This is the spot if you want all you can eat BBQ! For ~$30 including tip, you can do all you can eat BBQ, which includes Kalbi, brisket, shrimp, pork belly, etc. Soup and cold noodles are also included. WHAT A DEAL! I didn't give them a 5-star only because I think my personal marinated Kalbi tastes better =oP

decent all you can eat korean bbq. their marinaded meats like the galbi completely outshine the non-marinaded ones... but in the end i guess it's quantity over quality, so i can't complain! it's usually very busy, so service won't be the best.
pretty average for AYCE korean bbq but sooooooooo expensive... comes out to $30 per person, so you better start eating a shit ton to make up for that big hole in your wallet!

    3.5/5 rounded to 4

Good Korean BBQ place. Meat is good. Tight space inside and not good for a big party, chairs are too close to get her that it's hard to eat. Cost is comparable to other  places, at $23 for adult , all you can eat.  The best meat is the kalbi. The worst is the shrimp. Restaurant is located on a strip mall so plenty of parking.  You cook your own food so you will smell like food after you leave the place. Personally, if  I'm paying to eat out, I don't want to cook.

Great  place to eat Korean BBQ, especially for the price.  Staff are attentive to your needs.  They get busy too but they seem to be intentional about serving you.  Great sides too!

I loooove coming here for their all-you-can-eat bbq, but my stomach hates me for it every time. We've tried all the items on the menu, and I'd stick with the normal stuff (beef, pork, shrimp, chicken). The "mountain trail" was some kind of weird unidentifiable meat, and the intestines aren't that impressive either (chewy, greasy, takes too long to cook). Make sure you ask for lettuce leaves if they don't give you any!

The naengmyun included is the perfect way to end the meal.

Try to leave your scarves and other accessories in the car because they will smell strongly of BEEF.

I actually thought this place was great. The Kalbi was really good. The marinades and the quality of meat I thought was excellent.

What I would like to know is... The bill is completely in Korean and I've read on here that tip is included.. Is that true? If so and if you're not brushed up on your Korean... Then your still going to be tipping extra. But you know what... It's worth it. The lady we had was busting her ass serving a bunch of tables.

Many reviews also also complain that the servers are rude. Well at most Korean BBQ places I've been to, this is usually the drill. They're not rude, they're just blunt, to the point, and in a hurry.

Don't expect a "Welcome sir, thank your for dining with us. Have you been with us before, this is how it works" INSTEAD it's more like, "Sit here, what meat do you want (as you're being handed the menu, as you're sitting down)? I actually appreciate this style. When I'm at an all you can eat Korean joint, I want as much meat as possible to get in my belly as quickly as possible.

This is all-you-can-eat to take advantage of everything and roll out of here smelling of korean bbq goodness!

    GO HERE!

I came here yesterday with a bunch of my friends. We got the AYCE Korean BBQ. We ordered the pork shoulder, marinated short ribs, pork belly and I forgot the last one. The pork shoulder was rolled and still frozen when it came to my table. The short ribs were tasty and the pork belly was a bit too fatty.

The ban chan was varied, though it was difficult to get more. Service was difficult at this restaurant. We tried multiple times to get a cup of water and it took the third or fourth waitress to get it done. If you can get someone to speak in Korean, service gets better here. It varied sometimes. They would change the grill every once or twice after each plate of meat. But at the end, they changed it 3 times within 10 mins by 2 different waitresses with the same pieces of meat.

They automatically charge about 18-19% gratuity per person regardless of how big or small your party is. For a party of 6, it was about $29 per person.

I would come back just because I heard this is the best quality AYCE Korean BBQ near Chicago and the marinaded short ribs were good. But next time, I would ask my Korean friends to come along and order.

In Chicago, it is very hard to find a good Korean BBQ place. Illinois is nothing like the west coast where you can find KBBQ everywhere you turn your head into. I travel to LA often because my girlfriend lives in Koreatown and I eat ALOT of kbbq I basically tried almost all the top kbbq restaurants in LA and I can say that Woori Village can compete against them. Everybody is talking about how LA's korean bbq is unbeatable, which is true, but living in a remote city like Chicago where there is no Koreatown, Woori village is the best you could get.

