The setting is nice and their markup is reasonable. But for specializing in wine they failed. Sub-standard glasses and when we purchased a bottle it was pulled from the room temperature rack (75 degrees) and served. We asked to bring the temp down and it came back about 70, no where near a nice merlot should have been.
Review Source:1313 main is an amazing place! We had a surprise birthday party there with about 50 guest. Blair Hunt did a great job helping me plan the event. They set everything up so well. The wine, venue, and food were awesome. I would recommend anyone that wants to put an event together (big or small) to go to 1313 Main and check it out.
Review Source:I was here when this place first opened, I returned last weekend and was wowed by the changes. I love the new couch that was added to the lounge. I thought this place was great when it opened, but it is even better. Sat at the patio and their Wine Director ( very knowledgeable guy) suggested we try the Perrone. So much fun, we ordered a 2nd bottle. I was reading they are adding a full kitchen and am looking forward to returning to sample the food. I love their wine selection, nice to taste wines that you do not find on the grocery shelf. And of course you get what you pay for...
Review Source:I am not a bar scene kind of guy, so when I go out with friends I tend to go to calmer places to drink. 1313 Main is at the top of my list. It has a classy lounge feel to it, yet they keep it casual and cozy. The manager, Al, is very friendly, and very courteous, as well as the staff. I've never had a disappointing experience.
Chef Ryan's dishes are delicious, they are perfect for a quiet evening with a nice glass of red wine. I will keep coming back to this place whenever I get the chance. My favorite spot in Napa!
An alright experience. I wouldn't go again. But maybe an $8 2 oz. taste of wine in a super trendy wine bar with techno music playing isn't my thing. I've tasted wine in many places. Places more comfortable, more friendly, with better music, better prices and better selection. Â
My husband had a flight of 3 wines, I had a single taste. With tip we spent $48. And it just wasn't that fun. In fact it just wasn't that ANYTHING. There are too many better places to spend my money. Even the $190 *cough* that we spent at Morimoto afterwards was better spent.
For a fun bar experience is recommend Fagiani's. For wine lounge/bar I'd try Carpe Diem next time.
I had the pleasure of attending an event at 1313 Main last night. It was my first time experiencing this venue. What a beautiful, well designed and furnished wine and restaurant! We had the pleasure of meeting Al and Lucie who were delightful and very gracious to us.
I look forward to coming back and enjoying the food, wine and atmosphere very soon.
We brought 6 people in here on a *Wednesday* night when it was dead. Which it usually is. Now I know why. Â It's actual very mathematical. 6 short wine pours + rude server = I will never bring 6 people in again. On any night. Nor will I recommend this place. It had a nice atmosphere, however rude servers and short pours cannot compensate for atmosphere. Just be nice. It really is that simple.
Review Source:I'm from San Diego and come up to Napa frequently. I always make a trip to 1313. The ambiance is hip, classy, yet casual at the same time. I love their selection of wine, a little on the pricey side but you really do get what you pay for. The service is outstanding which is the #1 thing I look for when going out esp with so much competition around in Napa. During my last visit, my friend and I stopped in a little before closing and the staff did not rush us at all. In fact they were extremely warm and welcoming.... had great conversation with Steven and our wine server. Just had an overall great experience. Thank you 1313 and I will be visiting soon!!
Review Source:I was exposed to 1313 Main last week through a Napa Valley food and music festival (Bottle Rock), where they were a featured sponsor serving both food and wine samples. Â My wife and I were so impressed with both the food and wine, that we made a point to go to their actual restaurant later that evening! And we were so glad we did -- their actual restaurant/lounge was a real treat. Â The ambiance and decor of the place is comfortable and unpretentious, despite the fact that this really is a place for wine and food aficionados. An outside back patio has comfortable sofas to enjoy wine and appetizers. They had a band this evening, which made the place even more fun (not sure if music is the norm though). Can't wait to go back next time we're in Napa!
