This place is an oasis of barbecue. Oooh baby this stuff is good.
The pulled pork is delicious without sauce, but with it, it's divine.
The fried pickles are just wonderful. They make the fried green tomatoes and okra incredibly jealous.
And the location is all south Georgia. On a corner, outdoor seating only, picnic tables. Love it, love it, love it.
You should stop by.
If you ever find yourself passing through the small Southwest Georgia town of Camilla, be on the lookout for a tiny red building. It should have some smoke rising toward the sky, and the meat treasures it holds inside are too great to pass up.
Seriously, I think this place has my favorite ribs of all time. They're definitely different (nowhere near the same as Texas-style ribs), but my favorite nonetheless. They have a bit more "solidity," than other places in the area who make them with a more pulled-pork consistency. They also have some kind of amazingly-awesome pepper rub/seasoning, are usually cooked perfectly and ultimately, tasty down to the last bite.
I've also sampled their brisket, chicken, etc., and they're all solid, I just like the ribs so much I never get anything else. As far as sides go, the sweet potato fries are awesome if you have time to eat them while they're hot (not very good cold), as well as the beans and potato salad. Brunswick Stew is also OK. Oh, and they have two sauces: one is more traditional (sweet with a little kick), the other is mustard-based (and my preference).
The fact I had to add this business on Yelp shows how small it is, but if you're in the area, you HAVE to try this place. They may not know who you're talking about, but tell 'em Daniel sent ya!
