Holy cow, you wouldn't think it's hard to find a good burger with great ingredients served quickly, but it really is. But happily my looong search is over, this is a wonderful burger joint! Perfect size, excellent meat, perfect toppings, friendly service, and last but not least, FAIR PRICES. Thank you Archie's!! It's worth the drive from downtown, bye bye Fifteen dollar Farmhouse burger!
Review Source:Archies has fresh, local beef at a reasonable price! Not like $14 burgers downtown.
The owner was great, the burgers fantastic! Onion rings, home made cole slaw, and chips all great! Highly recommend Archies for the good, fast, old fashioned grill experience. Don't mind the haters who went here for a salad. It's not a salad joint!
Great food, very friendly staff, the "host", who I am assuming is the owner looks you right in the eye, uses your name and checks in regularly. Â The family behind us spilled a drink and he was over in seconds helping them clean up and even offered a few tips on drying out their iPhone.
The food is better than expected. Â I had a horseradish burger and my son had chicken tenders. Â They were made from white breast meat and did not have a lot of breading. Â My burger was really, really good. Â The homemade chips are fantastic.
This is a great burger-plus-other-options stand. We had some burgers and a chicken breast. The blue cheese burger was fantastic as was the mushroom burger. The fries were tasty too. Â The chicken breast was juicy and had good flavor.
Also, the kids working here are really friendly and energetic. We sat at the sole picnic table in the grass with our dog. When my order was ready, one of the line cooks helped me carry our order to the grassy knoll.
This is one of the better roadside stand food experiences I've had. We'll be back for sure.
So this is a continuation of my last review. I don't understand why I can't find a good, decently-priced caesar salad in the Burlington area. I spent almost $10 on a salad that was, like the last one, the size of a side salad. I walk  out to my car, look in the bag, and find it's a tiny takeout container halfway full of lettuce. There was no chicken. I walked back inside to get the chicken (I should have brought the whole thing back) and the cook told me he swore he put the chicken in the bag and asked me to go get the bag in my car and prove there was nothing in the bag. He then glanced over and saw the wrapped chicken sitting there. Honestly now. You don't make a customer turn around and go the their car and back to prove you made a mistake. Unbelievable. It's a good thing I'm made of money and wasn't hungry when I ordered this (sarcasm). Needless to say I will not eat here ever again. With that being said, I'm now on a mission to find a decent caesar salad in BTV.
Review Source:I really want to like this place. We live nearby and wish for a good, fresh, local burger. The local beef us good. The salmon sandwich is good. But the place misses the mark in some key ways. The onion rings were good, but at $3.99, there were so few, they worked out to be about 75 cents each. The "lettuce" with our burgers was limp and slimy. And the chocolate creamy was inedibly gritty, with almost a plastic taste. What a disappointment. This was the second, and maybe last visit.
Review Source:The thing about Archie's that I really like is that they don't try to be something they're not. They offer good, fresh, locally sourced food that is served quickly.
The menu is not really extensive, but for this type of place, I wouldn't want it to be all that long anyway. They rotate in a few specials every day, which is a good thing. It's an even better thing when they serve their Ranchero burger - topped with salsa and pepperjack cheese with a fried egg over top. Just delicious. They do have one or two vegetarian options as well.
You get the option for fries, "Archie's Chips" or a salad with your meal. I've had each and prefer the salad. Their fries are good, the chips are really a matter of who cooks them, I think. It isn't easy to make potato chips by the order unless you've been at it for a while. It does taste like they change their fryer oil very often - always good.
Since this is an alternative to the fast food chains, expect kids and expect volume. You can sit outside if the weather is nice.
