Ace of Clubs

It's somewhat ironic that I'm the first to review this place, given that I'm the exact opposite of the target demographic (and p.s. Alanis, this is a much better example of ironic than "rain on your wedding day".  I mean, wtf?)

Anyway, as part of an upstate bachelor party experience, I was obligated to pay a visit to the Ace of Clubs.   With a sense of trepidation (as well as flaccidity) I entered the club with my friends.  I was surprised at how friendly the bouncer was and by the fact that the place didn't smell as I awful as I'd anticipated.

Bartenders were also very nice, though the beer selection of Corona and Bud Light contributed to my ever-decreasing libido.  

The bar was maybe 3/4 full and the crowd seemed mellow but jovial.  The DJ was actually spinning some great mixes and between that and the TV in the corner showing ESPN, I found quite enough to keep me entertained.

The dancers seemed to be very professional and nice (although since they work for tips, being surly would be counterproductive, I would imagine).   There were a few who were more enthusiastic than others and they were amply rewarded for their efforts.  I did like they way they took wipes and cleaned the poles before each dance.  To me, that proved they were a classy bunch of ladies.   I must give them credit for dancing around in those shoes....it can't have been easy but they made it look like a piece of cake.  Well, at least when they were on their feet.  Sometimes they were more rolling around on the stage on their backs or knees, but I was still impressed.

Alas, I didn't avail myself of a "private dance" despite many offers but others reported their satisfaction.  

All in all, this wasn't a bad experience.  I had a nice chat with the owner, my friends had a great time and I left the place with fewer singles in my wallet than when I entered so I think it was win-win for all involved.
