I used to go here alot 6 or 7 years ago when I was in college at UWG, so when passing through Carrollton this afternoon me and my girlfriend thought it would be a good place to get lunch. Â It wasn't too crowded, so the service was great. Â We were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly, so kudos to the staff for that, which unfortunately was the only positive part of my experience with 302 today. Â I ordered the ATL chicken sandwich and it was more than disappointing. Â It came with only two tiny chicken fingers on it. Â I was able to eat the sandwich in about 4 bites. Â They try to make up for the tiny size of the sandwich with a ton of fries, which I don't like a lot of because as you know they aren't too good for you. Â So unless you're getting wings (which are still expensive compared to everyone else) go somewhere else, unless of course you want to leave hungry like I did.
Review Source:Burgers are quite good, but service is terrible and sloooooowwwww. Do not go on your lunch hour as you will NOT make it out in time. This place has potential, but it's a shame that, after an entire year, they still have not figured out how to staff the place or run it efficiently.
I am updating this review and adding a star. I Â have been back twice since, and the service is better. The Walker Texas Ranger is still the best burger in town. Start making homemade fries and onion rings instead of frozen, and you have a winning combination!
Things to know. They make their own tortilla chips. So good. I could just eat their chips.
Their fries are nothing to write home about. (Sorry, could do better.)
The Porker is delicious.
I like the BLT salad. Especially the description on the menu that says "more bacon than necessary".
I like their cheese dip but with the jalapenos in it.
Fried mac and cheese balls - I think everyone should have these once - they are a novelty!
There is a waitress who has blonde hair. She is amazing. Her face just is friendly. You will know her immediately by that description. I bet she gets a lot of tips. If not, she should. (I am not her. I just think she's great!)
I am surprised I am the first to review...but onto the review!
302 South street has had a few closings and grand reopenings over the last few years, but the food, atmosphere and decor have not changed much. Wednesdays are wing night, the chicken salad sandwich is my personal favorite, served on buttery Texas toast with just the right amount of grease. This place was pretty much the place to go to get the college atmosphere. It was the first place I went for orientation before I started college, I remember all the sports jerseys, fraternity and sorority shirts and logos everywhere. Now that they have reopened, the decorations are a little more simplistic and there aren't many signs inside that there is a college right down the road. For anyone who went to college at west Georgia, you know that the experience at 302 was just as important as the food. As for the food pretty typical bar type food, but it is still very good. Don't sit this one out!
