I agree somewhat with Jonathan C. I too, have had better & worse.
I arrived abt noon on Sunday so my food selection was great and all was hot. Meat entrees included catfish, catfish filets (fantastic), smothered steak, meatloaf (great), fried chicken, grilled/roasted chicken, Spaghetti & meatballs, and tons of salads and vegetables & deserts.
The price was reasonable (buffet, tax & tip came to $11) & the food was good home cooking style. This is buffet only, no menu. The dining room is a large space with lots of sharable tables with benches & a mix of chairs & checkered table cloths. The meal is all "serve yourself" but there is a waitress who will get your beverage order & check on you from time to time.
This restaurant is in the "middle of nowhere" so they are only open 3 days a week, Fri night, Sat night & Sunday lunch. Very much "down home" and "country" in style. Everyone in the place was friendly and the atmospher was "neighborly" with everyone visiting each other & having a good time.
Whatever you think, keep in mind that it is much better than the options offered in Forest, MS which is a much larger city 8 miles from here. (MUCH better than "Penn's Seafood" - read my review of that place).
Another larger And busy establishment seemingly in the middle of nowhere.
We arrived close to closing, and paid the price. The buffet line was not being refreshed - when things ran out, we were outta luck. So can't critique full range of options.
Fried catfish was tasty - they had while fish and filet nuggets. Looked like it started as wide range of country-style sides. (I liked the loaded mashed potatoes).
Wasn't best, not the worst. But here it was and it was fine.
