Since other places in the area have gotten rid of or raised the prices on their $5 lunch specials, I regard half-nachos from Agave as easily the most food for the price in Oberlin. And not just tide-you-over-until-dinner food but delicious and reasonably healthy food. The pico de gallo is fresh and crisp, the pork is hot and juicy, and the queso isn't some gross goopy cheese but a well-seasoned sause that will make even people who don't normally like nachos (like me) smile. And even when the line is almost out the door, it never seems to take too long to get food.

Great place for burritos. We were searching for a place that wasn't packed and found this spot right off of main street. The selection was great (especially for a small town) and the service was okay, albeit a little distracted at first, thankfully, it's just a burrito!

They also serve booze. I like it!

A very good Burrito Bar with a small decent beer selection. They have a decent patio but the wi-fi doesnt reach outside.I'm not a very big burrito either but I will always come to a place like Agave. So if  your ever in Oberlin give Agave a visit because its rather good.

I love agave. They have a lot of vegan options and scrumptious food and there is often live music!!!

I come here a lot when I'm in Oberlin.

Overall, 3.5-4 stars. Agave isn't particularly mind-blowing, but the ingredients (which are local) are yummy and crave-worthy. I appreciate that you can pile on as much as possible for the burrito bowl. My favorite combination: veggie burrito bowl with black beans, sweet potato (!), fajitas, guac, spinach, cilantro, corn+bean, tomatoes, (no onions -makes my breath stinky for meetings), and a little chipotle sauce. Delicious.

Prices are okay. Wish there were bigger tables for bigger parties, but that's all right.

Agave has quality food -- made with fresh ingredients from local suppliers. The margaritas were great as was the ambience. Excellent food in a casual and friendly setting.

Last summer a bunch of us rode 100 miles round trip on motorcycles for Agave. That is all.

Great burrito-bar, especially considering it's in Ohio. More and better selection than places like Chipotle. They have fresh guacamole. The margaritas aren't terrible. They have Jarritos. I love the super nachos. They stay open really late on the weekends. Also, they now have an outdoor seating area they set up on the sidewalk when it's warm, which there should be more of in Oberlin. Leave tips, even if you're taking it to go--they're still making it for you!

My mom and I were driving back to Cleveland from Detroit via the turnpike.  Being around dinner time on a Thursday night we got off the highway and stopped in Oberlin.  After walking down College St, we chose Agave.

The menu board was really hard to read.  It is probably time to re-write the menu.  I ended up choosing the "small burrito"  on the spinach tortilla.  I wanted to try something different. I also got sweet potatos on the burrito.

The prices were ok.  The atmosphere was decent.  Overall, I'm not sure if I would go back again.  I would probably try something different the next time I'm in Oberlin, especially if there is a Chipotle nearby.

In Oberlin, only at Agave can you get a quick and delicious meal served in a lively atmosphere or on the go! The burritos are similar to Chipotle but have a more organic taste (both taste equally as good-just depends what day of the week it is). The guacamole on the burritos is "seductive" and simply to die for. The optional spinach tortilla adds to the organic nature of the Agave burrito. In addition to great burritos, the quesadillas are also absolutely delicious and prepared in an artsy manner. The selection of drinks (given the type of establishment) are second to none featuring high quality American and Mexican Beers, Mexican Jarritos sodas and Mexican Cokes. The atmosphere is vibrant and colorful. In the warmer months, the patio on College Street is a lovely touch as one can absorb the lovely sights and sounds of Oberlin in itself!

Solid non-greasy semi-Mexican food.  Pretty inexpensive and satisfying, even when you're not so stoned that you'll eat anything.  My one complaint is that the chicken and beans aren't really seasoned at all-- their toppings could use some more flavor.
Try the half-nachos: a good handful of crispy chips with queso and all the toppings you want for $4.75.  Yum.

Also, open really late.  A step up for Oberlin.

The burritos were interesting. Very non-traditional, had squash, mushrooms, spinach as opposed to lettuce,  but I enjoyed that. The margarita I had was very poorly mixed, way too much triple sec and highly disappointing. I think it marked the first ever truly bad margarita I've had. All in all if in Oberlin again I'd stop by, a neat little joint, but I likely would not order a drink again.

Not a chain.  That's a very good thing, if in fact it is not a chain.  Doesn't look or feel like anything other than a one-timer.  A bit skimpy on the atmosphere, but located just across from the Quad, or Ye Olde Greenwsard, or whatever das Oberliners call that massive college lawn area, they only really need to have a door.  And then unlock it.

Food is pretty good, fresh and filling, nice assortment of burritos, and all those other Meskin grub items.  Affordable Meskin beers, okay drinks.  (The guy mixing for us said, "This is my first night as a bartender."  It showed.  What manager says, "Hey!  This is one of the last Saturday nights of the school year...  I got it!  Timmy!  You're tending bar!"  Poor guy looked like W. at a press conference.)

Loud.  I said, LOUD!  It's very loud.  Painfully loud.  Hot.  I said HOT!  It is uncomfortably hot.  Still, not a bad place and the mix of  townies, tourists, visitors and college kids trying to look like they are down to their last couple trust fund bucks of the month is just too cute for words.  Wall to wall ironic t-shirts and understated Type-A Little Lebowski Achievers make this place a must-see in Oberlin-on-the-Black.

I don't like Chipotle or Qdoba, but I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed Agave. The atmosphere is very fun- there was classic rock playing while I was visiting- and the employees are relaxed but still attentive. All of the ingredients were fresh, and they were not stingy with the guacamole. I ordered a vegetarian platter with a side of tortilla chips and was thoroughly satisfied. It was in the same price range as chain-burrito places as well, and from what I hear it's open until all hours of the morning, which is always nice for a college-town burrito place.

In short: Agave is a fun, laid-back restaurant where you can get a yummy burrito for a decent price. Which is a pretty good deal, as far as I can deal.

Agave: burritos in Oberlin? Yes please!

A burrito joint! In Oberlin! Perfect!

This used to be a college-owned restaurant called The Foxgrape, that no one ever went to, except once my friend started working there, we would go and get served alcohol when the restaurant closed.

But you know, that's over. Every college town should have a burrito place, and this is a pretty good one. I wish they would grill the tortillas, though. But they have beer to-go (like Vegas!) so I can't be too angry.

Agave is like the Chipotle or Qdoba but with fresh ingredients. The service is fast and ordering is really easy. The burritos, nachos, and quesadillas are delicious and the portion of meat and vegetables in the burritos are huge. Though, the only downside of Agave is that they only have the standard three meat choices (beef, chicken, and steak) of a burrito restaurant.

We stopped in at this place for lunch with the children and grandchildren on a Saturday. The ambiance was a bit stark and rugged, but suitable for a college town, I think. The burritos and quesadillas were prepared quickly to order and were quite nice.

If you're hungry for Mexican, this place suitably fills the bill.

    Kids especially enjoy it here.
