Why, oh why on a Saturday night when there are only 6 other people in the bar, would any kind of bartender look anyone dead in the eye while standing in front of his fully stocked bar and say "I don't make specialty drinks" when all I've asked you for is a lemon drop. Thats lemon, sugar, vodka, and ice. All of which I know you have because you gave me lemon in my blue moon and ice in my vodka redbull!!!
I could understand your lack of ability to perform this task if you were, say, quadriplegic or if I was asking for some drink I made up and it was a packed house AND you were the only person on staff, but that was just not the case.
oh ps, Mr.Bartender why was the little (maybe 8 year old) girl you hugged, even in a bar at 10:30pm? Thank goodness I'm only judging your bartending abilities, not your parenting skills.
We were staying up the road at the Thousand Trails and looking for a decent restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Â The service was great, servers knowledgable and wanting to make our visit a great experience. Â We ordered the New York steaks. Â A bit expensive, but the best (seriously) we've had. Â Very tender, seasoned just right, and cooked to perfection. Â We really enjoyed an authentic 'old' restaurant and saloon with a casual (blue jeans) atmosphere. Â Yep, we'll return when we come back to the area.
Review Source:Dropped in for an early dinner in the back dining room after hiking the Pinnacles. Ordered onion rings, and calamari fries for starters, a steak sandwich and burger for the main meal and a few pints to wash it all down. Overall the food was cooked to order with excellent flavor. Even the bar was crowded with people coming from the professional bull riding event down the street, the service was still efficient and attentive. Good place to have an inexpensive dinner in the area of TP. Not as nice or romantic like TP Inn, but not as expensive either.

Review Source:On the last ride down the 25 we decided to give the Hole a try. We arrived at 1130am only to figure out it isnt open until noon, whoops. But as we where trying to find an alternative the hostess came out and offered us a drink until the kitchen was ready. So we had a ice tea and watch cars and bikes drive by. For lunch I had the tri tip and my friend had the buffalo sandwich. Overall pretty good. My sandwich was good, not spectacular, but good. The caramelized onions worked well and the fries were tasty. I think my friend liked his buffalo chicken sandwich, I heard no complaints.
The interior was pretty neat, rustic cowboy with rifles and shotguns over the bar. But really it was nice to sit outside.
When you walk through the doors of the 19th Hole, you feel like you've been transported back to the old west. Â This is our version of CHEERS..."where everybody knows your name." Â Great food, (the rib eye is the best you'll ever taste), Great service, Great fun!!! Â I am the third generation of my family to be a fan of the "Hole". I love bringing our out of town friends, customers and family here for a fun and delicious experience.

We went there for dinner as we heard the steak was great .
A Rib eye, very large and cooked as requested. The rest of the meal fell short. Ceasar salad was ok, baked potatoe was the kind wrapped in foil, so not as fluffy as the real baked kind and the skin was not crispy, tasted more like boiled. The vegtable was sliced squash and so over cooked it was mushy . $25.95 seems like a lot to pay for a mediocre meal .
Would have been better to slice the steak for a sandwich and serve it with a side of fries.
The waitress was very nice, but it took forever for her to get our ice tea. We had ordered margarita's, but were told they didn't have a blender so we changed to tea. Â They have burgers and sandwiches and other bar food which may be better. This is not a dinner house. It is a bar that serves food. Â Doubt we'll go back
I love this place!! And I know for a fact that they don't use any "liquid smoke" on anything. That amazing smoke flavor you taste is from the oak wood they use to cook with.. also if your not in the mood for a ribeye try the skirt steak, its ridiculously good. You wont be disappointed.

I'm not sure I totally understand the name of the place. I'm assuming it's intended as the last stop after a full round of golf, but how golf and cowboys and Tres Pinos intersect, I'm not too sure except that's how it all goes down here!
The moment you step foot past the swinging double-doors into the Hole, it's like being transported onto the set of an old Western flick. do do dooo... do do dooooo. I almost feel out of place without cowboy boots on and a gun holstered on my hip, but then I realize no one else does either. Whew.
Split the ribeye ($23.95) with a fellow medium-rare lover, but was slightly disenchanted when it came out rare. I can do rare, except when the steak's grisly, as was the case at the Hole. But I was famished and it got the job done with an extra $6 split fee for another set of sides (baked potato, garlic bread, Caesar salad).
The best thing about this place is the ambiance, especially when dining in the evening on the patio. I won't be rushing back anytime soon (or to Tres Pinos for that matter), but I wouldn't protest the idea of an evening at the Hole with beers and, next time, a burger.
Everything here is excellent...from the relaxed atmosphere, to the service, and last but not least, the food.
My husband had the prime rib, and loved it. I went with the Hard Rider burger.
I'm so happy that this place is within walking distance. It will make an excellent place to stop by, to relax and unwind.
The burger with the jalapeno poppers is phenomenal and the french fries are also awesome--they are the thinner type which makes for nice and crispy. Also, the caesar salad with chicken was fresh and nicely grated cheese. Next time, I might ask for dressing on the side, very good dressing but a bit much for my taste. Drinks served in the jam type of jars. If it's a nice day, sit on the porch or you can always sit inside and check out the western decor. Great stop on way back from Pinnacles.

