Now, as you read this review, remember, I'm rating based on the level of hotel and location. Â You can't compare a hotel like the BW in Bradford, PA, to hotels in more urban areas. For what it is, this is a 4 star hotel, for us.
We arrived super early (10 am) and were still able to check in. Â That's awesome! Â The woman at the front desk was pleasant enough, but did seem a bit harried/distracted. Â Because we're in Bradford PA, we upgraded to the King jacuzzi suite because it was still cheaper than a standard hotel room most places.
The room is huge, w/a king sized bed, 2 nightstands/lamps, 2 chairs, and a bureau w/a flat screen in the "bedroom" and a loveseat, chair, 2 end tables/lamps, a desk/computer chair, and bureau w/flat screen in the other room, with the *jacuzzi tub* a step up on tile, w/a mini frig and microwave, behind the living room. Â The bathroom has a sink, decent counter space, toilet, and a tub/shower combo (no exhaust fan). Â
The jacuzzi filled and drained quickly, but is not well insulated and doesn't hold heat very long. Â Unfortunately, the jacuzzi is not situated so you can see either TV while soaking. Â
The room appeared clean enough (in a place like this, I prefer not to do too close of an inspection), though the carpet is a bit worn and pulling up.
The AC units worked well (no thermostat in the room, they are set in unit w/knobs). Â
The internet is spotty and cuts out frequently. Â Our biggest issues w/the room were there are no outlets near the bed for device charging and the annoyance of the spotty (though FREE) WiFi...
The fitness center is large (physically) and has 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, a recumbent bike, a stepper, and a universal gym. Â There are towels, a water cooler, and wet wipes. Â A rack of free weights would be a wonderful addition. Â This equipment is quite old, but still usable. Â There are no dedicated spots on the U-gym for shoulders or bis (they claim the bench press takes care of it; but there's not way to either shrug or change it to military press), but it's better than nothing. Â I also just read in the hotel info (though we were not told at check in), that the local Y will honor your room key and id for a day pass if you can't make this work. Â
There is a free breakfast; I did not partake, but my husband said it was "fine".
There is a grocery store, CVS, liquor store, fast food, and numerous bars w/in walking distance. Â Upon check in, we received one drink voucher (no more than $3) at the lounge, but we didn't use it because the lounge doesn't open until 4. Â
There are vending machines (drinks) and each floor (and ice on the 1st and 3rd). Â On the main floor, there are both Pepsi and Coke vending machines, as well as a food vending machine. Â The drinks are $1.25 for a 20 oz bottle (that's less than I paid at Sheetz on the way here) and ALL of the snacks in the food vending (candy, nuts, chips), were under $1. Â
If you stay here, eat at Beefeaters (a 2 min/3 block walk); it's great!
