After living in Oxford for the last 3 years, this is the only bar I haven't ventured to. Holy wow! The cougars and the drunk regulars were so entertaining. We opted to sit outside since the entire inside was completely packed. They have an extensive beer menu..bonus points. Me and the hubs both got the gyro-very good, you can't really go wrong with that. The table we chose to sit at was the "winning" table. We were right next to the exit gate where everyone had to go to smoke. Everyone sat their drinks on our table and insisted on chatting (slurring) with us the entire time they were smoking. We met some fabulous drunk people. Oh good times.

Manager was super rude and kicked out a girl on her 21st for walking in being too loud in saying hi to her friend then proceeded to use profanity and saying "I'm not dealing with this s*** on a Monday" worst experience at a bar in my life never going back

Hands down the best bar service I have experienced in Oxford. I am in the business, having been a G.M., A.G.M., bartender, and server. I have been to "The Tap" (bar across the street) three times, in order to give them multiple opportunities to save my patronage. (See my review)
The bartenders at 24th were awesome! Kristen started the conversation, her and the other bartender were great! Very accommodating, sweet and attentive.
I sat at the bar in plain view of the kitchen. It looked very clean and organized. They had around 12 tickets on their line in progress and seemed stress free. The food is your typical bar food. Burgers, sandwiches etc. I did not eat, but it looked and smelled great.
Very casual and comfortable. Great prices and amazing service! No doubt about it, this place will get my money before any other place in town. Keep up the good work Kristen and the 24th staff!!!

I have been going to 24th Street Tavern since it took over Rob's Place.  I have had consistently great service and good food.  The salads are huge as are the burgers.  My favorite sandwich is the Turkey Club - they actually use bacon that is thick and not transparent as in many sports bars.

I cannot comment on the reviews from the people that have come after 11 to dance, because we have never been there that late.  I consider this to be more of a sports bar than a dance club.  The all you can eat Sunday buffet during football season is fabulous.  And - since we are Green Bay Packer fans, we can go and watch our team.  When the owner sees me and my husband walk in, he recognizes us as Packer fans and he always makes sure the Packer game is on a tv, and directs us to a good table to watch it.

As for the reviewer that posted about the bad mashed potatoes and roast beef, this is not on the regular menu.  I have never seen it as a special either.  I think maybe he was at a different restaurant.

All in all, this is a great place to watch sports and get a good burger or sandwich.  The beer selection is good and the prices are reasonable.

I have been coming here for a few years and I find the food to be good, but the "tavern " part to be horrible. I have had a few bad experiences with this place. Nothing over the top but just enough to realize I really never want to go back here unless it is for a quick meal.

beer- They have great draft specials, but be prepared for your beer to be warm. They CONSISTENTLY serve their beer in fresh-from-the-dishwasher glasses, leaving your 22oz beer to be warm all the way through. Every single person at my table (5) were served beer in warm glasses for at least two rounds. This happens every time I go on a decently busy night. I am not a complainer so I just dealt with it.... and so did my friends

The music- TERRIBLE, and it seems to be the owner's fault. They are playing billboard hits from five years ago on a continuous loop. Again I have been going here for a few years and the same loop seems to be playing. Try and request a fun and more relevant song the DJ lets you know he is not allowed to play it.  Sorry I am sick of Nelly- country grammar. I noticed another reviewer who said they loved the music....saw it was posted 2 years ago and then understood why.

Children- again I expect kids to be there through the day but I become very put off when kids are still around past 10pm.

staff- I was glad to see that they got rid of the majority of their perverted bouncers, I think the wait staff at times leaves something to desire, like friendliness!

space- very small, if they happen to pull out a good song to dance to (rarity), you are in a very tight space, I suppose its understandable for the location though

Again, the food is pretty good, but If you are looking for a place to hang out after 11pm  just go somewhere else. this place should just close their doors at 11.

I realize that this is not a club, nor do I want it to be, but they really need to step it up in some key areas...especially the warm glasses!

Better hamburgers and sandwiches than The Oxford Tap, The Ox, or Red Knapp's. Good enough beer selection for a sport's bar and a good atmosphere. Great place to watch a game.

Glorified bar food without the glory.  Pretty sure I was told they actually have a chef?

Menu is nothing special.  Same stuff as the other bars in Oxford.

And if everyone could stop telling me "oh _______ (fill in name of any Oxford bar/grill) has great burgers!".  Because they don't.  I've had great burgers.... They are not found in Oxford.

That's the most annoying part of most of the American sit down restaurants in Oxford... No one does anything special.  It's all the same basic fare without a ton being homemade.

If you want a beer and to watch the game... 24th is fine.  But for a meal... I'll probably pass.

I really enjoy 24th Street Tavern. It adds an upbeat feel to the Oxford downtown. Every Monday everything on the menu is $5 with purchase of beverage. The burgers are monstrous and very tasty. Personal favorite would have to be the Rodeo burger (BBQ sauce, onion rings). They have a nice selection of beers that are a little pricy (a tall Blue Moon was $5). At night the bar really fills up quickly and I feel its always hard to find a spot on big weekend nights.

While I'd probably give the food here 1 or 2 stars, I'm bumping it up a couple for my experience for NFL Sunday.  I mean, I guess I can't really expect too much from a $9.99 all-you-can-eat buffet, but the food did satisfy my nervous football munchies (coneys, wings, lasagna, salad, nachos, tacos...)  This place earns 4 stars for it's service and atmosphere.  Being from Chicago and wanting to watch the Bears game, this place was EXACTLY what I had in mind.  TV's EVERYWHERE, FREE wi-fi (to check on fantasy all day), and plenty of seats available.  Also, the service was really good, very attentive but not annoying.  I guess my only gripe is that they didn't play the sound for the Bears game, but can I really expect that in the suburbs of Detroit?

Do not  go  into  this  place!!!!!!!!!!

I would  have  given this place five stars because  I almost  enjoyed   my  Saturday  night  there.  If  songs  were  ingredients   then the  DJ  had  the  perfect  recipe I  danced ...boy  did  I  dance!  The  drink were  great and the  prices  were  great!
However  the bouncers there were  not  nice.  My  husband  and I were  invited there  by  a  couple  of  friends.  i was the  only  woman  out  of the  four  of  us.  Our  bill  came  to  $67   and  my  husband  paid  a  generous  $40  toward  the  bill.  Our  friends apparently  only  made  up  the  difference.  The  waitstaff took  my  purse  and  my  husbands  leather  jacket  and hid  it  from  us  and  confronted  me  (the only  female) about the  lack  of  tip.   I  have never  had  a  man  get  in my  face  and  attempt  to  intimidate me.  I  never had  a  place  hold  my  coat  and  purse   ransom  for  a  tip  for  the  waitstaff.
The  two  friends  were  gone  and my  husband  was  in  the  bathroom.    I  gave the  bouncer  a  piece  of my  mind and hopefully  some  food  for  thought.
