Outstanding historical hotel. Extremely well maintained. We stayed in the main house, and the quality of the original construction and the maintenance efforts are obvious and intentional. Our room was extremely comfortable, well appointed and in the style of an upscale, old school plantation house.
The downstairs has beautiful sitting rooms, a wide planked and comfortable front porch and beautiful fixtures. The Owl's Nest restaurant on-site had very good food. Staff were extremely friendly, and the grounds are beautiful. I mean gorgeous!
The Beaumont Inn is located in the oldest town in Kentucky, Harrodsburg, which is pretty much the awesomest historical down town I've ever seen. Having just come from Franklin, TN, that's a major compliment. The surrounding neighborhood is filled with beautifully maintained historic homes.
I loved staying here--I felt like I was in a southern dream. Beaumont Inn gets the highest accolades I can give and ranks among my favorite places stayed to date. Â if you can, go here. You will absolutely enjoy yourself........
Highly recommend. Main Inn (where the restaurant is) is *so* well-maintained, especially considering its age, but even aside from that.
The place is steeped in history, and even if you're not a history buff (I'm not necessarily), you'll be impressed. Besides the history, it is *super* romantic. The grounds are maintained SO well and are in the neighborhood of beautiful 1800's homes. I LOVED the room (we stayed in Main Inn)--very comfy, extremely clean, beautiful chandelier and 4-poster bed, etc. The food (breakfast included) and service are also very impressive, and the price is great! Stay here for an authentic Kentucky experience.
Simply put, I am in love with this place. The room, food, hospitality, grounds and history are amazing. Gracious staff who know every twist and turn of their jobs made us feel so welcome every time we are fortunate enough to go here. The food is fantastic! True Ky fare that has held to standards. Fresh local foods, many grown on site, provide the backbone of epicurean excellence! Beautifully appointed building and rooms with the perfect mix of today and yesterday.
Review Source:The Beaumont Inn is well worth the drive. Â The setting is beautiful, the facility is charming and the staff are very warm. Â We had a large family group for a dinner and it was wonderful. Â We had a private room and were allowed to stay until we were ready to go well past the time the restaurant closed. Â The food was delicious and we appreciated the service and hospitality.
Review Source:Beaumont Inn is Old South dining at its finest! Â While the rest of their menu is excellent, THE item to get is The Classic Beaumont Dinner which includes their famous country ham and yellow legged fried chicken. Â One of the most beautiful restaurants I've been to, and is ALWAYS top notch in service and food. Â Its definitely worth the 1 hour drive to go to for dinner. Â One of my most favorite restaurants EVER! Â Highly recommended!!
Review Source:This is such a cute hotel. Â The rooms are extremely well kept, breakfast is included, and the grounds are pristine. Â There isn't a whole lot of action in the area, but if you are looking to get away and relax this is a great spot. Â The staff was very accommodating for my friends wedding party and guests. Â The price was also not bad for a higher end option. Â If I ever make it back down to this area of Kentucky I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My significant Otter had read about the Beaumont and wnated to give it a try on a recent trip to KY. We checked in Saturday afternoon and were warmly greeted and given a little tour. The Inn is comprised of three beautiful old buildings, formerly a women's college. The owners have collected many antiques from the college and area and placed on display throughout the main building in which we stayed.
The decor throughout the main building is lovel and it's all very clean. Our room was on the top floor near the ancient elevator. I thought this might get noisy but I didn't hear the elevator at all. The room and Inn reminded me of a mini Greenbrier but more accurately priced and overall better.
The grounds are lovely and include a walking trail and shuffle boards (which I thought was only played on the Lido deck of the Love Boat). There is a dining room which hosts breakfast - again, I missed out on this 'cause most places serve bkfst before I like to get up (the Otter enjoyed breakfast of biscuits & gravy, grits, made to order corn cakes and more) - and two restaurants on the property.
Check out was quick and easy, and we learned the Beaumont participates in a group of Inns that offer a discount if you stay at three. We may become Inn stayers.
A sprawling inn complete with rooms in several buildings, two bar/lounges and a restaurant. Â A great place for families to gather, because there are many spacious common areas in the main house where everyone can sit together.
Check in was friently and fast. Â The rooms, as in most inns, are different sizes, and ours was cozy and just fine (bronze), although the bathroom was so small, the door could not be completely opened, as it hit the toilet. Â But no problem -- the bed was comfy, there was certainly enough room in the room itself (the closet is tiny), and most importantly, the blinds and curtains make the room quite dark, which is perfect for sleeping. Â You can hear some noise from the hall and adjoining room, but not much. Â Was it overpriced for the room? Â Yes, but not exorbitantly so.
The restaurant is OK. Â Service was pretty good. Â The corn pudding is mostly pudding and not much corn. Â The fried chicken is yummy, as is the bread pudding. Â The bleu cheese dressing tastes like mayonnaise with bleu cheese crumbles stirred in, but the 1000 Island dressing was quite good. Â Prices for the dinner menu seem reasonable, but the Sunday buffet is wildly overpriced at $18.95. Â Sure, it's a nice spread, but at that price you probably would expect something a little more exceptional that what is standard brunch buffet fare.
Overall, it was a nice place to stay, although a little expensive. Â Nice grounds, too, with shuffleboard. Â There is really not much to do in Harrodsburg, but the nearby town of Danville is quite charming, and Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill is a nice day trip only a few miles away. Â There are distilleries in the surrounding area which can be toured.
The food here was just "OK". This is my hometown, and I flew in from Florida early morning on a recent visit specifically in order to catch the Friday lunch buffet. Â I'm not sure what I was expecting, but at the very least, I was expecting more variety. They had their signature yellow-leg fried chicken, but the other meat option they had was a chicken rice curry. I have no idea how that found it's way on to a Kentucky buffet. The whole time I was planning this trip I was dreaming of Kentucky Hot Browns, country ham, mashed potatoes and gravy. None of that was on offer. The only dessert option was a basic bread pudding. The service was mediocre as well. Â Why those servers are so stingy with the cornbread and rolls, I have no idea, since with the poor buffet offerings, allowing the option to fill up on bread would seem the least they could do. Â 90% of the people in the place seemed to be over 60, so maybe they have a Friday buffet niche of regulars, where they don't even need to make an effort to impress, or much less, even try to.