Woori village is good for groups. I usually come here with my girlfriend or with friends for dinner. They have various meats available from beef briskets, marinated and non marinated short ribs, pork belly, bbq beef, chicken, shrimp, intestines, and i dont remember the others but there are alot. People usually start with the chadol baegi (brisket), then samgyupsal (pork belly), short ribs, bulgogi, gopchang (small intestines), abomasum and so on..I always get the brisket first then pork belly and maybe some bulgogi and kalbi, then a little bit of gopchang, and when it starts to get so meaty I order coke or soju and drink with my girlfriend/friends and laugh our hearts out. And dont forget to ask for rice or brown rice if youre on a diet, but who's on a diet if you're eating KBBQ right!? You pay to get beyond full lol. Noodles is included in your bbq meal so dont forget to get yourself one! I usually wrap my meal up with cold noodles Bibim Naengmyun.

This place is as good as it gets, I would give this place 5 stars but I think there is still something missing and i cant really tell what it is, it could be the price because you pay around 30/person compared to as cheap as 10/person in LA. But anyway, this is the place to be if you are craving for Korean barbecue and you want to eat lots of meat. You could eat yourself to death but I assure you will die happy!

I enjoyed going to this place for the first time but I was extremely saddened by lack of service. It was very busy on Saturday night and I was with a group of 11 people. Only one of us spoke Korean and she was the one helping EVERYONE out, so this is not a friendly place for anyone who does not speak Korean. One of the things that bothered me was that it might have been understaffed since none of the waitresses stopped by our table after they delivered everyone's food, except one person, who had to wait at least 15 minutes for her dinner. We had to go up and ask to get the pitchers of water filled up again. They were accommodating and let us pay separately by credit card though (instead of as a big group).

I shared #4 from the BBQ menu with a friend (sorry, I forgot what it was called) and everyone except one person in my group enjoyed their meal. We also enjoyed sampling all of our side dishes that came with the BBQ (ours was made in the kitchen though).

As for their karaoke, I think this is a must try thing because we don't have anything like this in Milwaukee? It was hilarious to sing Call Me Maybe and other pop songs with a random Korean MV or a random animation going on in the background. In addition, I would download Noraebook for Android/iPhone so you can look up the most popular songs/artists easily under POP (USA songs), JPOP, and  (KPOP). It's definitely fun to go with a group of friends. We managed to get a medium room for $30/hour. I haven't actually done karaoke before so other people from LA/Seattle/NYC might have different opinions. For karaoke, I'd rate it a 4/5 stars.

after reading reviews I was hesitant to try this place but a few people i know said this was the place try korean bbq.  It was great. The place was crazy busy but we were seat within 5 mins. Food was really delicious. I think we had all the beef on the menu, pork belly and shrimp. and the service was excellent , They were very attentive and  we were 4 white middle-aged people so  the "you need to be Korean to get A service "myth was busted tonight. The chef came out to visit all the tables and stopped at ours. Not at all what I expected.. an out-going smart and funny woman. Made us feel like we had been going there for ever.

We will be back .....after we lose the wieght we packed on tonight.

I live in LA right now.. and sorry, the food here just doesn't rival what you can get out there.  Taking that into account.. onto the place.

Yes.. the parking lot is big.

Yes.. if you are not Korean, you are going to get really crappy service.  I knew this all going in.

Seating in here is ample.. and the booths for bbq seat up to 6.  They don't mind if you don't get the buffet.. and order a la carte.  They will NOT refill your little dishes though... again, bad service.  Not entirely sure if it's because we aren't Korean or they are just cheap...

    The food...
    - Seafood Paejun was a dissapointment.  Not fully crispy or good.. I'd skip on this.
    - The octopus with spicy sauce and noodles were really good.  I randomly saw it on the menu and thought it would be good to try.  It's good!!
    - The seafood jigae was middle of the road... not really spicy or good broth base.  I didn't see much seafood in there but at the standard $8-9 price.
    - BBQ was interesting... we got a few things.  Spicy pork and kalbi weren't the best.  Kalbi had a little too much soy bean in there.  THe best was the black pig pork belly.  Good flavor.  They also have all the dips.. so it makes it a legit spot.