Review Source:1313 Main is an amazing wine bar and lounge. I love the elegant setting and the staff is superb. My husband and I love coming here after a long week of work to unwind. I'm always in for the bubbles and my husband likes to try new wines. And boy do they have new wines to try. You can't leave there without bringing some of the wine home with you. An outstanding wine list. Nothing too stuffy just perfect for everyone's taste. I drag people in there and they fall in love with Al, Steve, Lucie and rest of the excellent staff. If you want to try something unique, fun and expertly organized go to 1313 Main Wine Bar and Lounge. AND, now with Spring here and Summer around the corner, the back patio is open. Perfect for even us old folk to enjoy. Just love the place :).
Review Source:Just the right ratio of party to classy!
There's not tooooo much for nightlife in Downtown Napa. I was looking for a cool and chill place for our girls' night out that's a little better than your typical bar.
This place is like a wine bar and a lounge put together. You get a nice, large selection of wine with plenty of upbeat music to dance to.
There's plenty of couch-like lounge seats to sit at, but there's also a bar are you can enjoy, too!
I love their selection of wine flights. I tried "Sweeter By The Minute" made up of the following:
2011 august kessler riesling (kabinett) - rheingau, germany
2011 banfi "rosa regale" brachetto - piedmont, italy
2007 royal tokaji company furmint - hungary
It was a nice progression of sweetness. I would definitely get it again!
This is a good spot if you're looking for a nice, classy evening with some friends or a good date!
Swanky little wine bar in downtown Napa.
Friendly staff and fun ambiance.
Got lucky and hit music night last Thursday.
The only complaint is that the place is freezing! Other than that I think this is a sweet place for a date night or girls night out.
Looking forward to going back for another glass of wine.
Finally tried it out while visiting Napa for the holidays. Friend suggested it. Nice alternative to the wannabe divey atmosphere of Henry's. Was surprised that they served beer here. Happy to see they had Dogfish Head. Good choice. Tried the Cru 32 flight. Pretty cool idea to have wine flights. Wanted to try the others, if anything just because of their clever play on words. Looking at you Bubble Trouble and Red Red Wine. Not a big wine drinker, but when in Napa...
Might seem hoity toity, but the staff was cool and it was a good spot to hang out at. Tried the cheese despite being all Super Dude from "All That" (lactose intolerant). But it was worth it. Especially the Grayson.
I love that this wine bar isn't in the congested part of downtown Napa. Â Being off the beaten path a little means fewer tourists and easier parking, plus there are places to shop on Main Street that are close. Â
A friend and I were here mid afternoon on a Friday, so we were lucky to have the manager mostly to ourselves. Â He is friendly, knows how often to check in and give us time to chat, and he was very accommodating when I didn't like one of the pinots on the flight I ordered. Â My friend and I both love the space- nice cushions, great large table for groups, great atmosphere. Â
Check out their facebook page for updates. Â We will definitely be back!
As a Napa local. this was my second time visiting 1313 Main for a friend's birthday celebration. While our first experience here was positive, this second visit left me not wanting to return, nor would I bring my out of town guests. The unwelcoming doorman, coupled with a pretentious vibe that suggested that we "hurry up and leave" made for a very uncomfortable situation. I regret that we spent money here when there are so many other wonderful places to visit in Napa.
Review Source:I can't say enough about this place. It's all great and the people who work here have a stake in making this place great. You can feel that and it comes across well - great Mgt Al for building such a great team. The wine is great and recently tried the cheese tray!!! Excellent and 5-Stars! Also, swing by for bubbles and beats - the DJ and/or music is great! Thanks 1313!
Review Source:Very nice spot. There's a dj who played some great classics ranging from TLC to TOP 40s and though the dance floor was sparse it was still appreciated. The vibe was simply relaxing and there are a number of spots to lounge (booths, bar, tables, couches) The waitress was pretty attentive though she could have had a better attitude. Overall a nice experience at this low key yet inviting venue.
Review Source:As far as wine bars go, this is pretty basic. Â Although the staff sometimes out-number the patrons, service is pretty bad considering the prices for food and drink followed by a 20% tip. Â We've visited a handful of times because they're close and friends often like to meet there, but we often have to go looking for our wait-person. Â The wine selections are superb and staff knows their wine. Â The food dishes aren't particularly noteworthy and are over-priced considering they are a wine bar. Â The outdoor area has a lovely ambiance but the selection of seats and their arrangement make the setting more appropriate for large groups rather than intimacy. Â In general, the place offers great wine, convenient location, and adequate ambiance with so-so service.
