  Once we received our food, it was actually quite good. I had the blackened catfish & chips, which was quite well done. One of my dining companions had the regular fish & chips that turned out to be a huge portion, and very well executed. Fries are such simple things, yet so many places do them poorly, but they were very good here. We didn't have any beer, I guess this being obsentiably a brewpub that a wa silly thing to do.
  
  The service was terribly slow, I didn't feel there were that many patrons here at the time, despite the parking lot being nearly full. However, the servers seemed to have huge areas to cover, which explained the speed of service. Maybe they were short staffed.
  
  One thing that stood out about the visit, was the over-tanned, over-cologned, slightly loud, and probably over-served, 60 year old man that was circulating around the various tables with women at them; who was also chatting up the female servers. His cologne reek impacted our table when he came within 10 feet of it. I'm not sure if he was some sort of owner, or just a regular, but the staff should have kept him away from the other tables, and probably cut him off earlier. It was a distraction, and an unwelcome one.

  My wife and I went to The Barley Mow, this was our second visit.  The atmosphere is good, and the food is good pub fare.  My wife had a jerk chicken wrap, and she said it was very good.  I had the Signature Burger, and it was very good.  The fries are excellent, almost at chip wagon quality.
  
  There are a couple of things that need to be fixed.  First, there is no drink menu.  There are many types of beer, but the server must always recite them.  This is not very efficient.  Also, it took forever to get drinks and food.  I kept wondering why it took so long for a burger and a wrap.  It took well over 30 minutes to get food.  The restaurant was busy, but not extra busy, and there appeared to be adequate staffing.  
  
  In general, I like this place, but am not ready to put it among my favourite restaurants in Brockville.  We will try it again, and hope to find that they have improved their service.
