Aqua Club

Sailboats on the wall with laser beams!!! The juxtaposition was freaking awesome; a first in my lengthy and experienced clubbing career. 5 stars to this place for being bizarrely unique, highly amusing...it is what I like to call an uberCheezclub, but one that is sooo random, awkward, and poorly done, that it's completely worth going to.

The people are an eclectic mix of long islandness: the fabulous, the young, the old, the over the top, the underwhelming, straight, gay.... all either boogie-ing down or attempting to pick someone up, or both. I loved joining in with reckless abandon as people of all generations were gettin' down to the extremely played out tracks, and usually the house remixed versions, AnD also censored (lolzers!), AND they were pre-mixed.  

The decorating is a la the drunken-after-party-of-a-wedding. Carpeted ballroom with wood dance floor, turn off the lights and fire up some colored overheads. I was completely charmed by those sailboats on the wall sailing through the sea of green lasers. A smoke machine would have completed it. but  the dance floor was a cloud of the most expensive of perfumes, so there is that.

A must go experience. (Don't go for more than 2 hours though or the unique charm of this weird "club" will wear off an you might have an identity crisis)