Review Source:Hands down, the best Wine Bar in Napa.  Al and Lucie know what they are doing and have been doing so for some time with http://CalWine.com  I don't get in as often as I would like to, but every time I do, it is always fun, I meet someone new and interesting and the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Review Source:A wonderful place to bring a date or a group of friends, or just by your self. Â The Staff here are very friendly and Al and Vince have put together an awesome list, this is the place to get great wines by the glass and enjoy thought out flights of wine. Â No wonder celebrities from all over come here. I would recommend getting their special appetizers. Boy, did Napa need this place and Al put it together...Thanks AL
Review Source:1313 is a great spot! It's hip and classy without seeming too exclusive or snobby. They have a great selection of wine and champagne at a variety of price points. Â It's a great place to take a date or meet up with friends for a drink, though it didn't strike me as someplace I would want to eat dinner.
I will definitely be going back.
Great atmosphere, very friendly staff! Â Every time I've gone to 1313 Main the staff have made me feel like a VIP, and trust me... I'm NOT! Â LOL
The only downside is not enough beer on the menu. Â I know they are a wine bar, but they do carry a small selection of specialty beers. Â I just wish that selection was a little bigger and carried seasonal selections year round.
I highly recommend 1313!
If 2 live crew was still alive (are they still around?), loved wine and had a single out called "hey we want some Pauilac!" Â They would hang here.
If you listen to Psy's song carefully, that crazy Korean is actually singing "Napa gangnam style~"
I am an absolute fan of 1313 Main. I noticed in the wine country, one has two choices when it comes to getting your drink on at night. Fancy schmancy or Jenny from the block. There is nothing wrong with either of the choices. If you are bit older, you definitely need the schmancy in your game / pants and if you happen to be a newly popped early 20's vintage, then by all means, drink your Redbull and vodka and plan that next trip to plan-parenthood office. But for us who fall somewhere in between, who require something a bit more hip than Fixodent and something a bit more sophisticated than Jägermeister bombs; 1313 Main is the place to be (I know where it is but what is it called???? - that is for Heather and Kristi =)).
The decor is minimal and modern. There is a DJ spinning in the back and the servers are ALL GOOD and cool as hell. Wine selection is good and the place was an absolute joy to just mingle and suck down some wine and champagne . Being Awesome, I was there with 3 gorgeous girls and got my party on till the break of dawn. But your experience may vary (I am such a dork).
But seriously, don't forget to stop by... Napa gangnam style.
Happy drinking - R
we came at 6 after an early dinner, and the only patrons other than us were sitting out back on the heated patio. Â a little strange, but the server was super friendly, so we felt ease and ordered some glasses of wine. Â it was our wedding anniversary trip. Â We happened to mention it and our server thoughtfully vrought us the chocolate flight as a gift! Â did i mention how friendly and unpretentious the service here is? Â its a gorgeous place! Â Its the type of place you come to after dinner to get fantastic bottles and stay till closing. Â gorgeous fireplace, green leather and velvet couches, red leather stools, rustic wood panelled walls, cork floors. Â I am going to have to come back!
the only Con is the viewout the front windows, which was ugly. Â i think they might need some drapes!
We grabbed a delicious cheese plate and flights of wine here before our late dinner reservation.
Not many places in Napa stay open late for wine tasting, so we chose this place. It had a good wine selection, a modern and chic atmosphere, and the staff was so cool and informative! We were told that by our waiter (an actual chef), that he is in the works to opening the kitchen for dinner items in addition to the light appetizers.
It was a great place to go with girlfriends, or with couples. (Probably not a guy hangout...)
It was expensive, but comparable to Napa prices.
I would recommend for a before/after dinner place. Not your final location (unless a chill/nice bar is what you're looking for)
I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon! Â
The outdoor area was an oasis away from the tourist hustle and bustle of the Napa Valley and the service was beyond impeccable! The wine experience was fantastic along with an enjoyable experience just choosing it! Lucy and Al, the owners I had the pleasure of meeting that day, were always attentive to everyones needs and accommodating. Â Along with the staff, they were so knowledgable of the selection, food, and just promoted a friendly ambience in general! 1313 is the gem of downtown, an absolute sanctuary for any wine lover!!
