Arby's is always a must-stop place for me on the long drive along I-5 between the bay area and LA. Love of my life curly fries, how I miss you so! They have TV's that are usually playing some sort of sports-related thing, and it's connected to Love's, which is where the restrooms are.

tl;dr: It's clean, service is quick, and it's yummy. And they have curly fries. Zomg, those curly fries. Even when I say I'm not going to get them, I still somehow end up caving in.

Who cares about being lost in Lost Hills as long as there's an Arby's?

I stop here when I'm traveling; I love Arby's and there isn't one near where I live so this is my first choice. The food's always good, the employees are friendly, and the truck stop is a good place to stop to rest and use the facilities.

Cheapest gas halfway to LA, plus plenty of fast food options, too, in this shared gas / food / convenience store!

This is a review for all the gas and fast food places in the lost hills

The lost hills is the place to stop after a good 3-4 hours of driving from the bay area to LA. They have a wide selection of cheap fast food places and cheap gas stations to refill your gas tank and suppress your hunger. The restrooms are also well kept.

Specifically the arbys has an extensive $1 value menu (although kinda small sandwiches) and the cashier was nice enough to offer free of charge hot water. Micky Ds, Carl's Jr, Wendy's also make an appearance here.

Great location as the first of 2 stops to and back from Las Vegas, or the halfway point to LA, and located at a gas station that's usually one of the cheapest at this exit. I had a pretty good experience on 2 out of 3 visits, using the 5 for $5.95 deal btw, but the one time that I tried the potato cakes, I got those bland hash brown wannabes that were actually cold in the middle. Not cool, man.

I know I stand alone on this, but eff curly fries. All I want is some goddamn regular fries, but they do not exist at this Arbys. It's definitely going to be Wendy's on the way home.

I love stopping here on the way to L.A. or back. Firstly Lost Hills is the best place to stop because it definitely has the cheapest gas (from the bay to LA) without having to wander off the highway very far. As a side note, Love's (which is right by Arbys is the cheapest - further gas station on the right if you exit southbound).

The restaurant is very clean, well-staffed and provides great quality Arbys. Burgers are great and among the best Arbys I have had. The convenient store next door (which is connected inside) has a perfectly good bathroom that'll beat any rest area on the road as well.

They have two HDTVs inside too if that suits you as well. Perfect recommendation if you're making the trip down or up i5.

screw In N Out/Kettleman City, lost hills is the spot!!! especially for drivers to San Diego - it cuts the drive into 3 hours prior to stop, 4 hours after stop (thanks, LA traffic.) ~ I stop here EVERY time because of Arby's. I was under the impression that there are no other Arby's in California, but was recently proven wrong. BUT still, it is a rare gem on the west coast.

i love the beef n cheddar. I keep telling myself "ok next time, I'll try something else" but i just can't resist it when i see the photo... beef n cheddar (add some of that Arbys special sauce!) and curly fries... delicious.

they're always cleaning the place, so it's sparkly... wish i could say the same about the bathroom in the attached convenience store, but eh on the bright side... at least it has toilet paper...?

Love's for gas, Arby's for lunch. Perfect combo at Lost Hills/Hwy 46. It's just hot as hell.

Stopped by the Lost Hills area as our last stop before shootin' down to LA.  Typically, you can find the gas prices here to be cheaper than all other stops along Hwy 5 between the Bay Area and LA.

On a side note, Chevron's price for 91 Octane was $3.33 while Shell's, RIGHT ACROSS THE DAMN STREET, was $3.19 for the same.  Wtf... ok, whatever, I digress.

I'd intended on dropping into Carl's Jr. until I saw Arby's.  *Queue the angels humming in unison*  ARBY'S!!!  I slammed on my brakes and swung a HARD right into the parking lot.  It'd been years since my last Arby's run, and I was JUICED.  I couldn't decide on anything on their menu until I saw... pause.... their 5 for $5.95!

Ohhh man.. here's how it played out:
2 Beef Melts - Why only one of the two sandwiches had cheese, I'm not sure, but the one WITH cheese was amazing.  Layer some horsey sauce on it, and you have a goldmine!  The one WITHOUT cheese, however, was dry and nasty.  blegh!
1 Ham Melts - nothing too spectacular here.  The ham was pretty good, cheese definitely added some flavor to it, but horsey sauce saved it
2 Loaded Potatoes - Ohhh man... talk about a heart-attack in a beautiful little triangle.  It's LOADED with cheese and... bacon?  I could've sworn I tasted a hint of bacon in there.  I hope so, because bacon makes me happy!  They also accompany the order with a THICK ranch dressing.  Ohhhh man...!

The lady who took the order was patient while I perused through the menu.  When I was ready, she seemed happy to be of service.  Now that's the spirit!

4 Stars for this being my last (pleasant) stop before arriving to LA.  Not the BEST Arby's tasting experience, but it was definitely quite good.

This place is totally consistent. Ya can get an Arby's sandwich even for breakfast. I always stop here and get the Beef and Cheddar. It is my usual stop before heading to LA if I take the 5 sooo I usually go in to order. I can check the bag add the horsey radish etc...