Korean bbq place so don't bring jackets and shower right afterwards!  The hot pots looked good as well although we didn't get one.

Really bad service though.. so I would really think twice as other patrons before I would be willing to deal with the crap.  And it's not just the Koreans.. the Mexicans that work there are just as bad and rude!

My favorite kbbq place to eat at! All their meat is marinated, so everything taste really good even without sauce. -1 star for their service though. Like all Korean places, you have to be Korean to get A treatment.

I wasn't a big fan of the seafood soondubu though. It was a little bit salty and lacked seafood.

I like coming here for AYCE Korean BBQ but I still like Jang Choong Dong better. One of my other friend prefers this place instead since their meat is marinated. The place is pretty big so I've never had a problem getting a table.

The restaurant represents what a Korean buffet should be. The service is not poor at all, especially for a Korean restaurant. The servers constantly will fill water, provide side dishes and check-in to see what meat each table will need next.

An added bonus, they will provide warm soup and cold noodles which helps digest the vast array of meats they bring to your table. For those who have never tried a Korean buffet, it is up to the table to cook your own food. The servers will change the grill plate when needed, but it is essential to know when food is burning and when to lower the temperatures.

Been there several times over the past few years and always left full and satisfied!

by far my favorite korean bbq buffet! there is a big parking lot which is a plus.. when we went there was a wait but it wasn't too bad.. this restaurant was pretty clean compare to the other kbbq places i went to and more roomy too..

the meat quality was pretty decent.. pretty fresh and flavored..love their kalbi here! they got a decent size of meat selection to choose from too!  they also bring out some mini appetizers like kimchi, tofu, etc

only complaints i have here was that i prefer using charcoal instead of gas.. oh and our waitress (big ears) has an attitude.. saying "you guys done yet?!" in a rude tone while we was still eating.. it wasn't our fault that it took her a while to bring out the meat we ordered..

After everyone telling me to go here for the all you can eat korean bbq, i finally went with a group of friends! I honestly didn't expect much due to the fact it's all you can eat... & usually places like that harbor bad service &/or bad quality food. However, this place was WAY better than i thought :)

The service was ok, not the best but definitely not the worst I've received. The meat was pretty good quality, too. It's definitely not my favorite place for korean bbq but for all you can, you can't really complain. I remember one of the servings was a bit fatty& I know fatty meat = yummy but too much fat ruins it for me. Also, the side dishes leave something more to be desired... Other than that, I thought it was worth it (IT WAS ~$23 a person. !!)

So go here if you're with a group of hungry people & don't expect a 5 star restaurant/service b/c you honestly get what you pay for.

P.S. Don't come if you don't want to smell like Korean food. You will be surrounded by the aroma of meat & it WILL submerge itself into every fabric & hair follicle of your body :P

I wish I could give this place a negative star!
The service here is terrible! I've never been to any restaurant anywhere that has this kind of poor service. Every single employee here is rude. They treat younger customers like 3rd class citizens. I went here with a group and they said all the tables were full. The order group who walked in behind us with the same size group asked for a table, and they got one right away. What the hell? They didn't have any reservations either. Terrible!
Now, if you do get a table, it takes forever to order. Other things like extra side dishes or water refills won't happen so you better just get up and do it yourself. The person at the front who takes your bill is also extremely rude. My friend asked if he could see the bill again not realizing they added the tip, and she had the nerve to say you shoul have checked it more carefully, blah blah.. Seriously, with so many Korean BBQ places in the area that offers similar all you can eat, why waste your time dealing with the rudest people? Take your business to San Soo or Chang Joong Dong down the street. They actually treat you like a paying customer. Places like this needs to realize that its the customers who should really dictate if they stay in business or not...

Also, their meat quality is sub-par.

Went on a recommendation.  Came during off hours, which was a good thing.  Agree with most of the reviews here.  Went for the all you can meet.  Ha.  All you can eat meat.  Couldn't get through it.  Too much dang food.  Most of it tasty.

