My husband and I visited on Saturday for dinner. Had heard good things from a few people. We're seated quickly. Our waitress was prompt to our table, but did not greet us, just asked what we wanted to drink. Her iPad was not cooperating and she seemed quite distracted by this. When she returned to take our order, she did not ask if we wanted an appetizer. We ordered the sauerkraut balls for our appetizer, my husband ordered the jäger schnitzel, I ordered the evening's special lobster with lemon orzo, which came with a salad.
The kraut balls arrived quickly, there were 5 in the order. They were panko crusted and nicely crunchy, but that is about the only thing notable about them. Then before we had finished our second  kraut ball, our dinners arrived!? We thought we had someone else's dinners! My salad had not even been served.  When we got the attention of our waitress, she wanted to know if I still wanted my salad, or if we wanted to send the dinners back. We decided to keep the dinners and just have the salad brought out.
The jäger schnitzel was rather bland, the side of German potato salad was lacking in that sweet sour flavor I associate with the dish, the side if sauerkraut was tasty. My special consisted of lemon orzo pasta with the meat from two lobster claws, drizzled with balsamic vinegar. The sweetness of the balsamic lent an odd sweetness to the dish. The diced onions and peppers were crunchy, and the lobster meat, while nice in portion, were over cooked & chewy.
Overall, not a great 1st impression. We may try again and get a sandwich. Note to management...dump the iPads. They seem to be a greater distraction to the waitstaff than a helpful tool.

I stopped in at the Bierkeller Pub while on my way to Put-in-Bay from Columbus.  If you're in or near Bellevue I strongly suggest that you stop by.  I was very pleasantly surprised by my experience.

The interior is a cross between a beer hall and a hunting lodge.  Lots of wood, leather, old barrel chairs.... They have a big banquet area attached to the facility, which was being prepared for a wedding, it appeared.

I tried their Ruben, which met expectations.  A sizable sandwich; Not spectacular, but certainly not bad.  The waitress did her job well, but the food was a little slow, especially given that nobody else was really there.

I am stretching my rating up to four stars because, for a pub, it was really pretty good.

Went for dinner on a saturday night and being the new place in such a small town the place was almost full, we grabbed one of the last 2 tables.  Our waitress was clueless on a whether the boiled cabbage was red or green cabbage.  I had the jeager schnitzel with german potatoe salad & vegetable medley.  My wife ordered a chicken breast and spaetzel & veggies.  As we waited for over 45 minutes for our food, waitress checked in with us twice.  I had to ask for another beer since I had drank my first one.  My 2nd beer was later comp'd since we had to wait so long for our food.  We received more attention from another waiter than we did our own waitress.  The schnitzel was okay, nothing more than a bread crumb coated pork loin & fried.  Any schnitzel (veal btw) I've had other places was coated in a flour mixture then fried.  Potatoe salad was the highlight of the meal.  It was very good and I've had alot.  The vegetables, oh my! looked like they were steamed for 5 days, yuck.  My wife's chicken was ok, but the spaetzel was like nothing we'd ever seen before.  It was in a white cream sauce with tomatoes, not good.  Quit trying to be fancy with such a simple dish.

Summary, slow and not knowledgable service.  Not authentic german food.  Prices were average.  The decor is about the nicest thing this place has to offer.  Doubt we'll be back.  Disappointed.
