You have to give this place points for having a drive up bar. Like Sonic, you can park outside and the waitress will bring you food and, yes BEER while you sit in your car. Not sure why they do this, but you have to be 18 to go inside, so maybe it is like that so the kids can come here to eat.
It was summer in Texas, so I went inside to drink and dine. I ordered a red draw first. This is a draft beer that has a dollop of salsa added prior to pouring the beer. It turns out more pink than red and I prefer Micheladas to the red draw.
I was in the mood for BBQ, but my favorite BBQ place in WF, the Branding Iron is closed on weeknights (except Fri). I was glad that the Bar-L had BBQ on their menu. Other choices were lots of sandwiches (including burger and BBQ) and fried fish. I got the BBQ plate even though it was $9. It includes 3 meats and 2 sides. When my meal was delivered, it only had 2 meats. The waitress quickly brought the missing meat and so my plate was complete with a large slab of fatty brisket, one rib, and one 2 inch nugget of sausage. For $9! Â I would have expected more.
I asked for a second beer, but just asked for Bud Light since I didn't want another red draw. The waitress opened a bottle without asking if I wanted a bottle. Normally, I would understand the confusion since I did not specify draft, but since my first beer had been a draft, I thought it was implied that I would want that. I normally don't drink american pilsner/lager, but asked for that since that was all that was on tap.
Well I was fairly unimpressed by the whole experience and if I'm ever in WF again, will probably try another place.