I was too woori (Woori, get it) that I was gonna burn something, so between eating and cooking, sensory overload.  Obvs., I haven't done the Korean BBQ thing too much.  Someone always there cooking it for me.  So, if this is your 1st time, bring someone who likes fire and won't mind being the designated cook.  Make that person cook all night long so you don't woori about blackening perfectly good meat.  For their efforts, pay for their meal or take 'em for ice cream at Village Creamery afterwards.

I will be definitely be back with a pyro friend.  Oh, and ask for a LONG tong.  (Stop snickering.)  Our tong was short and aaaah...well it was too short.

The dolsot BiBimBap is the BiBim Bomb!

I don't know about all you can eat here, unless you're going all out pork belly, the marinade here is a little under powered and the side dishes are good, but not as mind bending as they are at San Soo. Get the crispy rice bowl, maybe some wings, and a beer. Good meal. I need to check out the lunch specials here.

I don't know what all this self pitying nonsense is about being non-Korean equals being treated like crap is all about because I receive the exact same treatment every time I go as well and I speak fluently. So let's stop this nonsense now and agree that the service here SUCKS. I'll tell you why: it's a Korean restaurant in Chicago. Almost every single Korean restaurant in Chicagoland just blows donkey nuts when it comes to service. This is no excuse for it or any reason to accept it. I'm just saying that's really how it is and that Koreans get the same crap so please stop with all of your entitled whining gahbage.

So now that we've gotten that outta the way...

Here's how AYCE Korean BBQs work:
The first few meats you order will probably be unfrozen and beautifully marbled (depending on what you order) or deliciously marinated. They actually want your first impression to be good. Even the service comes with a half smile and half assed attentiveness. Thing quickly taper down from there. Not because it should but because that's just how they run their business. They know the hungry masses will keep on coming back for more to punish themselves over and over. Sure, some will never come back but the vast majority somehow ends up being unable to resist the allure of endless piles of sub-standard meat grilled to their personal liking right in front of them for a set price. So please, don't come back if you didn't like it that much because I wish people would stop coming here in droves so that maybe they would improve out of necessity. Make sense? This applies to any AYCE Korean BBQ in Chicagoland. If you really want to be treated great and be served better meat, take a trip to California or New York and see how it's really done. It might cost just a little more but it's worth it.

For those of you who complained about gratuity being added on for even small parties... did you read the small print on the AYCE menu? Probably not, and if you did then you really have nobody to blame except yourself because you obviously did not have to partake in the AYCE deal if you didn't agree with the terms. I will agree that it is different from the norm but then you must also agree that Woori has some of the best AYCE Korean BBQ in Chicagoland. That does NOT mean that it's really all that good though.

I think I speak for the majority that knows what's up at Woori when I say to go for the chadolbaegi first. That's the really thin sliced brisket that cooks almost instantaneously. If something cooks really fast, don't leave it on the grill very long. This is common sense to most but maybe you've never even grilled your own burger in your backyard. Although they bring it out on a large plate, the actual weight is probably only around a quarter pound. Between even two people this is a ridiculously small amount of meat so make sure to get a double order the first few times. If your grill keeps turning black then you're doing something wrong. The heat is too high or you're leaving the meat on there way too long. Chadol should not be crispy when you take it off of the grill. That's nasty. Don't do that. Cook it just enough then dip it in the black soy sauce looking stuff. It's salty, sweet, and tangy and goes well with chadol. The sesame oil/salt/pepper dip is good too but is a much more refined and mild taste. Fill up on chadol because that's the best cut they have THEN move on to whatever else you want to try. Let me repeat that: fill up on the good stuff THEN try the other stuff. Why? The quality of their kalbi is horrible. It's like chewing on leather. I don't even think it's short rib meat, they just cut up a cheap cut of cow and marinated the ever living hell out of it and it's STILL rubbery. It's AYCE so that's the quality that comes out. Don't like it, don't eat it again. Simple. Dig?

I hate the wait staff just as much as anyone else does but let's just keep a few things in mind before getting all angry inside. These women are tired, overworked, understaffed, and can't speak a goddamn lick of English. Sure they don't have to work there but just be thankful that YOU'RE not working there in that stinky, smokey, super-busy hell hole. Be assertive (shout for service if you have to, don't be shy) but be polite at the same time because one day you may have the unfortunate misfortune of having to feed your family by slaving away in meat hell.

