Alteri's Restaurant

I love going to Alteri's whenever I am in Clinton visiting my parents. I think they have the best marinara sauce I have ever had and only wish they would bottle and sell it. I usually order the gnocchi, but have also had their homemade pasta which is fantastic. The service is always great and the portions are just the right size.

The reuben sandwich was as good as described by other reviewers. The sandwich came with thick ripple chips and a small sour pickle. Very filling sandwich with plenty of corned beef. The only thing is that it got soggy because of the thousand island dressing.

I also had the clam chowder which wasn't bad, Not too thick, not too thin although the clams were rather chewy.

And, true, this isn't an Italian restaurant per se. Sort of your standard family place with sandwiches, etc. The walls are covered with wood paneling so that should give you an idea as to what I'm talking about

The sandwich was under $10 but dinner is probably more expensive.

Came in from out of town on our way to the funeral parlor. I don't know why it is listed as pizza place, they have much more. It is a nice family neighbor restaurant. Great ambiance, clean and helpful staff. Also said not good for groups??? They were setting up for a retirement party. Granted you couldn't have a large group but for 20-25 I think it is fine. Now to the food, I had a turkey sandwich (on a great crispy roll) with Homemade cream of broccoli soup, my husband had a large order of wings, sister in law had homemade cream of broccoli soup with grilled cheese, and my brother in law had a deluxe hamburger. We ordered two pieces of cheese cake which the waitress said were small but we all had at least two fork full which was enough for everyone. Everything was great. I would definitely  come back if I was in the area.
