I tried Bamboo Terrace a few years ago and I was fully satisfied with their meals. I own a local Yakima plumbing company called 24 Hour Rooter. Today Bamboo Terrace called me because they had a drain that was clogged. I have to tell you that I have been in the kitchen area of several local restaurants and BT was by far one of the cleanest I have seen! I should add that their staff are very friendly too! I would highly recommend you try them out if you are in their neighborhood.
Review Source:The first thing you notice when you walk in Bamboo Terrace is the decor. It's kind of strange with the green walls and red booths. It has more of a diner feeling than a chinese restaurant. Also, the plates the food came on were the kind that are split into three sections. I thought that was odd for a sit down restaurant. When I see plates that are split into sections like that it reminds me of the paper plates you get when you go to a food stand or picnic.
The waitresses were friendly and provided great service. However, I was not happy with my food. First off, the menu of Chinese food isn't that large. Secondly, their combinations offered are limited. At least you can make substitutions and the portion sizes are generous. I ordered the almond chicken combo but substituted extra pork fried rice instead of the spare ribs. The pork fried rice was good, nothing special, but adequate enough. My almond chicken I found bland. It didn't look like almond chicken I've had at better Chinese restaurants. It looked like the same chicken used for sweet n sour chicken, but with a brown sauce on it. I didn't notice a lot of almond taste or crumbles on it. I also found a small hair hidden beneath my pile of chicken.
My boyfriend enjoyed his food a lot more than I did. He raved about his chop suey.
Overall, I probably won't go there again. I feel there are better Chinese restaurants around Yakima.
