As I have been golfing at Majestic Oaks on Wednesday nights, I have been able to frequent The 46th Hole and can't complain about their menu. Â They have a wide variety of choices.
As you walk in to the place, it looks and feels like a post-round atmosphere. Â Most people are wearing their Titleist hats with tees sticking out the back and their freshly pressed slacks while talking about how they could have done better today. Â There are plenty of TV's to choose from showing sporting events relative to the season. Â Much like a sports bar, it also has some video games (Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, etc.) and pull tabs that support the locals.
Although the atmosphere is somewhat generic, the food is great! Â They always have a lunch and dinner buffet for an affordable price. Â It ranges from soup and salad bar to pizza to wings to actual entrees. Â If however, you don't feel like gorging yourself after your round, their menu is equally as good. Â Some of my favorites include the Mango Habanero wings (bone in or out), the Chile Lime Tilapia Taco's and the Chicken Salad Croissant. Â Most sandwiches come with kettle chips and a fantastic sour cream and onion dip (any midwesterner will love this).
If there is a disappointment to this place, it is the beer selection. Â Cheap, cheap and cheap. Â Not only in price, but in quality. Â Generally being a beer snob, I have to succumb to the 'lite' beer takeover. Â However, I don't have to empty my wallet while doing so. Â They do have a full bar for those who choose the stronger libations.
Service is hit or miss. Â There are always a lot of X-factors. Â Often busy and properly staffed, the service is pretty good. Â At times it can be slow, but understandably slow with all of the retired men taking the time of the good looking servers. Â Stop it! Â It is getting creepy!
I have had their brunch buffet. Â It is mediocre at best, but fairly affordable. Â (Not sure why this is of lesser quality than the regular menu/buffets...) Â They do host banquets and parties. Â Beautiful scenery in the banquet areas looking over the courses and green space, but food is on par with the brunch buffet.
I am obviously going back. Â I think you should too. Â Whether you are golfing or not, it is a good place to hang out if you are into the golf crowd like I am.
