Betty's Pantry

Betty's Pantry in Ottertail is a wonderful surprise! Good food and unbelievable prices. An old-fashioned eatery that one rarely finds amidst all the chains. Friendly help, a family atmosphere, homemade baked goods. A real gem in Minnesota's glacial lakes region. Should be on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." (Note: Betty doesn't accept credit cards to keep her prices low, but she does have an ATM machine just outside the front door.)

Had breakfast here today for the first time. Very welcoming family environment! There are little games for the kids to play with while waiting and the food was delicious. Nice portion sizes! We will definitely go back!

I gave Betty's a second shot this morning and I was just as disappointed. Three weeks ago I stopped by with some of my family and ordered the eggs Benedict. It was just ok. The coffee was watered down and disgusting. All in all not terribly impressed for my first visit in three years. Today our waitress was rather rude and snippy. The kitchen doesn't take requests (I like my hashbrowns extra crunchy) and our waitress just said "they are only fried one one side" then turned and left. The coffee was still watered down and disgusting. The place was packed and we waited quite a while for our omelets. The hasbrowns and omelet tasted pretty good but it doesn't really make up for the rest.  Next time I head to the lake I won't be stopping back.
