great place. Â had lunch one day and dinner the next. Â Pizza was good, but the crust was great. Â real pizza crust. Â great TV's, keno , great service , both on the floor (lunch) and Bar (dinner). Â brand new bathrooms and added dining space in the back. Â expansion that is needed because this is a popular place, with not many options in downtown East Tawas. Â we camped at state park and rode our bicycles to bar (about 4 miles). Â we are considering retiring to this great little town and this is our go to bar. Â haven't tried Jack's yet (the other bar in town). Â I don't see the need to. Â Love this little place.
Review Source:Kind of an old fashioned dive bar - the good kind, though. Â Group of six of us had dinner there. Â Great food special options and good choices for fish which you'd expect. Â I got the bacon cheeseburger with chili fries and so did the wife. Â Others got the fish and prime rib entrees. Â Food was good and you can tell that most of it is homemade. Â
Bathrooms were very clean - a surprise plus. Â Service was a okay - friendly but not super fast. Â
Would give a 3.5 if I could.
Ordered the dinner salad. Â It was iceberg lettuce with 2 spoiled slices of cucumber on it and some croutons. Â The ranch dressing on the side came in a plastic take out cup with the lid on and it was greasy and tasted spoiled as well. Â Ordered a club sandwich and the bacon was rubbery and poorly cooked. Â The whole sandwich was a mess that was drenched in mayo when I had asked for the mayo to be on the side as well. Â The waitress was barely civil, never asked if I wanted a refill or another beer. Â Service sucked ( left a 15% tip) and I always tip 20% and have been known to tip 50% when I get really good service. Â The food was not great, not even good. Â This was a one and done and will never return here. Â Yuk!!
Review Source:Besides the bar at the hotel I was staying at, this was the only bar I visited in Tawas. It was ok..I guess. It was average prices and average beer with average service. I went there for a bridal brunch on Sunday and I have never had to wait for service and food for so long. I understand there was a lot of us..but the bride called before to let them know we were coming. If they couldn't handle the large amount of people, they should have told her. Also I guess someone in the group dipped out on the bill, instead of taking responsibility for it..because they should have been paying better attention. They were a total dick to the bride and made her pay for it.
Review Source:This is your typical bar, there is pool and a shuffle board thing which I've never played before but looked fun. Â Great bar food, breakfast is good too, I had their $3.99 special. Â I have this condition called pregnancy so I haven't had a drink there yet, but I'm betting they can make a mean alcoholic beverage and am looking forward to testing it out!
Review Source:Barnacle Bill's is one of only a few local restaurants located on the main drag of Tawas. Â It has a variety of bar & grill fun things to offer such as pool, darts, and even a shuffleboard. Â There's plenty of TV's and a nice sized bar. Â
The food offerings are the traditional American staples -- burgers, pizza, etc. Â I had the buffalo burger which I got to top myself at the burger bar. Â The bar has onions, mild and hot peppers, pickles, tomatoes, ketchup and mustard. Â The burger was OK, not very big but right-sized in my opinion.
The appetizer we tried was a veggie hand-dip tray (read: deep fried) which was pretty good... cauliflower, onion rings, pickles, and mushrooms. Â The onion rings had a good batter on them, the onion and batter stuck together bite after bite w/o falling apart!
The best part I liked about the place was the free internet access!  The food hit the spot but I was really looking for a place to hook up and Yelp, among other things  :-)
