I'd give it 5 stars because as a bar it is a really great place. But as far as food service goes, it is the absolute worst. Waited 1 1/2 hours for a hamburger. Don't even think you're getting your appetizers before your dinner cause you're not. I was given some really lame excuse that they only had 1 cook (on a Saturday night?) they could have at least told me that before I ordered and I would have had a chance to go somewhere else.
Review Source:A tiki bar? In Elkhart Lake Wisconsin? Yes indeed my friends. With stupendous lake views and a lakeside location at the recently renovated Village Green Inn near town, the Barefoot Tiki Bar is the place to be seen in this small town of 1,100 (which swells to several thousand during the summer).
The bar has two levels, each of which overlook the lake. The upper level has no roof, although the bar area is covered. Â The lower level is totally covered, with one side open to the lake. Â The best spot is the upper deck, which has a wooden patio with a half dozen picnic tables. The bar is at one end and a covered pavilion at the other for the live bands that perform on weekends and some weekdays. Last time I was there they had an excellent band covering jam band and oldies tunes. An extra bonus: Tuesday nights starting at 6pm they have table tennis!
The service is OK. It takes awhile to get the bartender/server's attention, but once an order is in they are quick. The prices are somewhat high for rural Wisconsin (our round of 4 beers cost $15.50). Â Food is standard bar fair: burgers, sandwiches, french fries, cheese and crackers. I have yet to try the tiki drinks, but will be doing so later this week and will report back.
Overall, if you are looking for a relaxed bar with lake views and a crowd of summer visitors (locals have been scarce when I've been there), the Barefoot Tiki Bar is an excellent choice.
This is truly a unique place to have a drink or a meal. It is set on the shores of beautiful lake in small town Wisconsin. The barefoot Margarita is out of this world. The food is great to grab a quick bite, if you looking for something fancier your should try their casual fine dining restaurant The Back Porch Bistro
