese and Japanese Panko bread crumbs. He enjoyed his mac & cheese so much, he forgot to offer me some. I didn't think it was going to be enough food for him; I was right.

Fortunately, the succulent 1/4 breast of chicken and mashed potatoes was enough for sharing. I really enjoyed my dish tonight. I'll be back for more soon!

We took our Server's praise for their desserts and asked for the $6 Apple Crisp. On the menu, it says fresh baked so I expected it to be delivered warm. It's definitely made from scratch and after the initial, "hrmmm?" ... there are no complaints. In fact,  it tastes lighter than most desserts we order. I think it had less sugar too.

If you see a movie at the Loews theater next door, bring your ticket stubs for a freebie. Since we didn't do that this evening, I don't know what the free appetizer is but I'll be sure to find out next time!

Came here on Friday night for Valentine's Day dinner part 2 and was pretty impressed all around!! I had called for reservations Friday afternoon since I didn't know how crowded it would get around 8pm and the woman on the phone was So nice and asked me where we would like to sit and I told her by the bar area to be by the tv and she said when we got here if we wanted to change our seat we would be able to do that....thanks! We got there a little late...oops but they still had a RESERVED sign on our table(phew) and brought us right to our seat. Now at first we were a little unsure about the seat cause the bar high tables are right next to the restaurant part tables but the people we were sitting by were so nice and a great time we ended up making friends with them...Hey I love new friends!!!

Now as I was reading these reviews I kept reading about poor service, we had AMAZING service. Our waitress was always coming to check on us and even gave us 3 free frisbees...SWEET : )

For dinner I ordered the turkey burger and fries with extra pickes. The food came out in no time at all and was really good. The turkey burger had a good flavor and was cooked perfect. The fries were amazing and they gave you sooooo many, I could have shared them with someone....O but I sure didnt!!!
While I was waiting for our food I noticed a special menu with drinks and the Friday special was the cake martini.....umm yes please. It was the BEST martini I've ever had AND it came rimmed with sprinkles!!! I felt like I was drinking cake batter....It was a great dessert after my food and was only 6 bucks!!!

Great experience but they get better. while on the way home I noticed I forgot an invitation at the restaurant..bummer : ( We turned around and came back to ask if they happened to see it or someone turned it in. The woman at the front counter said they had seen an envelope but thought it was empty so they threw is away.....so what do they do they go into the garbage for me and find the envelope and take out the invitation and hand it to me. OMG that was the WAY awesome of them and they so did not have to do that...I know I wouldn't have!!!

I will for sure be coming back to Wickets for the good food, awesome staff and AMAZING cake martini!!!

Really? A brand new restaurant with such terrible service. Owner manager walking around talking of his travels to Poland not seeing the bad service.
After asking the server what the problem was she said the kitchen was overwhelmed so was the bartender. This was Saturday at 2pm. 10 tables full at most.
Due to that, PLEASE avoid Super Bowl Sunday you may not get served till Half.
The food .... Mediocre at best
    The server .....Lost......
Avoid or go before it closes
Will not make it until summer....

Let me first set the stage....
The night I was here was during the week, for dinner, on the first 6-8 inch snowfall of the year.

With that being said, the place was pretty dead. There was about 4 tables with customers. The busboys had called out due to travel limitations - so waitstaff was taking on their responsibility as well. However, I found that this really didn't impact service. The staff was friendly and helpful. I encountered a few kinks, but nothing major - I'm chalking it up to the weather.

Anyhow...on to the menu. We had the spinach//potato samosas, Asian-style//mango chutney meatballs, and the ricotta//arugula//proscuitto flatbread. The samosas were really good - especially the cucumber/chive yogurt sauce. However, they were slightly cold. As for the other two dishes - both delicious and would definitely order them again. The flatbread pizza has more of a pita-like crust, rather than a cracker - but delish nonetheless!

Wicket's definitely has potential! There's plenty of large flat-screen TV's to watch whatever game may be playing, a decent drink menu, and what appears to be a good atmosphere for a late night drink after a movie.

A couple downsides - I'm not sure this would be the place to go for a night out if you weren't going to see a movie at the Loews next door. Between the movie theater, GameWorks, and the restaurants at the Streets of Woodfield, parking and crowds could be a major hassle. Also, Wicket's isn't as large as I expected - so  I could potentially see it filling up fast after a late night movie.

I'll definitely give Wickets another whirl - especially since I was too full for a burger or skewers. However, I'll probably bypass a weekend night and head there for happy hour or a weekday dinner. Since they are still in the early stages of being opened, I imagine things will only improve with customer feedback.

Before Wickets opened, I'd pass it by every morning on a Starbucks run. It finally opened and was excited to try it out.

My co-workers and I went there for lunch and did cocktails and happy hour one night.  Here's some feedback:

    PROS--
    - The burgers (including the turkey burger) were great!
    - The overall setting and ambiance and feel of Wickets overall was awesome; definitely a place to hang out with some friends for a happy hour.
    - Wickets Skewer plates with the pita bread = FANTASTIC. Came with great sauce choices. Roasted Tomato Aioli was yum!

    CONS--
    - The lunch service was a bit slow. Maybe the kitchen was adjusting, but it took a bit too long.
    - If you like lettuce, tomato and onion with your burger--ask for it! Otherwise you just get the burger.
    - Lobster Mac & Cheese was disappointing...v. bland and needed more cheese.

I had high hopes for Wickets--but hopefully in due time they'll get to read some 2-3 star reviews and take them into making some minor adjustments ;) Otherwise, this place does have potential--just didn't have that "Wow" factor (yet)

I heard about the recent opening about this place and heard great things about it. I went a few nights ago and loved it!

The menu has a wide variety of items, ranging from flatbread pizza to seafood and lobster mac and cheese (which is amazing!). For appetizers, I highly recommend the fish tacos! They tasted very fresh and the fish was perfectly cooked.

I also tried the mussels there but I personally don't like mussels. The bread that is served under it though is delicious! It's soaked in some kind of liquid but the bread isn't soggy, which is nice.

For desserts, try the carrot cake. The cream cheese frosting is delightful!

The price range is decent. I would say the average price for dinner would be around $9-$17, depending on what you get.

The atmosphere of Wickets is awesome! There are huge flat screens mounted on the walls for easy viewing. It definitely a sports grill type place but family friendly too. The bar is set up nicely and there is a huge tv along the bar wall as well.

We had awesome service too. There were always waiters refilling our cups with water, I never saw my cup empty. The waitress was very kind and routinely checked on our table to make sure the food was to our liking.

I was so excited Wickets opened up due to location! It's a good location right by my work, plus it's great for stopping in for a beer after a movie!  It just opened this week. :)

Staff is all very friendly in this location, love the decor and atmosphere. I also loved the music while I was there for lunch!

I was excited when I saw they had a bacon burger on the menu. Had to get it~ It came with two huge pieces of bacon, and was a very solid burger. The burger came with fries which were also very solid. Not bad for the $10 price.

    A couple of suggestions:
-Lunch deals. They are near a few huge business buildings and they could really lure us people who work there in with some lunch specials & prices to go along with them.
-Bigger selection of craft beers. Right now the drink is a short and more special types of beers would make me and my coworkers happy campers.
-Not so many workers! I feel a bit strange having to say bye, thanks to four people four times as I walk out.

All in all, looks like it will be great after a few kinks are worked out! I'll absolutely be back!
