The service is okay but sometimes its hard to get the attention of staff as it is a lot of ground for them to have to cover.
That being said apps and drinks are great here. Given there are so many awesome places to eat around the area, I would save your money and go down the street to eat.
The Chili- Cheese fries were surprisingly good given island flair.
Convenience is its greatest asset.
Considering the area, the drinks were actually on par price wise with the area. Â While it certainly is nothing spectacular, it is convenient if you are staying at the hotel. It is located right at the pool that overlooks the ocean. The service is decent. You would think the prices would be inflated at a hotel bar but after visiting many other places this was not the case. They were all about the same. I suggest the Kona Itch. Most bang for your buck: Lots of alcohol and quite tasty. And it comes with a free back scratcher! Â What was super amazing about Billfish was the garlic truffle fries. When was the last time you ate garlic fries that had huge gobs of fresh garlic on them??? So delicious!
Review Source:In our it says this place opens at 10:30am on Friday and Saturday however the staff prepping the bar says 11am. Â More lost opportunity for this place. Â The one time we did make it during staffed hours the service was mediocre. Â We waited far too long to first place our order, then for the wait. Â Bartender did appear to have no idea how to make drinks...perhaps her first day.
Review Source:I was so disappointed with this poolside restaurant/bar. Â I like the Marriott and this was my 2nd time staying here...but the Billfish Bar was horrible. Â My husband called the front desk asking for a good family friendly place to eat that wasn't too far from the hotel (nephew & family was with us). Â The server took a long time to bring menus and she didn't bring enough. Â She took our drink orders and ew. Â The water tasted nasty, the Sprite was just carbonated water, no syrup to make it soda, and my drink was supposed to have some alcohol in it but it might as well been a virgin. Â The appetizers came AFTER our entrees. Â The sashimi was warm, the chicken wings were dried out and tasteless. Â The edamame humus was the only good thing. Â The kids' menu burgers were exactly the same as the adult menu burgers and cheaper. Â It may seem convenient to eat here, but don't. Â Take the time and get in your car to go some place else. Â You'll spend the same amount of money but will get MUCH better service and food.

Our first night there, my family & I decided to stay on property for convenience sake. With my new wife & my nephew & his family, we were tired from swimming all day. Bad move...
Called Restaurant Services & was told that this place had a great kids menu. So we go down, where it takes the waitress 10 minutes to bring us water (mind you, the place wasn't busy at all & there was 3 servers).
Ordered pupu's (appetizers), meals & drinks, and the meals came BEFORE the appetizers. Ordered their Thai chicken wings & it looked like something out of Tales From The Crypt- they were so dry & no flavor whatsoever (told them take it back).
Wife ordered a Lava Flow & it came out so weak, as if no alcohol was added. Double checked that it wasn't a virgin drink, and sadly disappointed to learn it wasn't. My nephews kids could've drank it & not felt a thing.
Meals were all cold, & the kids burgers were the same size as the adults.
Love this hotel, the bar is a nice place to hang out, but don't EVER eat there. And if you want good service, sit ON the bar- not near, not next, ON the bar..........
This is a pretty standard bar next to the pool at the marriot. Â Drinks are good, service is decent. Â Nothing bad, nothing great. Â My girl did seem to be enjoying her Mango Daquiri though. Â
The only reason we came to this bar is because we parked at the Marriott so that we can check out the little cove that was supposed to be good for snorkeling (sigh). Â Anyway, if you parked here, the bar gives you validation for 3 hours.
I had friends staying there and went to the bar two afternoons. Â Not sure how it works for non guests, but we enjoyed mai tais and friendly service, and one afternoon there was a nice live musician. Â I should have asked for more info for non guests, but I blame the mai tais lol..... Â might have to go back and do more recon.
