So our next stop along the bbq trail was a stop at Bobby's Bar-B-Q. Â The building is large, and clearly they do good business. Â The lady at the desk was very friendly. Â However, the place has the overall feel to a rest stop on I-95. It has weird keychain racks with those keychains that have your name on them, you can buy postcards, etc. Â There is a large buffet, offering a number of standard bbq sides, all of which looked good. Â This is a review of the bbq only.
The meat was somewhat flavorless, and not all that impressive. Â It didn't have a nice smokey taste to it, it was just...bland. Â And a bit dry. Â The bbq sauce was tasty, but didn't make up for it. There are better BBQ places, this isn't all that impressive.
I've eaten here a few times and I was never quite impressed with the food. Their barbeque is 'wet and soggy'. I'd rather have barbeque that's tender and the sauce baked into the meat versus having it running everywhere. There's alot to choose from here but just not to my liking. If you like 'wet' barbeque, you would love this place.
Review Source:Locals know about it, so should you!
Bobby's BBQ has in my opinion the finest BBQ I have ever eaten. It is the BBQ by which I compare all BBQ. I am yet to find anything that even COMPARES let alone is better.
This is an all-you-can-eat style restaurant with a 2 row buffet. Sides include delicious hush puppies, homemade macaroni and cheese, corn, rice, hash, sweet and dill pickles, coleslaw, baked beans, there may be more, but I never get that far!
The restaurant is family owned. On a good day, Bobby may even come sit with you for a while and talk!
The sauce is a combination sauce like nothing I've ever tasted. Its not mustard ketchup or vinegar based, its totally unique.
If you want a seat and some of the Macaroni before it runs out, come in groups and come early!