A FANTASTIC PLACE FOR ALL YOU CAN EAT! Came here with a group of friends not too long ago and my mouth waters in anticipation for the next time that we will be back.

A recommendation for a korean bbq place is to definitely do the all you can eat. Reason one: once you have a bite you won't stop, which is what happened in this case.
Reason two: you won't look too shameless ordering a million plates of food.
Reason three: the longer you sit the more time you have to digest and order more, bahahaha.

All my friends and I included did the all you can eat and.... no lie we went through maybe 9-11 plates of meat. Scary? Indeed. I think that the server working there was mortified. But nonetheless service was great!

They had a large selection of meat: marinated beef, chicken, shrimp, beef tenderloin, etc. The all you can eat price also included miso soup, side dishes (potato salad is my favorite), and rice.

We left more than full, we were definitely stuffed! But it was so much fun and I'm definitely making this place my go to stop for korean bbq!

I went to Woori Korean BBQ last night with some friends.  I don't understand why a lot of the reviews here say the service was poor.  The service was EXCELLENT!  The waitstaff kept changing our grill so that we always had a nice, clean fresh grill to cook on.  I've never experienced this anywhere else and I've been to at least 5 different Korean BBQ places.

The food was lightly marinated and they have many different types of meat/seafood to select from.  They had at least 3 different types of beef to choose from as well as chicken and for the brave - intestines.

I'm more of a flavorful type of girl so the food to me was somewhat not as spicy/flavored as I am used to with Korean BBQ.  Although because the service was absolutely wonderful - I would go back and maybe try the shrimp and chicken next time.

This was a nice all-you-can-eat option to go with friends.

The receipt that came to our table was in all Korean.  There were no Koreans amongst us so we just decided to trust Woori that our bill was correct.

Some of the other reviews have expressed that non-Koreans get terrible service at Woori so I came expecting that, but it was worse than I expected. From the moment we walked in we were ignored by the entire staff. Our waitress never came by to refill out waters unless we flagged her down. It's supposed to be unlimited meat, but every time we ordered more, our waitress looked annoyed, which made it uncomfortable to ask for more.

At the end the waitress brought our check over and told us we had to walk up and pay at the front. That's fine, but I noticed other people simply paid at their tables. When we brought our check up to pay, there were two people at the front desk (the host and another waitress). They didn't say a word to us so we stood there for literally 5 minutes while they shuffled some papers around. Finally, they accepted our money without a word of thanks.

As for the food, it was simply ok. The meats aren't marinaded except for the aptly named marinaded beef. Without any marinade, many of the meats were bland so we had to dip them in the various sauces in order to make them palatable. I'm not very familiar with Korean food so I don't know if that's what one is supposed to do, but I think grilled meats should have enough flavor on their own to not require a ton of extra sauces.

I came here twice for the barbecue. The food was awesome. There should be a warning that gratuity is automatically added to your bill. If you come here with more than a party of five, I recommend checking the bill twice. We were over billed.

I find this place with a heavy language barrier. I honestly don't feel the courtesy from the staff. When I pointed out we were charged more, they thought I was talking about the gratuity. I was not. I even pointed out that I know that is gratuity, but we were charged more for something else. She punched it out to double check and she realized what the problem was. That's cool.

I guess my problems were didn't get our water filled. We came on a busy day.... Fine, I understand. But I dont understand why they keep giving us beef when we ordered the marinated beef. They literally tossed the frozen beef into the grill when we didn't order it. That happened several times. We also did not get what we ordered. We said two orders of marinated beef one time and we ordered one order of marinated beef the other. The amount were the same.

I didn't see other people having this problem since everyone else around me were Korean. Not to be racist but I can only convince myself this is a language barrier. We seriously had terrible service....

But the experience with the food was good, we got a chance to make it ourselves and get a feel of what Korean barbecue is like.

They have a variety of food... But I guess I will consider bringing a Korean friend just to see the difference in service.

POOR service, If you don't speak Korean you should bring someone who does!

