For me this place is like Macon's very own "Cheers" where everyone knows your name. Everyone is so friendly and there is a very diverse crowd which is hard to find in Macon. It's a nice chill spot to hang out and service is fast. Will definitely reek of smoke like Julie C. stated but it's a cool spot.
Review Source:My favorite place to hang out and drink beer downtown. Â The bartenders are friendly and prompt. Â I don't play much pool, but it's the only place downtown you can as far as I know. Â It reminds me of "cheers" from the old tv sitcom. Â My only complaint is the Sunday bartender has been rude to several of my friends. Â I guess 6 days out of 7 having great service is pretty damn awesome, though!
Review Source:I don't spend that much time in downtown Macon but I make it out on the occasional Friday evening. I found myself in BJ's because it was the only place my friends said didn't charge a cover. For this reason alone- BJ's is great, that and it's a cheaper place to drink. It seemed pretty chill, with a wide range of age groups in the bar. We even ended up getting a couch on a busy Friday evening. Of the places I've visited in the downtown area, this is definitely one that I would make a return trip to.
