Alias Night Club

My partner and I ventured out to Alias on Saturday night during Dogwood Festival weekend with few expectations other than having a few cocktails and playing some pool.  Given the 'holiday weekend' - we thought more folks would come out to enjoy the Club.  This was not the case.  We arrived at about Midnight to a semi-emtpy parking lot.  Although my partner maintains an active membership at the Club, the cover was still $20 for us to walk through the door...quite high in our opinion.  We were greeted by two heterosexual couples making out in the corner by the pool tables.  We thought that we would 'drown a bit of our sorrows' - only to find weak cocktails and expensive beer.  When we arrived - the music was pretty upbeat - however, after 3 games of pool an hour or so later - things had changes 180 degrees.  The music was like rap mixed with pots and pans.  One would think that - if people are dancing - the DJ is doing something right; if people are NOT dancing...  

Save your money...

This is the place to be on Sat nights for individuals that support the LGBT community. I personally have not seen the drag shows that happen on Fri nights but have heard that they are good. The crowd doesn't start showing up until 1130P-12A but you have to get there early to get a parking spot.
