They sold me a handful of lettuce, a halved cherry tomato and 1/20 of a cucumber as a" full" salad for $9. Hilarious. The only reason for the extra star is the dressing was good and the 4 croutons were good.
BTW, not a full bar, fake drinks, and NO tv. I went on a big game night just to end up staring at their wall.
Seating and layout stinks. Oh, and the lights for the live band are BEHIND the stage, so I guess we're the entertainment for the band
Went to enjoy a meal, with an old friend and had bragged about the food. Â The food was great, as usual, but the service was not so good. No special was announced to us. Drinks were so,slow in coming I had to go to the bar and ask for them myself. Our server did not know the menu and told me they didn't have the tomato soup, when they did. We were never offered a refill on water or drinks, or offered dessert. Our server was definitely not interested in us and our experience. I will go back for,the food, but I hope I do t get that server again. Previous experience had always been good, so,this was disappointing.
Review Source:This is must stop if you are traveling down Hwy 101. Â It is right off the Ferndale exit. Â Bill, the owner is cordial and accommodating. Â They have craft beers and delicious steaks (Mike was doing the grilling). I stopped on a Friday and they had good live music. Â Bathrooms are spotless (one way I like to rate restaurants).
Review Source:Went during opening week. Â Dinner two hours' late even though we had shown up at 5:30 p.m. to avoid the dinner rush AND there were only 3 other tables going at the time. Â Food cold. Â Rib eye so not worth the price in terms of taste or quality. Â Complained and given free dessert, but cold pudding in a store bought frozen pie crust did not make up for a ruined evening.
Went again a couple of weeks ago (not my dime so I thought I'd give it another chance.) Â Ordered something different that was ok, but just that. Â Service just slightly better, but not much. Â At least food wasn't cold, Â but a lot of items on the menu they didn't have and it took a while to order since there was a lot of "I think we still have that but let me make sure we haven't run out." Â While we were there, some friends were having a group event, and I can tell you what was being served in the buffet line didn't look appealing at all.
Really wishing for another good restaurant near Ferndale, but this isn't it.
Dont waste your time and money. Humboldt has a few really special nice restaurants to dine at and this is not one of them.
The decor is really bad especially since they seem to think they are a fine dining restaurant.
If I am eating at a "fine dining restaurant" I dont want to be sitting in prison cafeteria tables and chairs with filthy menus.
I have visited the restaurant a few times and have tasted more then enough of their dishes to determine the food is incredible inconsistent, mediocre as well as over priced.
One HOUR and fifteen minutes after ordering...our food finally arrived. Â Most of it hot, but the steaks were warm at best. Â That is absolutely unacceptable. Â The waitress hid from us after the 45 minute mark and offered a mild apology but took no other steps to remedy the situation. Â We arrived on time for our reservation so there is absolutely no excuse that can be made for not being able to serve us in a timely fashion. Â
Multiple items on the menu were not available. Â Not because they had run out...but for one reason or another. Â Here's a protip: Â Print new menus.... Â No calamari, no sandwiches, no eggplant we were told. Â
Filets are not butterfly shaped. Â I don't know what it was that my father got but it was not a filet. Â After waiting for that ridiculous amount of time for our food...we didn't even think about trying to have that corrected.
The chicken masala was a disappointment. Â Barely picked out a few pieces of chicken and did not eat most of the meal. Â The waitress didn't even bother to box our items up for us. Â Can't imagine what else she was doing with all of the time she spent not serving food.
The house salad dressing is quite tasty. Â They get a part of a star for that. Â It is extremely heavy on the red wine vinegar so beware if that isn't your thing. Â
The prices were quite low. Â $16ish for a 6 ounce filet? Â Another partial star for that.
I don't know why I expected much. Â This is in the middle of nowhere and it's an "italian and BBQ" restaurant which is absurd and probably is what causes their kitchen to be completely unable to handle the dozen or so tables they have in the place. Â Â I'm from a big city so of course I've experienced much better, and they can enjoy their 2 star rating from me for their tasty mac n cheese and salad dressing.
PS - Not having stalls in your bathroom is just about as unacceptable as the 1.25hr wait for the food. Â If you're not ready to be open yet...then don't open your doors until you are.
I was heading for Ferndale for dinner with a friend and we drove past this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside we were really impressed by the waitstaff and the atmosphere.
I got the "Clams" which was about 20 local fresh clams tossed in a white wine lemon sauce over linguini and my friend got the vegetarian ravioli. Both main dishes were amazing! They came with a tri-tip chili and a tomato bisque that were amazing to the last drop.
The bread appetizer came with a very tasty butter spread. I can't wait to go back and try more of their food!
I cannot wait to go back and try their BBQ.
The Angelina Inn finally reopened several weeks ago in Fernbridge, Ca. Â I had heard several reports of very slow service but our experience was wonderful and the food was delicious. I am excited for our community to have this venue once again open. Good food and a chance to go dancing without cigarette smoke.
We had excellent and fast luncheon service and i would highly reccomend The Angelina to anyone in town or visiting.
Went in with a friend for a burger and beer.Turned  out to be very good. Also the side Mac n Cheese that came with it was to die for.
They also have a nice Draft Beer selection. Many local and fine brews.
The service was good and the staff was polite and efficient.
Then the strangest thing happened. This guy came up to the bar, some old hippy with a ponytail,I think it was one of the owners and it looked like my buddy knew him.My friend mentioned something about the wellness center, marijuana dispensary next door also named Angelina and the guy said real sternly to my friend, there's nothing next door. After he left my friend says see those guys chatting it up with everyone, they're the guys that work at Angelina wellness in the back of the building.
Except for the strange encounter I'd come back again.I think its a real plus to have Ganja and Food in close proximity of each other.
This place is a great small town night club. Â I've only been there during the fair season, but they had live music every night I've went there. Â Typically country bands, but it ain't your grand daddy's country, its the stuff you can dance to.
The dance floor is pretty small, and I think that they're open for dinner before the priority shifts to dancing, so there's plenty of seating. Â
At least during the fair season, they also have free limo service to/from their location. Â Not sure if this is year-round or not, but it's really a great convenience for out of towners making the trip back and forth between Ferndale or even the main part of Fortuna.
Everyone one is very friendly and is just there to have a great time, which is sometimes a godsend depending on what your usual nightlife haunt may be.
