Three degrees Fahrenheit outside and Aunt B's Kitchen across the street...we walked in and the word chile barely left my lips and it was met with "yes we have homemade chile right now.
Indeed it was homemade and delicious! Spicy but not overly done, just enough to heat up the insides as intended. Yum's the word.
Clean, friendly and very reasonably priced. Eat Here!
This place deserves more than the 2 reviews it currently has. We came into town to antique shop. I'm glad we chose those restaurant for lunch. The ambiance is cozy and fitting for a small town. The iced tea was brewed perfect. We ate the crunchy cod sandwich, and the philly cheesesteak sandwiches. They were great. I recommend the fried onion rings on the side. Yum!
Review Source:Wow, one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. I had french toast and bacon, served with an almond butter on top. My girlfriend had The Cardinal, 2 eggs toast, hash browns and bacon. The eggs were perfectly done, the hashbrowns were impeccably seasoned, and the wheat toast was made in house. Also for both dishes, the bacon was perfectly cooked! Â I will gladly pull off of I80 and dine here again.
Review Source:My mother and I were in Walnut, IA antique shopping and decided to stop in here for lunch. It's conveniently located among all the stores in their "downtown" area.
We split a crispy chicken sandwich with fries for $6.25. The meal was very good and was served warm.
Aunt B's Kitchen is very ordinary food-wise, and you will not see anything too exciting on the menu. But I believe Aunt B served us herself, and she was very friendly. It's a cute little restaurant with a bunch of knick-knacks throughout with a menu full of decent American fare.
I hate to give only 3 stars, but nothing stood out during my experience here.
Tip: Breakfast is not served all day, but the menu states that if it's a slow day Aunt B may consider whipping up your desired breakfast item.
