    Now under new management.

Nothing has changed inside, still a plethora of neat things to look at.  The staff is the same.  The menu is largely the same, although they did add french fries as a side for the sandwiches.  The hours remain the same as I detailed in my first review.

The lady sitting next to me at the bar ordered wings and they smelled good.  My Latitudes sandwich was tasty. Bathroom was clean. Patrons were friendly.

Had a pleasant time eating and having a beer, except for the back-breaking bar benches.  They consist of huge sections of tree trunks, at least two feet in diameter, topped by a slab of wood with scant padding and no back.  Due to the weight of the things, they can't be easily moved, which makes for creaky buttocks after a spell.

This place has more imagination in their little finger than most high dollar places.  Although it is not on the water you will feel like it is.  Good beer- food (sandwiches and snacks, some cooked), friendly, very affordable.  Will return often.  Worth a drive from other locations.

I walked into this place and felt as though I had just walked into someone's living room.  This wasn't a bad thing -- I dig down-home spots -- it was just unexpected and kind of shocking.  All the folks sitting around the main bar seemed quite obviously to know one another very well.  When my buddy and I walked in, their conversation stopped abruptly and as a group they gazed at us curiously until one offered a friendly "Hello!"  We returned the pleasant salutation and would have enjoyed parking our behinds in their midst but unfortunately there weren't any seats at the main bar where they were seated.

Instead we sat at a smaller side bar and perused the menu.  We ordered 20 wings -- 10 with traditional spicy sauce, and 10 with spicy garlic sauce.  I'm a pretty big stickler when it comes to fried food in general, and chicken wings in particular.  For me, the thing about wings is this:  I don't really care what kind of sauce you throw on them.  Everybody makes a big deal about how good the sauce is at their hometown wing spot, and how you can't find a better sauce anywhere, blah blah blah.  I've had tons of different wing sauces, everything from simple homemade sauces, to pretty much every sauce at Buffalo Wild Wings, to various hometown favorites across the country...  for me, they typically range from good to really good.  The sauce can't make or break a wing.

Much more important is the quality of the fry job on the wing itself before it's slathered in sauce.  The criteria for success is simple.  I want crispy skin without overcooked meat.  The meat on these things was juicy and not the slightest overcooked, but eating the skin was like chewing on slippery rubber.

Service was very friendly though not terribly fast.  I liked the feel of this place and they had a thoughtfully limited menu, which I always appreciate as I believe it shows insight.  If they could just get the wings down I think they'd be killing it.
