The only reason they get a 2 star is the building and its history. Â Our group of 25 was poorly taken care of with sloooooow service. We called ahead several days prior so this is not a drop in unannounced.
It took us 2.5 hours to get fed with one wait staffer and a helper filling water glasses. Â
My wife's fish and chips was fair and she said she should have known better to order this meal there. Â My chicken fried steak was average and the mashed potatoes Luke warm as was the green beans.
The food and service at Beaumont hotel is great. Â We stayed in the hotel a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it. Â The morning we were there we drank coffee in the balcony as a thunderstorm passed over the wind farm. There is a lot of historical photo's in the hallway of the hotel. Â Be sure to tour the upstairs. Â Also, I have flown into the grass airstrip several times. Â It is a lot of fun. Â The hotel is supposedly haunted but we were never spooked. Â Great place and great people.
Review Source:I love the Beaumont, even though it's a bit of a haul from my folks place in El Dorado. I'm not sure if you can still stay overnight or not as in a hotel, but I do know you can eat some really tasty home-cooked food in the restaurant. The service is always cheerful, too.
There's a private landing strip nearby: people fly their small planes in, taxi over to the restaurant, park alongside and pop in for a bite. Then they fire up and fly back out. It's pretty cool!
Beaumont Hotel is located in such a quiet area in the Flint Foothills. When you need to get away from all the rat race of the city then this would could be the ticket. The Hotel is historical, and so is the last wooden train water tower. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing. I haven't ever stayed overnight but would love too someday. The Inn keepers are so friendly and ready to please. The second Sunday of each month from March to Oct is a Motorcycle breakfast run. The food is to die for, you must try the biscuits and gravy with the breakfast buffet, the biscuits just melt in your mouth. There is a little airfield and the planes taxis down the street and park beside the inn. There are many places to visit that are close by that are also historical.
If you get a chance stop and check it out...