I had a very bad experience here.Talk about feeling like the minority of the group. Not one person spoke a word of English, therefore, they all avoided our table. We had no idea how to order and didn't realize we were expected to cook our own meat. I thought it was so awesome that they have built in grills at each booth, but how about letting us know that we will be cooking our own meat once it's put down. They forgot our appetizer and never returned to fill our water glasses.

On a more positive note the meat was very good, but someone who doesn't know how to cook may leave with salmonella poisoning.

    So. Much. Meat.

I think the quality of the meat was good considering it is a buffet. They just keep bringing more as we ask. That is much better than having raw meat set out on a buffet table which I have seen before. We got so much panchan too, love that. We were so stuffed after this and we had 2 guys at our table including my husband who are big eaters.

The area and booth we were seated in seemed pretty run down. It was a little scary because we were the only ones sitting there at first and the lighting is like warehouse lighting or something. Just seemed creepy. It was a separate room if you go to the right after you get into the restaurant.

If I come back next time I will have to check if there is a Groupon or something. $25 a person is a lot of money even though you get a lot of food.

So if you're NOT in the mood for the artery clogging all-you-can-eat barbecue here, they have an amazing lunch special until 3 pm where about 10 different stew dishes are around $6.00.  Forget the greasy spoons, and head over to Woori for a seoul-ful Korean brunch.  Their kongbijee jigae (bean stew) and yukaejang (hot, spicy stew) really hit the spot.  And their haemul pajeon (seafood pancake appetizer) was amazing, one of the best I've ever had.

Yes, the service is so poor that they'd probably step over you if you had a heart attack in the aisle.  But for newbies, the secret to apathetic service in midwestern Korean restaurants is - shout out a "ju-gi-yo" with a frantic handwave to the server (it's not rude), and she'll get to you eventually.  Maybe.  If she feels like it.  And there's nothing good on television.

Came here again to give this place another try.  I came here with my fiance only.  Just the two of us I mind you.  We order the "All You Can Eat".  When we got the check, it was nothing unusual until I saw a 9$ charge.  We both proceeded to ask the waitress what the $9 was all about.  Guess what?  They added the tip they deemed appropriate with the final cost.

Let me get this straight, for a party of two, they added tip on the check?  I understand if it was a party of 5 or larger.  I found that to be rude and it felt like the place was more about earning the $$$$, rather than keeping up with the food quality and service.

Sad to say, this is another disappointment for the place.  Bad food, terrible service and no common good business practice.

I do not recommend this place nor will I be coming back in the future.  I am taking my business elsewhere.

This is a all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ near Walmart in Niles.  I tried this place at least 3 times.  As an immigrant Korea who had lived in Los Angeles, this place is just not good enough (Don't get me wrong.  Sometime you just go there to east even if it's a crappy place).  I understand the more expensive price (smaller market, among other things), but their service is subpar (not attentive), and most of all, their meat is not fresh and not tasty enough.

Advice:  You will be able to survive if you eat only briskets and pork belly.  They have relatively good quality meat for them.  However, any of their marinated meat is just flat out awful.  Tto make the matters worse, upon ordering, they would give you too much of it so that you won't be able to order other meat you may prefer (So when you order, make sure you order a "small portion", not the whole tray).

Service-wise, you will need to make an effort to talk to a server, especially on weekend dinners.  Don't expect too much from them.

In conclusion, their service is awful, they meat is mostly bad, but I give them 2 stars because there is at least something to eat (briskets, pork belly).

After a day at King Spa, we were craving some Korean bbq and happened upon this place. For $23 you get unlimited meat korean bbq style. They have marinated galbi, sesame seed oil galbi, samgyupsal, pork neck, rib eye, shrimp, and some unknown intestine parts.

Overall, the experience was quite positive. Granted service was probably only 2 stars but I have come to expect that from Korean restaurants.. in Saint Louis at least (was actually hoping Chicago could up the bar).  The workers were polite but seldomly came to the table and had to be flagged down for every little thing (eg: more napkins, more panchan, water refills, next meat order).  It all became clear when the bill came and an automatic 15% tip was added for my party of 3,

Anyhow, on to the important part, the food!  The panchan was so so. I thought the kimchi was a tad bit old and they were missing many important dishes like the boiled spinach or mung bean sprouts. The potato salad panchan was enjoyable and really helped to quench the fire that was going on in my mouth because of course I had to enjoy the meat with raw jalapenos and garlic.

