Went here Friday  morning with a group of Fitness Training students since I teach PE over at PBL High School. We walked over and arrived at about 830 AM. There was the typical old retirement group, doing retirement things at this early hour, and enjoying a nice pancake breakfast.
I decided to buy for my students (all three of them and only two of them ate). This is a typical diner type restaurant. Nothing special. Omelets, buttermilk pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, hash browns. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are huge on serving pie. Good coffee and eggs. You're really stretched on options for breakfast here in Paxton (It's Hardee's, Country Garden's, Casey's Diabetic Donuts, Jumpin' Jax, or the Arcade).
I am more of a fan of cooking at home or heading to the CU area for breakfast. Nothing like the suburban density of options north of I 80.
I visit the Arcade on a regular basis. I often try something new from the specials board. Their soups are always very flavorful and hearty. My favorites are taco soup and stuffed pepper.
The ambience is casual. This is a no nonsense diner where you can get great food served quickly and at a very good price. There is no better place to get a good meal here in Paxton. They also serve freshly ground coffee.
By trying something new from the specials board, I have come to love the Arcade's polish reuben.
