I grew up in the High Desert, so coming out here is like a trip down memory lane. Definitely rough around the edges, but the folks who work here are super friendly and will always make you feel welcome. Be sure to take notice of their new monument out front that explains a bit about the local history.

The Barn is a stop we make twice a year - on the way to the Laughlin River Run, and on the way back for the after party - Barbecue, beer, and shots of JD. We have had the meatball sandwiches and cheese sticks..excellent..if you complain, you don't belong here. There is usually a dog laying in the door you have to step over and everyone is your friend. We love the fact that the bartender, and the regulars greet us, and remember us from the previous year. If you don't know they are there you will miss it. If you are on your way to Vegas, or on the way to the run you have to stop by.

This is not the place for weekend wanna be's, this is not the place for girly men, this a place to belly up to the bar, have a good drink, have good conversation, and a place to appreciate what you have.  If you are not genuine they will sniff you out and treat you appropriately.

I really wanted to take pictures of how cool this inside of this place was but I didn't want to offend the 2 surly bikers who call the bar home. I guess you just should have been there. Funny signs all over the wall, very Republican propaganda, rebel flags, and poster's featuring "hot chicks" posing on Harleys. The whole time I was wondering am, "I still in California or did I hit a wormhole that transported me to the rural south?"

Besides for all the scary stuff The Barn was great. Old biker broad behind the bar, who looked like she enjoyed one to many rallys but was cool as hell. She sold beer dirt cheap. $2 a bottle!!! Only domestic mind you and they even served food! If that's what you call hamburgers and hotdogs cooked on a mini grill. They had all the things a great bar needs. Dartboards, pool table, and TVs showing Nascar.

But, the greatest thing had to be their jukebox. I love all jukeboxes but theirs was the best I encountered by far. Only bar room songs... county and old school rock. The sound track of a brawl. With a couple of new favorites. The only Album that looked out of place was the Wilco CD. So before I left I put on "Heavy Metal Drummer" for everyone (4 people counting bartender) to enjoy.

The Barn is a true dive not like those wannabe in Hollywood that serve PBR for $5 bucks to hipsters dressed in flannel. No one is acting here and I love it! I wish I could be that real. It makes me long for the days when I get so sick of my job I finally move away and pretty much turn into Bud from Kill Bill.