Now that I am on my 2010 kick of eating healthy.... I may have to switch it up, next trip but I have to agree with Kevin h. There's nothing like Arby's on the road!

I was coming back on I-5 after a recent trip down to So Cal and decided to stop for Arby's. Apparently this is the only one along I-5 in the central valley. It's located right next to Love's and is part of the same building.

I went in and quickly decided on the Bacon Cheddar combo. Sounds good right? I certainly thought so. Once I got my meal and settled in to eat I dove right into the sandwich. And was disappointed. The bacon didn't have much flavor and the Arby's roast beef was lacking as well. I've been a long time fan of Arby's ever since I took my first bite and I usually go with the very tasty Chicken Cordon Bleu which has never failed to disappoint me at numerous Arby's locations. The flavorless Bacon Cheddar which I got was a shock. Deep down I'm hoping this was just a fluke and something that won't happen again, but we'll see.

The curly fries were just average, nothing special to rave about. Fries just have to be really good for me to even take special note of them. I'm not saying I was disappointed with the fries, its just that I didn't think they were outstanding.

I will gladly try Arby's again, one bad experience won't ruin it for me, but I might have to go with a different sandwich next time.

Aww, the Kettleman City In-n-Out has 44 reviews while Lost Hills Arby's has only 6 (now 7). No love for Arby's from road-tripping Yelpers?

Well, if you're en route from SF to LA and would rather make your lunch pit stop other than the same place everyone else does, skip Kettleman and hold out a little while longer. This location is just fine, not sketchy at all. Arby's roast beef, which most of us only experience on roadtrips from SF to LA, isn't bad and is probably healthier than that In-n-Out "double double".

After hours upon hours of road tripping, Arbys was a lovely mood pick up from the flat never ending stretches of I-5.

Truck fuel and people food fuel = win.

My mom and I ventured inside to brave what I assumed to be a pretty questionable franchise location. To my surprise, this was the cleanest damn Arbys I have ever set foot in before. The floors were so clean you could eat off them. The tables were so shiny you could see yourselves in them. The staff was really fast and friendly unlike some of the drivers along the freeway.

Arby melts and curly fries set my family and I into a nice saturated fat food coma on the way up the 5 again.

I believe this is the only Arby's on the I-5 between the bay and LA.

Therefore, this is where I stop every single time I drive.

So my wife is starving, but she's a sucker for Arby's, and I had noticed there was one at Hwy. 46 a few days earlier when we were heading north.  So we skip Santa Nella, skip Kettleman City, and arrive at Lost Hills only to find the Arby's/Love's Megacomplex has a big fat B health rating.  EWWW!

But we brave it anyway, cuz she's a sucker for Arby's remember.  I had a roast beef sandwich which was the same as any other Arby's I've been to.  She had a Market Fresh sandwich that was anything but market fresh.  In our curly fries receptacle we found two curlicues and 500,000 little c things.  Meh, I've experienced better.

I can't remember the last time i've even seen an arby's, let alone been in one.  But on a stormy drive to LA we had to stop and gas up, take a bathroom break, and have a snack to keep us awake.  I leave the fiance to get some fries.  I meet her as she's waiting for them, and the server has like 6 inches of napkins and is like "is this enough?"  we think hes being funny, and he is, but he starts putting them in the bag.  She's like "maybe not that much and we get half of them.  Then comes the sauce and we get like a gallon's worth in little packets.  Good thing my baby likes sauce.  Too funny though.  I may just have to stop here again just because of that.  Plus the curly fries were good and there were no tiny crappy pieces, only the good big ones.

    *ring ring ring*
    Me:  Hello?
    Patrick L:  Hey...
Me:  Hey man!  Are you back from SoCal yet?
PL:  Yeah, got back last night.
Me:  Happy New Year, man!  How was the drive?
PL:  It was cool.  Long.  Got stuck in LA of course.
Me:  Dude, I really wish there was some kind of sky freeway or something so people who wanted to could just skip through LA.  DUDE.  Best.  Idea.  EVER!
PL:  Best.  Idea.  EVER!  I love it!
Me:  How long did the drive take?
PL:  Normal time, but we stopped at an Arby's on the way back.
Me:  Oh, yeah, the Arby's off the Lost Hills/Wasco exit off the 5, I think it's the 46 Freeway, just behind the Chevron Station and connected to the Love's Convenience Store.  That Arby's actually has an everyday $0.99 Arby's Melt special.  The Arby's Melt is kind of like the Beef n Cheddar, except it's on a sesame seed bun, doesn't have as much delicious roast beef, and no Arby's sauce.  I like that Arby's location, it's conveniently right off the freeway, right after the Grapevine, and has a clean bathroom which is actually also the Love's bathroom, since they share a space.
PL:  You really DO know every Arby's in California, don't you?
    Me:  Yes.  Yes I do.

NOTE:  I NEVER ASK FOR VOTES, BUT PLEASE VOTE THIS REVIEW AS USEFUL FUNNY AND COOL, BECAUSE I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT TO BE REVIEW OF THE DAY IN LOST HILLS, CALIFORNIA.  THAT IS ALL.
