Abbey

I recently got married at The Abbey and it was great. When my mom first suggested The Abbey, I looked at her in what I can only imagine was the most shocked face I've never made. The Abbey has always had a reputation around Franklin County for being a crappy dirty place where snowmobilers stopped for poutine and beer.
My now husband and I went up to look at it and they have really spruced it up! The grounds are pretty and the inside decor is subtle and nice. Everyone commented on how nice the room looked where our ceremony was, and the food was good! It was $500 to rent the facility (which is SO affordable compared to other places) and the buffet we chose was about $12/person. They had 6 or so buffet choices, or you could do a seated dinner.
The people I worked with were helpful and responsive. We also held our rehearsal dinner there, which was great.
I know it still has it's bad reputation, but people should take a 2nd look at the Abbey (at least for a big event). I would totally get married there again if I had to plan my wedding again.

Good, if limited, tap beer selection. Food is good and reasonably priced, but best to avoid the more ambitious menu choices.
