Agave Jalisco Restaurant #3

For what it is, a small building, with a Dairy Queen like interior, in a small oil boom town, this place turns out very good Tex Mex....and surprise,  also a very good shrimp cocktail.  With a very large menu, and the shrimp cocktail in a huge glass stuffed with shrimp, you should stop in, if you're passing through. I've been here a half dozen times or more, and never disappointed.  Takes credit cards including AmEx.  More parking at the rear.  Don't expect a true 4 star place, just very good food.

Update:  I had never tried their breakfast tacos before, and having tried them....never, never again....how they can make such tasty food othewise, and turn out such incredibly bad b.t.'s is amazing....even the chorizo and egg, was dry as dust, and if there is any flavor it's only from the nuclear salsa.

Agave Jalisco is a small chain of Mexican eateries that stretches across the barren wastelands of South Texas. With that being said, the food is fairly good. Its got a small footprint, with booths across the wall, and a couple of tables. They typical have one or two servers. The menu is surprisingly extensive. Agave is a good choice whenever one finds themselves with an empty stomach in George West, TX.

Just another mexican food restaurant. The tv is usually on mexican tv channels and you can hear mexican music and the tv at the same time.

Check your frozen beer mug for cracks and chips taken out of them. I almost cut my lip open on one. The next visit I looked at the rim of the glass and it had a chip in it too. After the young waitress was done texting she noticed me tring to get her attention, we made ee contact, and she ran into the kitchen. So I grabbed the next waitress and she fixed my problem pretty quick. I noticed she put the chipped mug into the dirty dishes instead of the trash. So be cautious.

the food is pretty good, nothing I had was spectacular. the triple enchiladas were the best thing I had here.
