This used to be an every Saturday night stop after work. Â But policies changed at work. Â Now, I try to get there whenever I can. Â
Prices are exceptional. Â It is the quality of food you expect from a bar, but items found on the menu that you wouldn't expect from a bar menu.
I always get the Mexican items.
Also, I try and stump the bartender, rarely can I stump them though.
Wings on special on Thursdays. They have really good wings and fries. It seemed like the food coming out of the kitchen was a step up from typical bar food. They have pool tables, and kareoke. During the early evening it seems family friendly, then more bar-like later on. I have not been there past 8pm, so I'm not sure what the late night scene is like. I usually go here for the wings.
Review Source:The place always seems packed with unemployed middle-aged alchoholics, barely out of high school bad asses, and socially awkward dart players who are hoping to find love. The last time I went, I left feeling a little depressed about the state of the world. I've had really bad bar service here, BUT they are generous with their liquor portions. The bar is also surprisingly spacious and offers at least a few tables of pool.
I would only recommend Barley's as a possible bar of choice for annoyed moms and dads on a Friday, looking to feel a bit naughty for being at a bar away from the kids but who aren't planning on being out past eleven.
Barley's is a hidden little gem. Â 3.5 Stars Overall.
1. Â The steaks here are solid, good cuts, usually cooked to specifications, and priced very nicely (4 stars).
2. Â The chicken wings (Thursday's special) and potato wedges (4 stars).
3. Â The service (4 stars).
4. Â Atmosphere (3 stars).
The food is definitely worth a stop. Â I have never been disappointed, especially at the current prices! Â Great bar for dinner. Â Caught me off guard as it was by accident we hit this place for the first time last year. Â We have been back multiple times since for steaks or wings.
Michigan is also non-smoking inside. Â So don't worry about the smoke here anymore.
This is a classic "bar" setting restaurant. Â They have big screen tv's, pool tables, and dart boards. Â What sets them apart from other bars is that they have a wide range of beers on tap and they have an excellent menu. Â They have everything from greasy bar food to healthy sandwiches. Â They even have a few veggie entree's. Â
We tend to get things with BBQ sauce when we eat here because it is one of the few places that serve a spicy sauce and not a sweet one.  The potato skins are very tasty and they even manage to make their  portobello fries nice and crispy when fancier restaurants tend to serve them soggy.
The only draw back this place has is that it is VERY smoky all the time. Â They do not seem to have a non smoking section. Â We'd eat here more often if it wasn't so smoky.
