We went zip lining across the street from this place.  After that crazy adventure, we were craving a beer and saw the sign.  What a most pleasant surprise.  The beer was ice cold, just the perfect amount of foam.  But, that pizza was amazing.  So glad we picked this place!  We will definitely go here again!  The bartender was friendly and it was an all around great experience.  The only thing that sucked were the bathrooms.  Like a bad camping trailer, but I only needed to wash my hands, so I can deal.  Next time we go zip lining, that's where we're going!

3.5 stars!  I visited the Yodeler in the Summer, it's a fairly small bar with a few tables.

    Pros:
    Good service and friendly bartenders
Oversized import beers on tap for $6.50
Appetizers were good (wings, poppers, etc.)

    Cons:
The place is too small inside.
The seats at tables had zero back support, just benches.
Pizza was OK but not great.  Not enough sauce, cheese and dough taste were kinda bland.  But it was served piping hot, and the dough was fluffy at least.  $20 for a 3-topping 16-inch pizza.

Been here a few times when camping.
Always have to order food at the bar, they will bring it out to you, but order at bar.  Decent drink prices and good selection of beer and liquors.
Food is also pretty decent as well.  Staff is always friendly.  No complaints here.

If you're not friends with the bartender, don't bother. I was eager to try their pizza, but after 5 minutes standing at an almost completely empty bar, I was not even acknowledged. This was especially frustrating because there were maybe 8 customers to a whopping 4 people working behind the bar. I wish I could comment on their food or drinks, but I didn't even get a chance to place an order.  This is a two star instead of a one star review because the group (who were clearly friends of the bartender) were having a great time.

So, my mama wanted to take a little drive around the little town of Wrightwood. It was evening time. We parked our vehicle and walked around. While we were walking, we happened to notice this place. Mom wanted to go inside. Sure! This was during the beginning of July.

We walked inside and sat ourselves down at a picnic table covered with a red and white checkered tablecloth. I walked up to the bar ordered her a gin and tonic and I got a bottle of Blue Moon summer wheat.

The music was playing. My mom was enjoying it. Later my stepdad stopped by with his musical menfolk. He's a musician, and somehow worked his way into playing with the band on stage. That's so like him. He even dedicated a song to my mom (it was her birthday). It was cool to see him serenade her. She looked a little embarrassed. I must admit that it was adorable to see my mom being serenaded.

That this happened, showed that this is a pretty chill bar/lounge. They just let the musicians do their thing, as long as no one was getting hurt.

While the music was playing (it was that typical blues stuff that some adults appreciate at these types of establishments) we ordered some great pepperoni pizza.  So fresh and tasty! Lovely crust.

It was an unforgettable night, hanging out with my mom, stepdad, and pals.

Really went down the crapper years ago!
I first visited in the mid 70's and it was great.
I went there for years and saw it gradually go downhill. This decade it's become a joke!
    Way overpriced and lousy food!
Their pizza used to be great, now it's lame. Their burgers were fantastic and now you need a magnifying glass to see them. Their beer prices have gone through the ceiling as well!
The clientele has always been "unique", but in recent years it's really gone downhill and the rudeness of the patrons has followed the general downturn in courtesy and consideration for others.
If I want rowdy, I go to the Raccoon Saloon across the street. That place makes no excuses about the patronage and I accept that.
The "Yodeler" is nothing to yodel about!

Character is the first word that comes to mind after a visit to The Yodeler.  After a long day hike to Mt. Baden-Powel, we opted to eat at the Yodeler after reading all the positive yelps.  The exterior facade reminded me of Santa's Village with a candy cane decorated tree, Christmas lights and other adornments.  The outside patio was filled with various locals -- young and old. The interior has typical darkwood bar tables. Clearly, we were from out of town, but we were greeted warmly.

We ordered at the bar, and they brought out our food to us in the patio.  The bar offered a decent variety of beers on tap and bottled.  The garlic bread was crunchy and not drenched in butter.  The pizza was delicious and served piping hot.  The crust was thin and crisp.  Service was casual which suits the mood of the place.  (My only concern was watching one of the servers and maybe the cook taking a cigarette break on the patio while our food was cooking, but I left it was part of the restaurant's personality.)

Wrightwood offers a small number of dining options.  So glad that the Yodeler is one of them!

I've eaten numerous times at the Yodeler because I have a friend that sings there monthly. I always have the pizza and I LOVE it. My friends have had the steak dinner and always leave their plates clean. The atmosphere is cozy and familiar. The staff is attentive and very friendly. It's a casual atmosphere so it's easy to meet new people. I really appreciate that they have live music!

My wife and I are locals, and we love hitting the Yodeler regularly.  They are only one of two establishments here in Wrightwood that really support *live* music.  Open mic night is Friday, and established bands play Saturday.  They clearly take pride in their "pub grub", especially their pizzas, steak dinners, burgers, and on Mondays their taco night is the best deal in town.  My wife loves their garlic&parmesan-loaded chicken sandwiches.  Their portions are bigger than we normally need, in fact.  Recently they got Racer 5 on tap (how can you argue with that?), and they have some real finds in their bottled beer selection (I like the various Stone and Sam Smith beers they offer).  If you are a single-malt fan, they always keep a few choice Scotches in stock, too.

