We stopped here in September 2013 during a road trip!  Want a delight.  Brought back memories of our teenage years.  The food was really different (a bit fattening, but what the heck it was vacation!).  Very creative on the names for their sandwiches and  they took ordinary sandwiches and made them their own unique way.  Loved it!!!  We would definitely go back again!

I fly in to Decatur, IN all the time just to fly in for their milkshakes and different sodas. Love the decor. You can write on the walls which is pretty fun.

    I'll be back...

This is a fun place to go. The atmosphere and decor is cool. It's nice to go somewhere different and not some chain restaurant found in every other city. The food is good too.

I enjoyed Arnold's.   The owner, Lori, is friendly and enjoys doing what she does.   She started this restaurant as a tribute to her mother, and like other posters said, you step back 60 years when you walk through the door.   I like the atmosphere of the place.   It's a fun place to eat.   The only downside was that I had a long wait the last time I came, but then again, there were a lot of other customers, so that's not a bad thing.

I came to Arnold's DriveIn on July 22, 2011 with my wife,  Rosemary [Schlickman] Stevenson for her 50 years class reunion of Adams Central. We had a great time with all of her friends. It brought back my high schools memories of growing up in Southern California. Lori you have a great place and I will be sending you something special for your Drive In. Lash

Been here several times, and never been disappointed.  It's a real old drive-in, though updated and "retro-fied."  The decor is interesting, the service is good, and the food, while nothing special, is pretty good for this kind of place.  Sandwiches, fries, corn nuggets, etc.  Also root beer and real cherry/vanilla/whatever Cokes.

There's a question below for "has TV."  Yes, it does, but it shows old commercials and bits from shows.  Kinda neat.

I am originally from Decatur and we stop there EVERYTIME we go through!! The place is awesome! You can literally spend more time looking at all the decor than actually having your meal. The kids love it too!

Should you find yourself in Decatur and craving a classic lunch or dinner joint, pull up to Arnold's Drive-In.

If you decide to dine-in instead of drive-up, prepare yourself to get time-warped and perhaps just a bit overwhelmed. The joint is covered from ceiling to floor in more fifties paraphernalia than two dozen Johnny Rockets could shake a stick at. Album covers pasted on walls, Radio Flyers discarded in corners, life-sized cardboard cut-outs of James Dean and Elvis Presley. You will definitely not be bored while waiting for your food.

Feeling a bit crazy (the vinyl may have been affecting my judgment), I ordered a deep-fried cheeseburger. Lightly-breaded and fried, it was cheesy and tasty, just a bit crispy, without overwhelming me. Who knew? Others with me ordered other burgers and sandwiches, and all were pleased. Of course, despite our best efforts to resist, we all got dessert too. The chocolate malt (extra malt powder, please!) was sinfully delicious.

You may even find that you love Arnold's so much that it's worth driving out of the way for...
