I remembered this place when it was Gametime Pub. My boyfriend and I needed to get out yesterday afternoon and decided to try this out. I saw that it had changed names and looked a little different, so I thought we should give it a shot.
We came around noon on a Sunday to watch the hawks game. We didn't have any alcohol but they seemed to have a lot of specials available through out the week.
It looked kind of the same, only slightly different. They had the hawks game on and the sound on so we were happy.
My boyfriend and I are mostly vegetarians. We make occasional exceptions for things like a Bison Burger. When I saw that on the menu, I got really excited. Since we had a big dinner the night before, we decided to split a bison burger and get an appetizer.
We got the saganaki because Dan had never had it before. It came with pita bread which was nice but we ran out of pita bread and had cheese still left. Oh well, not the end of the world but not worth paying for another side of pita.
When our burger came, I immediately noticed it was not bison meat. Then I realized that when my boyfriend ordered, he said Buffalo burger and not Bison burger. They have a beef burger with buffalo sauce.
This is not the waitress' or the place's fault.... It's basically my fault since Dan always orders and messes things up! I could create a whole folder of reviews on this site where I discuss Dan accidentally ordering the wrong thing.
We ate the burger as I didn't want to be wasteful and send it back. Though I was not happy about the beef burger (kinda greasy like most beef burgers in generally are) but the fries were great. Definitely didn't taste frozen and I'd guess they were hand cut.
I'd like to come back for a hawks game and actually get the bison burger. I also noted the menu had a black bean burger which was nice for the vegetarians who are out to eat.
This bar is located in the building that used to be Gametime Pub. I was not a fan of Gametime, so at first I was hesitant about coming here. I came in during lunch break with a co-worker one day for lunch. The food was actually very good. I had the Chipolte Chicken Sandwich and it was great and pretty decently sized. My buddy got chicken strips which he liked as well. They have a decent little selection of craft beers, including some Goose Island Green Line, Matilda and 312. I also saw the usual Blue Moon, Stella, Bells Oberon etc... The bartender was very friendly, nice, and attentive, however the bar was empty. (Granted it was about 2 on a Wedneday). Prices on the food were a little high for what it was, but overall a good experience and I would absolutley go back. As for the bar atmosphere at night, I cannot comment, but the building itself is decently sized and they do have a nice patio.