This place is so much fun and the owner is HOT!! They have good beer selection and the food is impressive too. I had the pizza, salad and breadsticks. At night they have a live band. When I was there they had a Jazz band, the old men were adorable we had a great time dancing and met really nice people everyone is friendly. Can't wait to go back.

Great Dive Bar!  Pizza was pretty good, especially if you love great crusts.  Saturday night entertainment included a live band and very cheerful old man who danced with all the ladies in the house.  Not creepy at all.  I would highly recommend the Kahlua Coffee (with whip cream of course!

A trip to Wrightwood wouldn't be the same without a Yodeler pizza and a pitcher!!

This place has been a community staple for the last 35 yrs. I've been coming up to Wrightwood and staying at the family cabin.  It is a good pizza and beer place, with picnic table seating.   If you're looking for tasty food, jukebox music (or live music on Saturdays at least), and nothing to fancy, this is a solid place for a bite.  The only thing I miss is the pool table that they had here years ago!

Family and I love getting the medium size Works Pizza here with pitcher of sierra nevada. My dad is a very picky eater but he gives the pizza at The Yodeler a 95 (That's an honor for sure).

Sometimes they have live band playing here. There are outdoor seatings and indoor seatings. They have about 4 kinds of draft beer there: Coor's light, Sierra Nevada, Hefe, and something else I can't remember... It get pretty packed on a busy night.

It was on a monday night and I guess The Yodeler has Monday Night Tacos. Had the potato taco for $1.50. It was pretty delicious. Heard chicken tacos 2 for $5 was really good too though I didn't get to try it.

Def a must stop restaurant if you are visiting Mt. High!

Part of the celebration of our anniversary was zip lining with navitat, and the Yodeler made a great spot to have lunch afterwords.

For a small mountain town bar that serves food I was impressed with the extensive size of the outside patio.  They even had the music playing outside which was a nice cityish touch for a fun afternoon atmosphere. You have to order at the bar, which in our experience was backed up.  To who looked like a manager or owner helped out the one lady working behind the counter to make it through the rush. Food is good and comes in large portions.  I'll make sure to stop by again in a few months once mt. high is open for an after shredding drink and meal.

This is a very convenient place to eat after a ziplining tour with Navitat across the street.

It is basically a dive bar that serves food. You have to order at the bar and they bring it out to you. I ordered the Hot Beef Dip Sandwich after they said they didn't have the Chicken or Philly sandwich (my first two choices). I didn't expect much but it was absolutely delicious! The meat was super tender and bread was really soft. The au jus DEFINITELY made the sandwich--wonderful flavor! I also had a side of potato salad which was equally as good. It was a nice simple, but appetizing sandwich. I was surprised and very satisfied :)

This bar is perfect for people who want to have drinks with their friends and listen to a live band and still be able to hear your friends talk, and meet the locals. It's a very down to earth, mountain bar. I love that they have an outdoor patio where you can drink and they also have heat lamps for those cold winter nights. Never had the food there but they do have Corn Chips and stuff like that. Everybody is really nice and theres a decent size younger crowd especially during the snowboarding season, but you also have your mid-aged crowd to and your occassional bar weirdo that sits by himself and stares at everybody but what bar doesn't. Anyways, I love to go here. There's some good eye candy and most everyone is up for some good conversation and laughs.

Cool little bar with an outdoor patio, perfect to relax after a long day of mountain sports and have a beer with the company of friends and your dog.

My choice was a Newcastle on draft, served in a big ol' stein. I wish they had more draft beers, but they do have a wide array of bottle brews. $22 for 5 beers... Not bad!

It was fun! I'll definitely stop by again!

I've been here a few times after going to Mountain High. This place looks like your standard rustic mountain town dive bar; but its somewhat of a surprise -- the food is way better than you think it's going to be.  Great burgers and the fries are different and really good.  I didn't have the pizza but it looked good too.
In fact, Mountain High should hire these guys to run their so-called food services (the food at Mountain High blows.)

The place itself is very dive like.  But that is what I like!

    OK guys....

What can i say about this place.....

well we went on a motorcycle ride up angeles crest and we had an unfortunate incident whereas one of our new fellow riders was in a head on collision on the mountain.

we started the ride in La Cresenta and rode up the mountain ending up at this fine establishment.

As we arrived, i got the feeling of a family owned restaurant 2 cute younger girls working the kitchen and a mom preparing burgers. I figure the son was working the bar...

we arrived and quickly ordered something to drink followed by our meals.

    No waitress service BTW:

we walked to the bar and we ordered our food. 4 out of 5 of us ordered burgers for we watched the mom preparing them by hand.

the burgers were OK. the fries were good and the coleslaw was better than good. Not great but good.

The ambiance was just there, not anything really. But then again what can you expect from a biker bar/rest....

since we were really hungry the food was OK.
    we ate and left quickly.

Its been my experience that mountain top restaurants/bars dont really have good food. Some, just OK food. But never really good.

I recommend this place, considering your options.

they have pizza, but none of us had any. so who knows.....

    Come ride with us!!!!
