American Legion Post 228

There's a bar here.  It seems to mostly cater to locals/regulars.  By no means a touristy spot.

They can host a pretty large event here, which was what brought me.  I don't think I would ever have a reason to come here otherwise - except for maybe bingo night.  (btw, that was both serious and sarcastic - I'd never go for a bingo night, but it's probably the most exciting reason to go here if you aren't involved with the Legion).

Anyway, back to the event - despite being somewhat run down, the large event room was creatively dressed up to make it seem much much nicer than it otherwise would appear.  Strings of lights and cloth were draped across the ceiling, and colored lights were installed in the wall sconces, and fabrics were hung up to hide more unsightly, run-down areas of the event room.  It probably took a *lot* of work, but they really made a difference to improve this somewhat less-than-mediocre place.  If you plan on hosting an event here, make sure to hire a good decorator!

All that being said, there's not many other options when you are in Waseca.