The marinated galbi was too sweet but the sesame seed oil seasoned galbi was great.. very tender. My favorite was the pork neck and rib eye. The meat seemed fresh and was very tender. The pork neck is less greasy than the samgyupsal but just as good. The shrimp was just mediocre. One thing I thought was odd/annoying was that the workers would just dump the entire platter of meat onto the grill and would overcrowd the cooking space... making it take much longer.  Neng myung comes with the unlimited meat.. Ask for it..

I think this place is great in comparison to the places in St Louis but not sure how it compares in Chicago standards.

In the past week, I have had kalbi three times. It wasn't intentional, it just happened that way. That seems to be the case with my eating habits. My wife's extended family was in town and we were celebrating her cousin's wedding. I thought it was odd that they wanted to drive 15 miles during rush hour traffic at 5:00pm. They said that Woori Village was worth the drive since it was supposed to be one of the best Korean BBQ buffets in Chicago.

To start, I immediately noticed the difference in pan chan (side dishes). There was odeng (fish cake), pajun (pancake), green onions, and an assortment of pickled vegetables. From the meat selection, there was kalbi (marinated short ribs), sliced ribeye, samgyupsul (pork belly), and surprisingly prawns. The quality of the meat was also noticeably different. These were thicker cuts of meat and the plates were full. At the end of the meal, everyone was given neng myun (cold noodles in a clear soup with vinegar). A refreshing way to finish a heavy meal packed with proteins. Unfortunately for me, I was past the point of no return and couldn't eat anything more.

Woori Village held true to their reputation. This was seriously one of the best Korean BBQ buffets in Chicago and I'll definitely be back again.

I came here with two coworkers off the recommendation from another coworker. We walked in and were escorted to a booth in a very dull room in the back. Decor and ambiance were definitely lacking. When it came to ordering food, I asked for the bi bim bop with tofu instead of meat. The server said that they were not able to accommodate my request. When I questioned him about it, he continued to say that it couldn't be done. Really??? I found that hard to believe.

I wound up ordering the tofu soup and my coworkers both got the normal bi bim bop in the stone bowl. None of us really enjoyed our dishes and my lunchmates complained that their meat was cold. They had to put the meat against the stone bowl to heat it up. The service was generally terrible as our waiter only showed up again to give us our check... not even bothering to fill our empty water glasses or check if we needed anything else. On the way out we saw a giant pot of broth just sitting on the floor in plain sight. Also, there was a foul order radiating throughout the hall towards the exit. Gross.

I would definitely not come back ever again.

All you can eat Korean BBQ? Sounds dangerous.

And it was. Raw meat flying everywhere with a hot, sizzling platter to cook your meat. Not just any meat, you have delicious, soy-marinated beef. Also chicken, shrimp, and pork belly for those who want a little variety. But who needs variety when the bulgogi is so addictive? And don't get me started on the unlimited side dishes. If they didn't come in small plates, I would have eaten way too much kimchi. (Oh great, now I'm starting to eat like my dad...)

The end of the meal rice/noodle/soup was a nice touch, though it was all a bit strange. I guess it's very traditional Korean, according to the Korean friend. By the way, thanks George O., for taking a year out of my life from eating so much meat!

Service was good, even for a Saturday night. I'll be coming here if I have a car and have someone who craves a ton (or two) of meat.

Good value here.  You can get an all you can eat Korean BBQ buffet (short ribs, pork belly, sliced beef, etc) for $22.95.  For this first visit, we had the usual assorted and bottomless Korean appetizer vegetables, and I had the boneless short rib dinner entree ($17.95), and wife had a stone pot bi bim bop (ground beef, with rice, and veggies) for $9.95.

They've been in business for 6 years, and 3 years at this location.  The place felt a bit dated, and a greasy smell filled the air, but the food is still the draw.  Each table has its own grill.  The dining crowd was 100% Korean, except for us as far as I could tell.  We'll be back when in the area and when looking for a casual, good value meal.

