Think I went to a different restaurant than the other reviewers. The prices were high for what they served. Went on a Sunday evening and the place was empty. Did not like the choice of pasta or salad with the meal. Ended up paying extra for the salad and it was small, limp, and disappointing. We had veal parm, small portion, and chicken parm, small and dried out portion.
    Will never go back.

My boyfriend came to Hudson Valley for a last minute Labor Day weekend trip.  Based on a recommendation of the b&b owner we came to Bella Luna.  We had a crab, avocado, tomato daily special appetizer (picture posted) served at the same time as the Bella Luna pasta entree to share both.  We also ordered a bottle of wine.  Great service, tasty food (some of the best Italian I've had) and great portion size.

We're heading back tonight for dinner.

    Salute!

My fiance and I decided on taking a long weekend upstate to relax and enjoy some time away. We came here for dinner one night on a recommendation from the Inn as well as based on Yelp reviews.

Prices are fantastic, food portions are ENORMOUS. I'm SO glad we decided to split an entree and get soup as an appetizer. There is no way I'd be able to finish all of the pasta portion that they give you. Service was good, food was decent. All in all a good experience but nothing spectacular.

Excellent FOOD!!! Service is wonderful!  The entire staff is professional and warm!!! Lots of delicious food choices and fresh dessert; tiramusu is my favorite followed by an express with sambuca!!!   Thank you!!!

Restaurant part is very nice, food is very good. Had dinner but needed a pizza to go  since it is a Sunday football sale. Well the guy making the pizza was rude in the way he talked not only to the wait staff but the customers. Another lady walked out. Our waitress in the dining room was extremely pleasant, after dealing with him you could hear her cursing in anger in kitchen area (I don't blame her he was still nicer than I would be)
Long story short avoid the take out side. The pizza is good but not good enough to deal with the attitude you will get from the guy making the pizza. It is a large fat man with an obnoxious voice.

Great service and big portions of food. The veal was better than the chicken. Romantic place to go on a date.

We give this 3 stars as opposed to 4 or 5 stars because lately, their to-go service has been very off.

In this order alone, they forgot the penne that goes along with the veal parmigiana dinner.  Also, I ordered penne alla vodka with breaded chicken and it came out grilled.  The pasta in my boyfriend's entree and my entree was very mushy and overcooked.  I felt it was expensive for what it was.  $75 and they forgot half the portion that goes with my friend's meal?  Meh.  I think 3 stars is pretty generous.

This place doesn't look like much from the outside as it is in a strip mall. We were here for a family function and had a group of 100. The service was buffet style due to the size of the crowd but they handeled it great. The eggplant rolatini and the chicken scarpiello were very good. I ususally expect ruber chicken in a buffet style meal but this was fresh and cooked perfectly. Cudos to the staff who kept refilling the serving dishes.

Wow!!!!  Went on date night with my wife and were looking for a nice Italian restaurant.  Stumbled upon Bella Luna and let me tell you we were very glad.  I had a special dish that was basically ravioli with beef and veal in a pink cream sauce.  Some of the freshest pasta I have ever had!!!  The meal was so light that I actually finished the whole plate.  My wife have the filet of sole francese and also quite delicious. Finished off our meal with tiramusu and the chocolate souffle.  mmmmmm Loved the cozy romantic atmosphere, yet still casual enough to wear shorts and a polo.  Even the bar area seemed rather private and cozy at the same time.  Will definitely go back to try more dishes because minus the bottle of wine it was  typical in price to what we would expect for nice restaurants.  Definitely want to try the the pizza next door due to the freshness of the ingredients.  Cannot wait to go back!

Great food and service. Bella Luna never disappoints. If I had one critic of the food I would say the stuffed mushroom need a better filling. But overall the food is very good.

Great Italian/Italian American food. The atmosphere is very pleasant but still feels relaxed and casual. The restaurant part of the place dishes out some of the best Italian food I've had outside NYC. The connected pizzeria located right next door makes some unbelievably good pizza. Its somewhat of a thin crust style but not to thin. The food in the restaurant is pretty reasonably priced but the Pizzeria is a bit expensive, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

Nice restaurant.  Menu offers a varity of Italian specialities.  Sometimes the service can be slow, especially when waiting for the check.

Love the food! I agree with Carolyn B that the portions are huge - I ended up taking most of my Mussels and Scungilli Fra Diavalo with me - but in my defense the crispy calamari appetizer, house salad and complimentary bread basket filled me up. The only reason I'm hesitant to give five stars is because our server was incredibly slow. We went on a very slow Thursday night - less than four tables in the entire restaurant - and had to wait for an eternity for our drink refills. As we were leaving, we saw all the servers congregated by the bar chit chatting away. Also, Bella Luna has an adjacent brick oven pizza parlor, but doesn't actually serve pizza in their main dinning room. I thought that was kind of strange. Their wine list is also incredibly underwhelming. All in all  - aside from the server bit - it was a good experience. One appetizer, two entrees, three drinks (no free refills) came to $51.00.

Definitely check it out if you're in the neighborhood.

Huge portions!  Get a to go box from the outset or feel the wrath of a full stomach all day.

Or just skip the meal and go to dessert.  I had apple pie and holy YUM!
