My work buddies and I were out visiting a Target Store near Sarasota and we needed some lunch. We walked into Applebee's thinking it was a Chili's but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. (There was a Chili's next door)
Our hostess was super nice and the manager checked on us at least three times.
I ordered the lunch special of the fiesta salad and the turkey sandwich.
Both were solid and our waiter was cool and refilled my soda as soon as it was empty. No one had any real complaints about it.
The hunks of turkey were awesome and the bread was great, the salad was large and I was pretty full after I was done. Dressing on the side was beautiful too!
Overall, it was speedy service for a reasonable price and the food wasn't bad. Good for a cool work lunch!
I'm a bit disappointed with this Applebee's. The staff was very unprofessional. I saw one waiter take some food from a plate and pop it in his mouth, as he was walking away from clearing a table.
The service was also very slow. The waitress I had was managing 6 tables. It took 20 minutes just to get my drink - frozen mango lemonade. We decided to order appetizers, thinking it would be faster. It wasn't. It took 25 minutes to get our two appetizers.
Overall, I was disappointed and I honestly don't think I'd be willing to try this location again.
Went here one night after going to Outback and Chili's (the waits there were about an hour). So my boyfriend and I decided we would try Applebees, even though its definitely not one of our favorites. When I walked in there were a bunch of people standing around near the front. I assume they were waiting for tables, for one they need more seating for people who cant get a table right away. Anyway as I walked through the crowd, I finally reached the hostess, who was wearing grey sweatpants and a white tee shirt. I thought hostesses had a dresscode? Guess thats not one of their priorities. The Hostess began with "is it just you?" I said "no 2 people please." She then asked if I wanted a booth or table top, I said booth please. She rolled her eyes and said "if thats what you want." I handed the buzzer back to her and said never mind, we'll go to Chili's. Went to Chili's and had awesome service and they accommodated our needs, without the attitude. I even tipped the hostess at Chili's for being nice. Applebees you need dress code for your hostesses, and control their attitudes.
