So I have driven past this place several times while visiting my in-laws and have never stopped, until today. Today as mentioned on the previous post, was brisket Saturday. I got it on a sandwich with side of pasta salad and baked beans and it was all delicious. The brisket was tender and had a good flavor, the pasta salad was good and the beans were exceptional. My only complaint would be the spicy bbq sauce. I didn't really care for the overall flavor of it, but perhaps that was just a personal preference. The proprietor was very friendly as well during our brief carry-out visit. I do really like this place and I will most certainly go back when I visit. It's called Uncle Beth's BBQ now by the way
Review Source:Stumbled on this in, let's face it, the middle of nowhere. Â (I live in a different corner of nowhere, so I don't mean that as an insult.) Â It's actually in Middletown, about 5 miles south of North Lewisburg; it's on the corner of Rt. 245 and Rt. 296.
It's nothing fancy, just a nice building with a few tables. Â Prices are pretty reasonable for barbecue. Â Mainly carryout, so no bathrooms and only canned/bottled drinks. Â The owners are very down to earth and know their food. Â I tried the ribs, pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato casserole, corn pudding, and baked beans (no, not all at once...) Â My friends had pretty much the same things; one had the sliders, which can be pork or chicken, or both. Â He said they were pretty good.
The ribs were good: meaty, not oversauced, nicely smoked. Â The pulled pork was quite good: again, smoke and other flavor from the meat, with just a bit of sauce on top (as much as you want.) Â The sandwich was pretty big. Â The sides were all good. Â
They only do brisket on Saturdays, so I will definitely be back for that. Â Otherwise it's a bit out of my way, but I hope the locals find and appreciate it.
Edit- 2/20/14- they've changed the name to Uncle Beth's, a family nickname