    Meeeeeaaaatttttt!!!!!!

Came to this place to meet up with some of my friend's friends for dinner. I didn't get the memo that we were supposed to starve ourselves 3 days prior to coming here for all-you-can-eat korean BBQ. Chadol and Kalbi galore. Typical Korean restaurant set-up but this place is huge though. 3 rooms of K-BBQ counter tops so don't Woori (get it?) there is plenty of room.

This fast moving lady turned on our grills almost immediately and brought our banchan (sp?). My favorite banchan is: potato salad, julienne radishes, kimchi, egg pancake, green beans. As the marinated uncooked meats came out into plates we began cooking. I have explained this before in other KBBQ reviews but I like this concept because you cook it just to your preferences. We had chadol, kalbi, and pork belly. It was an amazing experience. The service was alright but could have been more attentive but I understand its a busy place. They have karaoke which we did not participate in.

The meats were good, seating was semi private which let us talk amongst ourselves without onlookers, the location is nice, service was ...alright..I suppose. The good company made the whole experience better.

This place is probably one of the much better Korean BBQ places around and is worth the trip. The quality of meat and food is good, you get a good selection of banchan (side-dishes) and everything is tasty. My favorite meats are the chadohlbeagi and the kalbi (short ribs).

Plus, they have Karaoki rooms in the other part of the place, so it can make for a super fun night :D

Woori Village is the place to go if you want all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ.

For $23 a head, you can order from a list of 6-7 kinds of meat to your heart's content.  I've tried them all.  The marinated galbi and the sliced brisket are definitely the best - tender and flavorful.  I will go back for those two cuts alone (and eat til I drop).  The pork neck meat is also pretty good (this is a prized cut in my hometown, Taiwan; so I always feel obliged to order it).  The pork belly is tricky and overcooks easily.  The mountain chain is the worst.  I'm not sure what it is but it tastes like offal, which I'm fine with usually.  But this particular cut is just incredibly chewy and tasteless.  It's either an acquired taste or I've been cooking it wrong.  Either way, unless you know what you're doing, I'd recommend skipping it.  Their naengmyeon is also pretty good, though the version at Cho Sun Ok is still my favorite.

Decor is functional and rather nondescript.  The place is clean and spacious.  Though the grill smokes badly sometimes - so leave your party outfit at home.   Service is inconsistent - it ranges from friendly to horrible.  But they do replace your grill tops diligently regardless.  Most wait-staffs there speak minimal English, and my bad Korean accent doesn't help.  One time I tried to order naengmyeon, I got marinated galbi instead.  Thank Buddha the meat was all-you-can-eat; otherwise I wouldn't have been able to respond with self-mocking.

If you like Korean BBQ, and you like a lot of it, look no further.

This was a delicious, hilarious and confusing dinner.

To celebrate my big 3-0, I gathered a few awesome people to join me in trying Korean barbecue for the first time. There ended up being five of us, and at 5:40 on a Saturday we were seated promptly. This place is big, and we were in a smaller room with about 10-12 booths, one of three separate dining rooms. The table had a circular gas grill in the middle and a napkin dispenser and big container full of metal chopsticks.

After we told the waitress we wanted the all you can eat, they sprang into action and in no time our table was covered with small and medium-sized bowls. I still don't know what was in half of them, but I tried almost everything. We worked our way through four portions of beef (three different cuts) and a portion of pork belly. Three of us got spicy tofu soup. I'm still not sure WHY, though -- the two people on the outside were offered it, and then I sort of looked quizzically at the waitress and they offered me some too.

Not only was cooking our meat fun and tasty, but the service, while good, was also hilarious -- because we had a bit of a language barrier. None of us spoke a word of Korean, and when we asked the waitresses questions, we got answers that contained English words but made absolutely no sense. I'm still not sure what the "mountain chain" was, nor do I think I really want to know... :)

We didn't get cold noodles at the end (as mentioned in other reviews), but we were so stuffed that I'm really OK with it.

This won't be a regular trip for us, probably, but I would definitely go again. It was fun and extremely memorable.