Located a scant few miles outside of Hollister, on the way to Pinnacles (7071 Airline Highway), this unassuming-looking establishment looks like an old saloon turned biker bar, which it is -- but it's a lot more, once you have a meal in the dining room.
The bar is over a hundred years old, and it has 'character' in spades. Â The shingle that hangs out front reads "Booze & Food', which is quite an understatement.
I've had dinner here on three occasions, and each time I've gone with the outstanding Oak-grilled Rib Eye. Â I had it again tonight, and I paused to savor every single perfectly-seasoned (and cooked to perfection) bite of this enormous steak. Â If you're really really hungry, I recommend getting the Rib Eye. Â It comes with a nice-sized baked potato with all the fixins, vegetables, garlic bread, and a Caesar salad -- all for about 24 bucks. Â It'll change your life.
If you're not quite starving, split the Rib Eye with a friend or loved one. Â They'll "split" it for you, and for a few bucks they'll provide each of you with your own baked potato, and all the sides. Â Very generous portions abound at The 19th Hole.
If you have room after your meal, I heartily recommend getting the Chocolate Lava Cake -- it's the best five bucks you ever spent, believe me! Â It's just the right size portion (very rich), and it's full of warm gooey dark chocolate heaven. Â I got mine with a side of ice cream, and all I can say is... WOW! Â
On the way out, I sung my praises to the head chef, Ken Rider, and asked him what his secret was. Â He told me he assembles his own secret blend of spices for his rub (Col. Sanders, eat your heart out), then grills the steak on a oak-fire grill. Â "Medium" was cooked perfectly...
There is a special room for groups, which looked like it would accommodate a party of ten. Â
Great, great place! Â Best-kept secret in this neck o' the woods. Â 5 stars.

The saloon was built in the late 19th century and has a ton of history. Â
A great spot to swing by on the way back from Pinnacles or if your riding through.

It's kind of shameful, but I came here for dinner one night while camping in nearby Pinnacles National Monument. Â (It was Final Four time and there were some Duke fans in the group.) Â We had a great experience--there were craft brews on tap, the bar food was good, the view of the TV was great, and the staff and other patrons were friendly. Â It's obviously a local hangout, but it seems they get enough out of towners as well that no one is overly interested about it.
Finally, there is a cowboy boot hanging from a rope attached to the door that we determined truly does function as a counterweight to shut the door behind you. Â Really, that should be all you need to know!
We saw this place on the way to The Pinnacles, but came back a few weeks later to actually stop and eat.
When I got home from first seeing it, I googled it and saw the website, which doesn't have a menu. What's the point of having a website for your restaurant if there's no menu on it? I was mainly concerned because my daughter is a vegetarian and I wanted to be sure she could eat there. I then emailed them for a menu, but nobody bothered to reply- and this was several weeks ago.
When we finally went there for dinner last night, they had  nothing for my daughter to eat but a slice of American cheese and some french fries.  They also don't serve milk. Thankfully we thought ahead and packed food for her just in case, and it worked out okay, but I really would have appreciated an email response either way.  Poor customer service is hugely discouraging, and I honestly would not have even bothered trying them, but they smelled so good as we drove past...
Anyway, for those of us who could eat there, the food was excellent, so we may come back if we're in the area. My husband had the tri-tip and said it was delicious, and I had the steak which was also wonderful, as were the side dishes (fries, mixed veggies, baked potato, salad).
I would recommend this place if you don't have any picky eaters (or vegetarians!) with you. They have a very limited menu, very few salad dressings, and the answer we kept getting was "Ma'am, this is a cowboy bar." Â
Please treat it as such.
Not kid friendly. Menu has nothing on it for kids and they weren't willing to make something easy like grilled cheese. Not even anything for kids to drink. Half expected them to offer us a kid's beer.
I ordered the BBQ tri-tip sandwich. The tri-tip wasn't bad but certainly not the caliber of food I expected at a BBQ restaurant. Small portion, only 3 strips of meat. Bread was cheap and the BBQ sauce wasn't better than the kind I get out of a bottle.
The interior of the restaurant is nice and I like the big glass jars that they serve drinks in.
My friends and I stopped in here today after hiking in the Pinnacles. I agree, if you are coming out of the Pinnacles and are tired after a day of hiking, the beer is cold and the menu is A-Ok. I split the prime rib sandwich and SLK salad (grilled chicken, grilled onions, parm, and balsamic dressing) with a friend. The staff was genuine with a small town vibe.
Beers and lunch for 4 came to $60 bucks total.
This is probably your 1st option and best bet for a good meal when you leave the east entrance of the Pinnacles and are heading north.
Reminds me of the Historic Iron Door Saloon bar near Yosemite, great vibe.... I love the decor.
Oh and the fries and chicken strips were delicious, not at all greasy and perfectly crispy without being overcooked. Â This place would do some serious business here in the Los Angeles area.
Stopped here with a friend on our way back from climbing at Pinnacles (National Monument.) The saloon doors in the front definitely foretell what you'll find inside - guns and arrows on the wall, with the occasional deer head for good measure.
The crowd seemed like locals and some bikers, but no dirty looks were caught in our direction, despite probably looking like we weren't "from these parts." The staff was friendly, and the beer was cold.
As for the food - granted we had been out in the heat all day climbing, and anything edible would probably have done the trick, but I'd say the food was pretty good. I had a BBQ sausage sandwich (my first, every other sausage sandwich I've ever eaten had tomato sauce if any), and I liked it. My friend said his tri-tip sandwich was pretty good too. The fries were up to par too. If you're in the area and hungry, the 19th hole's not a bad choice.
