Having been in tis small town in the middle of nowhere Texas I was not expecting much in the way of great food.  Alejandra's was a welcome surprise in Ballinger.

I was there for breakfast since the motel that I was at did not have much for their continental breakfast.   I ordered the "all meat" omlette and was quite satisfied.   It was choc full of sausage, ham, jalapeno's (I added), and cheese.   THey say it wa only a 3 egg omlette but they might have been small ostrich eggs with the size of the portion.   The home fries were also a great surprise since they had the bonus of finely diced peppers and so much cheese that you would think they had dumped a cup of cheese on top.   The only down side is that they only offer white toast and not wheat or biscuits and gravey.  This might have been since they were sold out but they did not say.

This place is a great place for breakfast and if I am ever in the area again I would definately make time to stop and eat ANY meal here.   I am sure that the rest of the menu is just as good as the breakfast platter( the term plate doesn't do it justice for the portion).

What can you expect when you're in the middle of nowhere?  Pretty bland but the people were nice and the food was fine.  The chips tasted fresh.

Best non-fast food available in town on a Friday at 2pm coming thru Ballinger.

Their menu was deep (apps, salads, hamburgers, steaks, seafood and mexican dishes) as they REALLY do offer BOTH Mexican AND American food! (...maybe if they reflected that in their nam....oops.....nevermind).

If service is prompt (it was) and attentive (it was), it does not necessarily have to be cheery (it wasn't). But that is fine, because we were just here for the FOOD (which was good!).

Good queso, and terrific verde enchiladas and cheese enchiladas. Their chili con carne sauce was dark, meaty - just like my wife likes it (note to come back and re-edit that part before posting this...).

When passing through Ballinger, we would definitely stop here again (....because where else are we going to stop anyway.).

On the way home to San Antonio (from a Denver mission trip) after an overnight in Amarillo, we stopped in here with a group of near twenty, mostly kids. On 10 minutes notice (lunchtime today, a Saturday) they had a table and two booths set up.  Fast, friendly service with chips and water.  Free refills on sodas.  Big, big menu. Fast, fast food service.

Food was good, pretty much standard Tex-Mex. No surprises but no disappointments. Very tasty.

Neat location, tastefully western decor. Will be a standard stop on the way to and from Colorado.

Great breakfast - I has the Migas Mexically.  I've been here for dinner a few times, it was great as well.  One of the best Mexican food rest. I've been too.  Try the Barbacoa Tacos in the morning.
