Wiseacres Comedy Club

The comedians are funny- of course some funnier than others. The guy that closed the show had us laughing our butts off. If you are expecting a luxurious setting think again. The decor is a little dirty looking and plain. Expect no frills. The cover and drink prices are an average rate. We went here on a Saturday night and the audience was rather small, just about 20 people. Everyone had a good time and I would go here again. Everyone needs a good laugh now and then.

Dirty old rundown looking comedy club attached to the Best Western.  I LONG time ago (before he was really big) I saw Lewis Black here, but they had allocated the show to an even larger banquet room in the hotel itself.  My more recent excursion here was random for what I think were just some local comics.  I was pleased with the place but I personally would rather head over to the Improv in DC.

If you have nothing better to do, I would suggest going here.  You could easily trek into DC for some comedy.  It looks as if the Best Western couldn't decide between a Denny's or a comedy club.  A friend of mine came up with this for a group activity.  We no longer take his suggestions seriously.

We had some pretty bad acts.  There was a comic who was dressed in the University of Virginia colors that made me ashamed to have gone there.  He was awful.  Even the crickets stopped chirping to increase the amount of shame that this would-be funny man had to endure.  It seems as though they schedule one good comic and line up two really crappy ones to make the good comic look that much better.

If you are a heckler, trying to elevate yourself from amateur to professional status, go here.  I would pay to see that, actually on second thought, I'd rather keep the money.