Cant wait to return!
On a Sunny Wednesday evening, after a 2.5hrs traffic from South for Winemaker Wednesdays event, finally we have arrived 1313 Main. 1313 Main is a really modern, trendy, stylish atmosphere wine bar. The atmosphere is outstanding and the seating is comfortable. It is good for a date night or just hang out with peeps. Their age groups are from 20s to elder folks.
Al, the wine bar owner, has showed us around and let us took pictures freely. When we returned to our table, there were already two glasses of champagne with a plate of Goat Cheese waiting for us. They have large selection from bubble to white to red even beer. 1313 Main is a really supportive local wine bar, most of their wine are from CA and some of them are from international. On the in house menu, they have wide selection beside take home. If I ever have a chance to try different wine from them daily, I think it will take me at least 10years to finish all the wine tasting. Questions for the wine? No worries, all of their staff are well educated and helpful. They do suggest what kind of food to pair with the wine you order. The most incredible thing is, they have 32 lockers for the exclusive members. Member has their own key to easy access to their own lockers for their wine.
Let's talk about my taste bud experience. I have tried the Sweeter By The Minute Flight beside Brut Prestige champagne. It includes, 2010 St. Urbans-Hop, Riesling, Germany; 2004 Topaz, Sauvignon Blance and NV Heitz, "Ink Grade", Port, Napa pair with Chef selection of the Blue Cheese. I personally love white and sweet wine, so Sweeter flight is perfectly made my taste bud happily dancing. 2004 Topaz is my favorite, it is obvious at the sweeter side, so it's absolutely good for after dinner. On the regular days, I'm a Riesling girl, so 2010 St Urbans-Hop does made me joyful. It has citrus and lychee fruit flavors kicking. However, the "Ink Grade" is little bit too strong for me. I have to give a thumb up to the chef pairing, the blue cheese went amazingly with the wine.
Even there are so many wine bars and wineries in Napa, but 1313 Main is definitely one of the kind. It will not goes wrong as locals and tourists visit.
Awesome selection of bottled wines...
You wont find any 2 buck chuck here BUT you will find decently market priced wines that you wont be able to find at your local wine store...
If u look at the top of the shelf...they literally store all their TOP SHELF wines there...Caymus Special Reserve to Silver Oak to Opus One...very, very good selection of wines...
Owner and proprietor is a great source of wine info...
Definitely a must try if youre in the downtown Napa area.
The staff was very attentive and knowledgable, and recommendations were great as well. This is a very modern wine bar with a very nice atmosphere. Make sure to be here early so you get to sit at where you want! This place gets filled up pretty fast, especially near the end of early dinner time.
WIll definitely recommend!
Did not experience the attentive service I was hoping for while at the bar. Got allot of cockiness from the guy in a tie while asking a preference between two selections. Also felt as if attending a high school reunion, bro-fest.
*edit: Funny how this review was randomly deleted from this business's yelp account. I guess when you buy into advertising with Yelp you get the ability to remove any bad reviews...
The staff was very attentive, friendly, and they made great recommendations for us on some affordable priced wines (under twenty dollars a bottle). Â We did a couple of their suggested flights to start off. Â I narrowed my tasting down to a delicious glass of 2003 Corison Cabernet from Napa (of course, when in Rome!). Â I had never tasted Corison's wine before and I am so grateful to 1313 for the introduction!
We ordered the chef's tour plate to accompany our wine. (The pork rillettes and the pork pate are over the top amazing). Â The tour included three cheeses and three appetizers and it was way too much rich deliciousness for the two of us. Â We tried our best to finish it, as it was paired so perfectly with our wines. Â Definitely worth ordering for a party of four or more. Â At 40.00 it's a great price for the quality of food!
People simply need to discover this place...7 days a week! As one who pays absurdly close attention to details, I can only say that this place does precisely the same thing. The atmosphere is divine, the venues, seating and lighting are very comfortable; the wine, beer and other list is beyond "smart"...and the staff and service is impeccable!
1313 is quickly becoming one of my regular Napa Valley haunts, whether it be with my someone special, a group to have fun with, or like I did last night...just hide in a corner and enjoy a drink while playing on my iPhone.
Bravo 1313!
