Well, we tried this restaurant again after the last horrendous outing due to the manager calling after seeing our review here. This time the calamari was good and not dripping with oil although the "marinara" sauce was more like heated canned tomatoes. The bread was good but when we asked for olive oil and herbs our waitress stated they did not serve that there (although we had it last time and two tables over had it on their table), so she actually gave us a bowl of herbs and spices and we made our own. We decided to try the "Yardley burger" once again as that was the worst burger we ever had as was stated in our last review. Well some things just do not change as the burger was just ground beef, no spices, nothing added such as onion, garlic, salt/pepper, nothing, just plain ground beef which was horrible as even the texture of the beef was very pasty as though it was ground too fine. They tried to mask the poor taste of the hamburger with a 1/2" thick piece of tomato, lettuce and red onion but that made it so thick and the bread was so spongy that we took the meat out and tried to eat it in that manner. This was not a good choice as the burger was horrible without any of the toppings. The french fries were burnt again but at least crispy this time and not flexible like noodles like they were during the last visit. Although the staff was friendly and attentive, they could not make up for the failure of the food as we have now decided that two times and still bad food has turned us away for good from this restaurant.
Review Source:Another weekend, another bridal shower. Ahh, life in your mid twenties (I'm gonna go ahead and stretch the mid-twenties designation until at least 28).
This was a lovely spot for a shower. We had a private room upstairs which comfortably seated about 20 of us comfortably around 1 large table. (Warning: the stairs are steep and kinda narrow, so if you're expecting huge gifts, maybe rethink this). However, I think there was another larger shower going on downstairs which looked like a good spot too.
We had our own waiter who was very attentive (especially with the sangria, yum) and very nice. We were able to order brunch from what looked like the full menu. Really enjoyed my eggs benedict and the crab bisque soup (which comes in a smaller version if you, like me, like eating many things). Also had some asparagus salad which was very good, but a LOT of asparagus.
Large table to accommodate gifts, and overall a great spot for this type of event for a smaller, more intimate crew.
